Apprentice STS 1.5m Smart Trainer with SAFE is a large, forgiving club trainer designed to help pilots learn to fly RC airplanes. Built around the trusted Apprentice S 15e platform, it uses Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope (SAFE) technology to provide Beginner, Intermediate, and Experienced flight modes, with an optional SAFE Plus GPS upgrade that adds AutoLand, Virtual Fence, and a Holding Pattern to assist learning at the field. Its 1.5-meter wingspan gives strong visibility and stable handling in a range of wind conditions, making it ideal for club training and flight-school use. The Ready-To-Fly Basic version includes the Spektrum transmitter and everything needed to fly in the box, except for a battery and charger. Construction uses a durable EPO airframe that arrives mostly preassembled with the power system, flight controller, receiver, and servos installed, so final assembly is quick and glue-free. It features a four-servo, four-channel setup for training to full aerobatics, plus a wide-stance tricycle landing gear for confident takeoffs and landings on a variety of surfaces. Optional floats can convert it to a water trainer, and an optional Landing Assist Sensor helps smooth landings. Real-time telemetry from the ESC can feed compatible Spektrum transmitters, and the model can be upgraded with SAFE Plus GPS-enabled features to extend guidance as skills grow.
