Yea really into scale flight and this bird fits the build. Easily built and trimmed good right out of the box. Great warbird with very little stall characteristics and super slow flight with flaps. So solid. Couldn’t be happier. Motion rc awesome as always. Shout out to pilot Ryan and captain mike. Two thumbs up.

Just received my P-47 the other day and as always Motion had it on my door step in 2 days, great service! The assembly was easy you don't even need the instructions except for control surface rate settings. The previous review by Dyer I don't quite understand. He states that fuselage has plastic inserts for the wing bolts. The wing has plastic guide plates but my fuselage has brass threaded inserts in the fuselage and I had no problem lining up the wing or tightening it to the fuselage. Everything else fit fine and the only reason I gave it four stars was because of the cheap clevises, could be a little beefier and the hard rubber wheels, good for grass but not for asphalt runways. Everything was packed well but the right wing tip had a little compression wrinkling ... MoreJust received my P-47 the other day and as always Motion had it on my door step in 2 days, great service! Overall beautiful plane.

Outstanding flying model with excellent power loading on a 4S pack. I just wish it had functional oleo struts, but the stock struts are fully adequate.

I finally got to maiden my P-47 pnp the other day. With 1 1/2 ounces in the nose and a 3s 2200 25c battery it flew beautifully with minor trimming. Take off with slight amount of right rudder tail comes up nicely and it climbs out very scale. Landings with no flaps because I had a 6 gusting to 12 head wind and they were beautiful. Definitely a favorite warbird for me.
As always dealing with Motion has been great, plane came in 4 days from order. My first flight went great the plane pulls to the left on take off as do most warbirds, but with a little left rudder all went well. Before take off I cycled the landing gear 20+ times with no problems. Building it was very easy all pieces fit together with no problems. The only thing I needed to do was add a little weight, about 2 oz, in the noise to get the CG right. The thing I love about this plane is it does not want to noise over on take off or landings, just put a little back pressure on the stack and the tail wheel stays on the ground. This is my 6th warbird and the best flying one, I gave this plane 5 stars.
This is an easy to build plane and flies quickly on a 2200 Pro battery. If with this battery, she required an ounce and one-half of nose weight to get the recommended CG. After the first flight, I added another quarter ounce of weight for smooth flying. I set the plane to fly in the safe mode. This tended to keep things sooth during windy conditions. She flies well at about 50% throttle; however, thee is plenty of power of any aerobatics one wants to do. Take offs and landings are none eventful even with flaps. No elevator adjustments are required as per manual instructions. I wish the rocket pods were made better; otherwise, the details and quality control are excellent. I really like how this plane flies. So far, I have had no issues using the 4-cell pack.
Got it in three days got it together in a hour and was flying the next day. With an ounce of nose weight the plane flew great takeoffs are nice and landings are a breeze with no flaps but does well with the flaps too. Had a couple of nose overs on taking off on grass may have been that the grass was a little tall will try it next spring when it is mowed down. The build went together well only problem I had was the screws for the wings did not line up well so had to do a little forcing to get them to go in. The brackets on the bombs broke off right away when I tried to take them off they need to be glued in better and the slides for the missile pods pulled out of the wings again better glue to hold them on. I am using the 2600 3S 11.1V Admiral battery and get about 6 minutes out of it you may get longer if not flying it wide open like I do.
This is one tough plane we have had this plane about a year now and the abuse this plane has taken . It has been flown into a fire hydrant while landing broke the fuse into 3 pieces retracts ripped out of the wings . We took it home glued it back togather and flew it the next day and it flew great . My husband modified the wings with light sheet metal over the retracts made metal skirts to replace the plastic ones over the wheels . With all the damage this plane has people have commented that the plane looks as it has seen action and with the little added weight she flies very good . Never had to get parts for it yet cause we fabricated are own parts but if we ever need to get parts for it we know Motion RC will be there . We have gotten other planes from Motion RC ... MoreThis is one tough plane we have had this plane about a year now and the abuse this plane has taken . Just received my BNF version today and was able to assemble it in less that 1 hour set the radio, and sneak out for a few quick test flights ....This plane fly AWSOME!!! and Smooth!!! and is very nicely sized, Well done E-Flite I am thoroughly impressed with the level of detail and quality of all the components as well as the foam finish....outstanding. She has plenty of power on 3S to do anything you want it to do and slows down and lands like a dream. War Bird and P-47D lovers have got to have one of these.Note: it uses the same propeller as the FMS 980mm P-47D, so it can be used as a spare and replacement part propeller, that also applies to the prop hub if you grind off the hex piece or use two front pieces of the hub together. The only little minor detail ... MoreJust received my BNF version today and was able to assemble it in less that 1 hour set the radio, and sneak out for a few quick test flights ....This plane fly AWSOME!!! and Smooth!!! and is very nicely sized, Well done E-Flite I am thoroughly impressed with the level of detail and quality of all the components as well as the foam finish....outstanding. Also the rocket launchers could be a bit longer and bigger. The Wheels come as standard P-51 styled spoke wheels with the option to add a sticker decal over the outside of the wheel to give it the solid Blue and star look....it comes as an option....
This is my third plane in the 1.2M series, I also have the 1.2M T28 and the Spitfire and I LOVE the P47.I gave this 4 stars due to “quality issue” because it has a quality control issue or a design flaw with mounting the wing. I saw screw hole alignment issues on another posts so I do not think it is only my plane. The flaw would not be so bad if they had used a metal nut that the wing mount screw fits into (which even cheap plane makers do) but the “soft plastic tube” the wing mount screw goes into exacerbates the wing alignment issue. The problem is that the rear of the wing on one side does not align with the body. Put some pressure on the wing trailing edge base (against the body) and you get it to align. If the mount screw went into a metal nut mounted in the body, tightening this would make the trailing edge align. What happened when I tried to do this is the soft plastic tube the screw was going into, would just STRIP rather than pull the wing against the body and into alignment. Luckily, I did not do this too badly and it is the trailing edge so it should be OK. I loosened up the opposite screw which made the opposite trailing edge standoff the body to the same degree so at least the wing is not diagonally askew. So be careful when tightening down the wing screws!!I also happen to hate the hard wheels because they cause “impact” to the plane when landing on asphalt, but I just switch them out for a softer set. This has been the case with my other 1.2 meter planes as well. This was not part of the 4 stars for quality, the wing mounting issue alone dropped the stars down to a 4.With all that said, I LOVE this plane. It flies really well. I saw or heard a comment that it flies about halfway between the Spitfire and the T28, and I would agree with that. I takeoff with ½ flaps and it goes airborne quickly. I like landing with zero flaps as it gives me a more horizontal approach and less impact on the landing gear. Swaping to softer wheels also help reduce the rollout distance. The landing gear is set wide and raked forward which helps reduce ground looping on takeoffs/landings and reduces risk of nose overs. Steers great on the ground with the wide stance. The stock wheels are about 3.5 inches which makes it taxi really well.As with my other warbirds, I cut a small rectangular hole in the battery hatch and wedge a battery alarm up through there with the buzzers facing straight up and out but flush with the outer lines. You can see the voltage under the hatch when you lift it, and you can hear the buzzers clearly when it reaches your setting. I set it so when I land it bounces back up (upon removing the load) to storage voltage (3.8 per cell) and this helps save battery life quite a bit.The motor and ESC are very well cooled and ventilated with some nice scale ducts which let the air out through the rear of the body. It has plenty of room for extra electronics you may want to put in (which I do) as well.I put in a 65amp ESC and use a 2800mah-3000mah 4 cell all the way forward and it seems to balance well for me. I liked the extra weight (as with the T28) and with the 4 cell Lipo this one RIPS. I think it would take a larger battery with no issue as the extra length would be around the CG area.Would be perfection if it were not for the cheap plastic tubes the wing mount screws go into.
