e.l.f. offers quite a few good products and this is one of them. Countless makeup reviewers, makeup artists, and regular people who make makeup tutorials on YouTube swear by this primer even when most of their other cosmetics are high end.I really enjoyed this primer. I'm still learning how to correctly apply it so I don't use more than necessary. But it goes on very smooth. It slides across your fingers and face like the most slippery lubricant you can imagine. At the same time, the texture of it is SOOO soft and silky. It actually feels great just rubbing it between thumb and forefinger. It's a pleasant experience! The only problem I have with this product, and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that there is so little -actual- product in this pump. It's a pleasant experience! The only problem I have with this product, and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is that there is so little -actual- product in this pump. It looks, by its size, like there is a lot more product inside it. When I started running out, exceptionally soon, I unscrewed the housing and took the pump out and looked inside. The actual well that holds the product is TINY! I mean very tiny. And there's still a bit of product on the sides of the well which can't be drawn up into the pump for some reason. I'm having to take it apart and scoop out what I need with a toothpick.Speaking of toothpicks, I just had an idea. I took the bottle apart so that I could get an -approximate- measurement for the inside of that little well. When I put the toothpick in, and it hit the bottom, MOST of the toothpick was still above the rim. Probably 2/3rds of it. I marked the toothpick and measured it. The well, from the bottom to the top of the mouth of it where the other bits screw onto it, it's exactly 1 inch. 1 inch deep. The diameter is less than 2 cm wide which is a little less than 3/4 of an inch. So, yeah, teensy! If this was one of e.l.f.'s $1 - $3 products, I'd have absolutely no problem with that. But for $6, you should get a little more product. At least that's MY opinion. So, in summary, it's a great product and will probably work for most skin types and blend well with most foundations (though I'm not sure if it would work well under powder foundation). However, the small amount of product you get might not be work the $6 price tag depending on how you use it and what you're looking for. Hope this helps. =)

I waited months for it to be back in stock on Elf’s website and finally got my hands on it a few weeks back. This primer is so moisturising and once applied it becomes slightly tacky which helps the foundation stick better. Love how smooth and flawless my foundation looks with this primer underneath. I have used this primer with liquid foundation and stick foundation and it performs excellent with both formulas. I use which can become too dry during winters but when I used it with this primer I noticed that it looked so much better. The foundation glided on and didn’t stick to any dry patches and didn’t feel drying on the skin for a second. The fact that this primer is so affordable, has no scent, and perform this great makes it an overall amazing product. The only thing that can make this primer perfect is that if the package had a small spatula to scoop the product out because using your hands every time can be unsanitary. Otherwise it is an A++ product

So I've been wearing makeup for years, but only recently decided to Do Something about the sometimes-often 'melting makeup' look happening on my face when it hits mid-afternoon. I have combo skin in that my T-zone gets SUPER oily and my chin and cheeks do not. My skin is also stubborn in that the pores on my nose are quite large, so you can imagine how makeup might settle on my nose with a double whammy of giant pores + oil. (If you can't imagine, the oil would basically melt the makeup off, but makeup that settled into my pores would proudly stay. So I had weird dots on my nose. YIKES.) I decided I needed to change my routine, which includes adding more products like this.I normally only used a bit of primer (Benefit's Pore Professional) around my nose, but ... MoreSo I've been wearing makeup for years, but only recently decided to Do Something about the sometimes-often 'melting makeup' look happening on my face when it hits mid-afternoon. I still use the Pore Professional on top (seriously, my nose is SO oily, it needs all the help it can get), but I think this primer really helps keep it all together, especially on the rest of my face. The only drawback is that the bottle is quite small, as someone else mentioned. The bottle is a bit of marketing trickery, as the frosty container is just the outer shell and there is a smaller container within. Ah, well - I find that with this I only need less than a full pump (maybe 1/2 - 3/4?) to cover my entire face.

I have tried several primers as I have a subscription to Boxycharm and Ipsy and I used to have Birchbox. I have to say, with these primers from E. l. f., i was not impressed. The purple one left my face feeling like a smooth sticky. The green one a friend of mine had so I tried it. It didn't do anything to my skin at all. The other one I liked for the most part. I still ended up going back to what I had in my stash. I, however, used their Setting Spray for a couple years until I ran out and happen to have something new sitting on my counter so I used that.

And I could feel my skin smooth without being noticed that I have product, to apply the base I realized that it helped a lot to blur better on the skin and leaving a better finish. The hours passed and I noticed that I did not have fat (or excess of it) and my makeup was lasting a lot more than it used to last, it really helps to control the fat as it promises, this I fall completely in love because I am oily skin and it is One of the problems that I have had to deal with in my life (very annoying) and with this first my makeup lasts much more even sweating from the heat, even helps to have more durability shadows without being first of shadows (that I am For buying one). Would I buy it again? Yes, first because I had no reaction with it and it is of very good quality.
I have tested every pore primer out there that I can think of. The Maybelline one for me did not work. There are a few high and primers that are more expensive than this one that really didn't have that good of results either. If you have very large pores in a lot of pores on your face you're going to have your make up absorbed by your pores no matter what no matter what primer you use. If you apply it with a beauty blender it's going pack it into the pores more. With this technique I tried a few other cheaper and more expensive pore primers and I found that I've had the best results with this one. I feel like this primer doesn't break down your make up I feel like some for primers break down your make up after a couple of hours. I still feel like some of the pore primers ( especially the medicated ones) actually lead to dry skin. I feel as if this one does not dry out my skin. It holds my make up last longer. This primer really is not terrible. It feels oily and almost like silicone. My makeup already has a tough time sticking to my face, this somewhat helped and it works in a pinch. I would recommend for a quick look or simple outing but not for long wear. I honestly didn’t notice anything different regarding tone- but maybe if I used it everyday it would show a difference?
I am not a major fan of this product however it is a great drugstore brand for people who do not have sensitive skin. I’m just not a fan of it because it does cause rashes and it does flare up your eczema if you have it. However it is very cheap and affordable and you can find it basically anywhere. The other thing is that it has a strong scent and if you’re not big on since you definitely should deviate from this brand or well product. Elf does pretty well on certain products however this one is definitely not one of their best. Overall it does feel Cakey when applied to the face. Just not something I’m comfortable with on my face.
It has no scent. My face isn't pigmented yellow but my neck is, so to avoid mismatched face-neck color, I use it on my neck. It's size is smaller than a normal foundation bottle. The packaging comes in a sort of fake frosted glass bottle. The quality of the product is fairly good though, it does its job of canceling out the yellow pigment on my neck smoothly. It doesn't have much coverage since it's a primer, your face won't look actually purple with this, it's not face paint. The texture is sort of weird when you first squeeze it out though- it's not really liquid, and more like a hard mousse
I love this primer, a little goes a long way, & price is perfect for a drugstore primer (when you don’t get store up charges). Which is a good thing considering how LITTLE product you actually get.The drugstores around me haven’t started selling this new packaging it shows here on the website but I sure hope that the new packaging also includes an overhaul to the shockingly small actual amount of product Elf has been selling to us for quite a few years now.
