I'm a fan of the og putty primer so was interested to see how the C-Bright version would compare, let's just say I'm mega impressed!While the texture is similar, I find it to be smoother and a little softer than the original making it easier to apply. I like to apply the primer with my fingers to allow it to warm up so it blends and melts into the skin effortlessly. I pay particular attention to the areas that have the most visible pores ensuring the product is gently pressed into the skin - this provides the most flawless, even base. I found the formula quite light and non greasy. It’s easy to warm up the product using your fingers or a beauty blender. There’s no greasy or sticky residue. On its own the primer gives my skin a lovely radiant glow which I really like as I don’t want to wear makeup all the time. My skin looks healthier and more uniform. It provides a nice base for foundation although I find I need to build it up to fill in pores and uneven texture. I would recommend using moisturiser beforehand if you have drier skin and avoid powder products to avoid caking. I got the free mini sample, and I am honestly surprised, I was expecting this to make me greasy, but it does the opposite. I have combo skin, and this helps keep me from getting super oily. It's mattifying without the cakiness or the dryness. Makes my undereyes look so good with concealer. Also helps keep my makeup on through out the day, which I wasn't expecting.ONLY thing I will say is this might be giving me small breakouts. Along my forehead and T zone on my cheeks, there are some small bumps since using this. It's nothing crazy, but I do notice this. I have combination skin and it was slightly oily for me both with and without foundation.As a radiance booster with no foundation, it worked well and gave my skin a brighter more even toned look. I applied it with my E.l.f Putty Primer applicator which has a scoop on one end to enable you to remove the primer from the pot without using your fingers. It applied easily as the primer melts on contact with the skin.I then tested it as a base for The Ordinary Serum Foundation and found it gave a very smooth finish on my skin. The foundation colour was very even and the foundation applied better than usual. You need to wait 30 seconds after application to let the primer set before applying your foundation. My foundation stayed in place. Afterwards, I did need to blot my face with a tissue as my skin was feeling more oily than usual. I was pleased with the end result though.This primer performed well both with and without foundation and I would recommend it for people that want a smooth, even toned look.Fragrance free, cruelty free and vegan.
