e.l.f Hydrating Camo Concealer | Beige

Like most of us beauty junkies, I've spent hundreds and hundreds on high end beauty products just to end up finding those "drugstore gems" that are so affordable and effective they become a staple in your makeup bag. ELF Cosmetics products are one of these gems. Honestly, these products cost 10$ or less and the results are right on par with the worshipped high end products. Take for example, the new KOSAS Revealer Concealer. Every IG influenster I follow ranted and raved about it. So of course I saved up my pennies and bought it. Unfortunately, I did not get the same outstanding results as claimed. Maybe it's my application technique, maybe it's my tools, my lack of/overuse of primers, moisturizers, setting sprays, etc. , I'll never know. But what I do know, is certain products just "work" for me, my complexion, my makeup abilities, etc. I was sold on the KOSAS revealer because the Shade 0.5 they offered was the brightest, lightest fair shade I've seen. Then I found this ELF Camo concealer, in just about exact same shade. For , 1/10 the cost (I purchased on Amazon for $3.50, I know Target sells it for 6$). Anyways, this review is meant to express how I believe in the trial and error process when it comes to purchasing any beauty product. I know reading reviews is what we all know (especially on this platform lol) but what works for one person, might not for you. And that's okay because discovering new brands, less expensive dupes, and new personal favorites from buying and trying an assortment ifmmof brands is one of the biggest thrills I get from being a makeup junkie. I don’t know how people are raving over this concealer??? It’s earned it’s place as the most god awful concealer I’ve ever used. I bought this on a whim when i needed concealer and didn’t have any. I had high hopes because of the reviews and the keyword being *hydrating*. I have very dry skin and anything hydrating is welcome. It’s anything BUT hydrating. This is the driest and creasiest concealer I’ve ever used. I have to use my fingers to warm it up under my eyes before going in with a sponge. It’s a nightmare to blend out because it doesn’t want to budge. No amount of skin prep or setting this concealer will keep it from creasing. It creases immediately. This concealer covers anything from super dark circles to blemishes to discoloration of any sort. I have a dry skin type and I usually struggle with creasing especially under my eyes and this concealer did not crease at all. It lasts all day long with no problems. The packaging is great and sleek. I love this type of applicator because it is so easy to just put right where you need it. I can get away with just wearing this concealer and no foundation due to the amazing and buildable coverage. This I have used this e.l.f. hydrating camo concealer for five years now, and I can’t stop repurchasing this amazing product. The coverage this product gives you while not leaving your skin dry is incredible. It’s like magic in a tiny little bottle. As a person that has struggled with mild acne for a long time, I always look for a good coverage foundation that doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry. This camo concealer is super long lasting. I’ve wear it every time I go out, and it always surprises me when I return home with the same look I left the house with. I would recommend this concealer to people of all ages with all types of skin. I have oily skin, and I really thought the hydrating effect of this concealer would not be good, however, it has not failed me yet.

This is honestly such a great concealer. It’s great not only for every day use, but for a special occasion use. It’s very creamy it doesn’t crease under the eyes. The fact that it hydrating also helps a lot and keeping your skin nice in hydrated and looking glowly. I’d like to add that this is 100% a dupe for the Tarte shape tape concealer. If you don’t want to waste your money on the Tarte shape tape definitely buy this instead. It’s not only cheaper but in my opinion I feel like it’s better. Can't make it work

This concealer was just awful on my skin. I do the same morning routine and skin prep every morning, and for some reason, trying to use this concealer with my daily routine was just a mess. It's patchy, and just doesn't stick to my skin, regardless of using my usual primer. It's like the more I blend it out, the more it slides across my skin and reveals my skin underneath the concealer. It clings to every little dry patch on my face, regardless of moisturizing beforehand, emphasizing dry patches I didn't even know I had. It just looked so textured and awful, my skin looked so bad. I even tried to layer my usual concealer on top of it as a last ditch effort and it just made my usual concealer look awful. This concealer sincerely made my skin look just plain gross. Definitely not for me

I picked this up because I have been in between concealers and my current has been out of stock. This one came recommended as a really good option at the drugstore price point.I don't think I've ever panicked when trying to blend concealer, until today. I used a small amount on the inner corners of my eyes to start, the color was pretty atrocious, just gross. It highlighted my dark circles and they ended up greenish and still dark. It also was patchy and cakey. It would not diffuse at all. My only gripe is the shade range, because I wish there was a shade slightly lighter and more neutral than the fair warm shade. The palest shade is far too pink for me. Despite this, the fair warm shade works well enough, and I can overlook the imperfect shade because of the amazing formula. If you find most concealers to be too dry, thick, and cakey on your face, this one is for you. It blends out well with fingers or a brush, and can be sheered out lightly to look very natural and skin like or can be built up to a higher coverage without looking too heavy. I wear this all over my face sometimes and I love how it never makes me look dry under my eyes or on my face. I got this concealer because it was recommended to me as one the best on the market - without having to spend too much.I do agree that the price is great, comparing to other similar products, but maybe I was expecting a bit more…The product is actually pretty great and do what it’s supposed to do, but I need to be very careful not to apply too much - otherwise it’s way too visible on my face. Maybe it’s my fault and I didn’t choose the correct shade… but if I apply just a little bit of product (like one small dot for each under eye) and blend it, it seems like the shade is the right one.
