I ordered this right after getting out of the hospital after being in for 3 months, and I'm so glad I did. It's an amazing product. The stick formula is great-it makes application fast, easy, and customizable- and even with the weakness I had in my hands and arms I was able to use it as often as I wanted/needed too. The formula itself is great as well. It melts into the skin quickly, giving a burst of hydration, without being heavy or sticky. Unlike other similar products I've tried from other brands, I can use this even under my eyes without stinging or burning.

I have been wearing this primer for years and absolutely love it. I have a more yellow/olive complexion and I really love how the primer matches my undertone. It is very easy to apply and it only begins to crease after about 12 hours of wear. The coverage is subtle and sheer. Even though it is very lightweight, it really helps with filling my pores and creating a smooth canvas for makeup.

So I believe Elf has A LOT of very amazing products, including primers. But this one, is not one of those sadly in my opinion. At first it pumps out nicely, it's very smooth to the touch, but when it comes to blending out, it doesn't like to blend very well. It clumps and balls up quite a bit. Also by illuminating they mean basically a bunch of very fine glitter mixed with a dimethicone primer. I'm not sure if the glitter/shimmer is what makes it balls up or what but it just does not work well just with application. Let alone when trying to apply more product on top of it. I will not repurchase this ever..

I love the texture of this primer, so lightweight and soft on your face, has a glow to it. It doesn't leave my face too oily either but I'm not sure if it was the foundation that I used or this primer.. but the powder foundation did not go good on top of this primer, my skin looked blotchy and not smooth at all. I just didn't like it, I will try this primer again under a liquid foundation and will update you on how it does. There's a slight tint to it but not much, the softest primer I've ever felt, I was hoping it was going to do good. I love elf products and again it may have been the powder that I used. It didn't blur out any of my pores or anything but it feels nice and has a glow. I recommend it but I wouldn't put powder on top of it. Just my experience. I recently tried the Elf primer, and while it definitely adds some shimmer, I found it to be a bit too glittery for my taste. It also gave my skin a slightly yellow tone, which may not be ideal for my skin tone. In terms of coverage, I'm not completely sure as my foundation started to look a bit cakey after a few hours of wear. Overall, while this primer may work well for some people, it may not be the best option for those looking for a subtle, natural-looking base

Do not purchase this product. Very Deceptive!

If I could get away with giving less than 1 star, I would. Deceptive advertisement. I had this product for 2 weeks and it ran out. I only used it once a day and I liked it but I thought something was wrong with the pump when nothing came out. I unscrewed the lid and did not expect what I saw. It was a thin tube (not even the size of a concealer bottle) inside of a colored container. It could not have been more than a few tablespoons worth if that in there. The packaging is so deceptive. I will not purchase again although I liked the product. I dont have money to waste like that. I would much prefer a more expensive brand that will last me more than 2 weeks. Do NOT purchase this product!

Gllittery, not glowy

I purchased this some months ago, looking for a primer to prep for makeup while giving my dull, lackluster winter skin a "lit-from-within" glow. From the description and images, I thought Illuminating Face Primer would do the job. However, when I first tried it, it made me look like I had yellow-gold glitter all over my face. I thought, OK, maybe I put on too much... so I washed it all off and tried again, as little product as I could, and it still came out glittery. I followed with my makeup as usual, and got comments on the glitter all day. It did OK with making my makeup last, but not anything outstanding. Finally, I tried it one more time, thinned it with moisturizer, and it STILL made me look like I had glitter all over. I had higher hopes

I had higher hopes for this product based on reviews, and did make the attempt to use it more than 1 time. But sadly, this is a no for me. I was expecting something light weight, something that will make my foundation glow and accentuate under eye concealer. But it didn't! Maybe it didn't work well with the other products I use when doing my make up or probably because I have naturally oily skin, my makeup just didn't sit well with it. The application of this product was easy! It feels just like butter, the smell isnt terrible however does like shimmer/glitter on hands when applying. I tried using it a max of 5 times, but looks like ill be throwing it out anyway. sad :(

Run if gold is not your color!

When it says "iluminating" it's because it's packed full of gold glitter. When applying make up I only put concealer under my eyes to hide my lack of sleep so I had matte finish around my eyes and glitter everywhere else. It looked like I wore safety goggles before a fairy explosion happened in my face. This would be good to use as a highlighter but not a primer. And if gold isn't your color run from this as fast as you can.

Use your money elsewhere

This product is literal glitter. You can't tell in some lighting, but if you shine your phone flashlight on your face, it looks like you put highlighter everywhere. When you put foundation over it, you can still see the glitter but not nearly as much. It does blur pores but it has a STRONG silicon feel to it, in a bad way. It's almost greasy feeling. Definitely wish I didn't buy this product.
