I really wanted to like this helmet. I really like the design and the color (grey/green) would've fit my Tiger RP perfectly.Despite it being described as a round oval, it was too tight, especially on my forehead. I starting to think I would find it hard to live without the built in sun visor, after having one for five years, and I really like having a modular helmet. It would be nice if Shoei did something similar to Schuberth and made an ADV version of the Neotech ll.

It's a very close fit that was off-putting at first but I don't really notice so much now, though, when you close the bar it does hit the boom mic if you're not careful.It's also heavier than the xD4. At first, it really torqued my head forward, especially with the bar up. But that feeling is going away as I get used to it.The eyeport also seems smallish- definitely smaller than the xD4. More like the Profile. I find I have to turn my head farther when checking traffic over my shoulder. It's not a game changer but it is definitely smaller both side to side and downward.While not strictly fit-related, I need to address the matter of the wratcheting chin-strap. D-rings were fine with me. Yes, they were slightly more cumbersome and I thought I'd like an easier strap but I have to give up an important feature if I want to stay with the ratcheting strap: breathing. There's about a two-inch long toothed strap made of hard plastic that, if I look down, drives straight into my Adam's apple. And, because of an unadjustable secondary strap tying it to the back of the helmet, I can't push it forward. They are saving me from myself at the expense of killing myself. I like the helmet for other reasons enough to keep it but if, and only if, I can replace that strap with D-rings. I know straps are a very personal thing but for me, this one is a show-stopper. It might also be possible to cut that strap that keeps the chin strap from sliding forward?The bar is awesome. Just lift it and you can take a drink, talk, look at a map, wink at a girl, cool off, etc. It is my first modular helmet and will be a touring game-changer. And the sunshield and visor are very well thought out. The visor and peak come off and go on easily. It's not a Profile but neither is it a Signet-X or, worse, much worse, an xD4. For bright sun riding I do prefer a smoked shield. It keeps your entire face cooler. But the sunshield is super convenient. I can leave with the sun down and when it comes up, I don't have to stop and change shields or put in a smoked pinlock. If I'm riding all day I probably will put on that smoked shield but, for less ambitious days, it's a very nice touch and has a very smooth mechanism. We'll see if it stays that smooth out in the field with a few thousand cycles.I was concerned about the preinstalled comm system. I almost have to wear noise cancelling earbuds and there's no port for that, like with my Sens S10. But, it was easy to pull out the liner and hook up the S10. With the earbuds, it is super quiet. I can hear traffic, listen to music, and take phone calls but don't get fatigued from road noise.But otherwise, as I said, I like the helmet mostly. Now, to be fair, it's a bit much for riding around town. My commute is short, about two miles. My daily ride to they gym is less than that. A Monkey or Grom would suit me perfectly. It's just too much helmet for town riding. Fiddling with the bar, and the visor, and the sun shield, and the mic, and the chin strap, and the peak? I need to find a simple open face with a bubble shield. But, with D-rings, this is going to be the ultimate touring helmet.

I had never heard of this brand and did some research before my purchase. I also added the SC2 Communications which is made by Sena. Works like a champ. This is a great all-around helmet feeling both light and well built. I think it would work well on the track, adventure riding, or street. The comfort and fit is perfect for me. I have ordered every helmet I could get my hands on over the last 10 years. I always had to settle for something that I could make work. Never great! I have a large head that is more long oval. I have always had to wear an HJC CL Max2 or an I90 in 5xl. I'm very thankful HJC had these or I would had nothing! Then!!! I got to try on a Schuberth C5 in a 3xl!! Absolutely PERFECT! The E2 fits the same! There is nothing I do not love about this helmet! It fits my head perfect! It is very quiet! Good airflow! Very stable even at speeds 100+! I rode with it for a small time before installing the SC2. Wow again. Pairs and works great with my 1250 GSA! Sounds great with music or phone. Great fit and put together nicely! That being said, the mechanism that attaches the peak and shield together, while quite clever, does not feel very robust and I doubt the longevity of it. Further, even though the peak gives the helmet an off road appearance, skip the dusty trails because the mechanism will easily gum up and is a pain to clean. Finally, the ratchet chin strap clasp is finicky, at least to my fingers, as the entry angle must be perfect to allow the ratchet tab to be inserted.
Wanted to love it. The shield won't stay up over 10mph. The Modular face falls down way too easily. The visor flops up and down on the wind. The battery could be better for the coms. Comfort is good but overall I feel like I wasted my money and should have kept using my Old Scorpion Exo. I bought mine at SpeedAddicts and they offer zero support. Maybe Revzilla would have been a better choice. Oh, also it constantly fogs up even with all vents open.

I wear a medium in both of those brands and went with a large based on the sizing guide. At first, I felt it was way too hot unless you had all the vents open all the time until I realized you can take off the thick chin curtain and -- whoosh -- much more comfortable in warm weather. What's nice about that is you can also reinstall the chin curtain when it's cold and you get virtually no cold air seepage from the chin area. Removing the thick chin curtain also "fixed" the other main issue I had, the painfully uncomfortable ratcheting strap. This is the quietest helmet I've owned. Snap the main visor down and it's like you've just turned on noise canceling. Even with the vents open it's quiet. The venting on this helmet works great, as well. With many helmets you can't even tell if the vents are open, especially the top vent. Open the top vent on the E2 and it's like turning on a little fan above your head. The fit and finish are excellent, and even though being on the heavy side, I can wear it all day and not be fatigued. Maybe the excellent aerodynamics are what help with that -- even with the peak visor attached it moves through the air smoothly with minimal buffeting. A great helmet that, in my experience, required some work for it to meet my expectations.
Compared to my previous Shoei GT-Air, this helmet is much heavier, has much lower airflow, is made for a rounder head, and the internal visor lever is more difficult to operate. That said, I love the modular chin bar for slow speed riding and being able to grab a drink on the fly. The peak works great to provide shade and isn't even noticeable on the highway as long as you keep your head pointed straight forward and don't scan the sky for airplanes. The helmet is quieter than the GT-Air, but not by much. I really wish the US model had retained the ECE rating since I'll be in Europe for some rides soon - that alone cost one star. Overall, I'm happy with the helmet but it's still really hard to justify the price.
Bought this after a C5. Love the helmet and the comms. The visor does not cause me any issue with buffeting or being caught in the wind. I like how the visor locks in place in the 3 different positions. Overall its a good helmet I just wish the venting was a little better but my head seems to run hot anyway.
