Good PGA golf game typical of EA sports. They could have utilised the PS5s latest graphics processor a little better but the game has only just been released and I believe there is a ton of updates on the way. Plenty of courses from the off and plenty of settings options for each one. Player design is pretty basic but functional. It doesn't take long to master the new golf swing system if you're already used to EA's old one, bit fiddly if you're not. Overall a fairly decent golf game typical of EA sports usual fare.

I have only played 2 rounds on this new game so far, but I'm enjoying it. I understand some of the frustrations about this game from others, but I think it is superior to 2K's golf game. The swing motion does have a little hitch in it, but nothing you cant get used to. I really enjoy the fact that you can play at these classic courses instead of being relegated to custom courses. My only complaint so far is that you can't play career mode offline. This game will test your limits and force you to pay attention to what you're doing on every shot.

Video game golf is back! Overall the gameplay and course selection is pretty similar to past EA games but thats not a bad thing. Most of the best courses you want to play are here and they all look better than ever. The graphical updates are the highlight for me. It’s not photorealistic but honestly it’s getting pretty close.Perhaps more importantly the golf is fun and controls feel right. This game is incredibly addictive and there is an insane amount of stuff to do in single player.Cons:Menus still feel a bit clunky to me the game overall needs a bit more polish espcially when it comes to progress goals, setting up your equipment etc.Multiplayer stuff a bit lacking at launch but my hunch is that most people who enjoy golf video games prefer single player ... MoreVideo game golf is back! EA's Return to Golf Makes The Cut
15 September 2023

EA's first golf game in 8 years is a welcome improvement over their previous offering (2015's lackluster "Rory McIlroy PGA Tour"). The inclusion of all men's golf major championships, including The Masters at a beautifully rendered Augusta National, provides golf fans with a virtual way to play the most important events of the year in career mode. There are lots of scenario-based Challenges to play, including new ones that get added in following each real-life event. That said, the gameplay can feel a bit disjointed at times...there seems to be some randomness, due to the "dispersion zone" that's shown when aiming your shot. Putting and the short game both feel a tad clunky as well, especially if you've played the other golf game on the market, PGA 2K23. Fix the bugs Please
16 April 2023

So many bugs in this game. Sad cause it has potential. One example is I was playing the skins format. 3 holes carried over and I finally won the hole and all the skins but other player was rewarded them. That is pretty annoying and if the opponent is computer he takes forever to make his shots. No option to speed him up. Controls are very sensitive even on easy mode. Making game difficult. That could be a good thing and also bad. Has no option to start your career over. You basically have to set up a new player all over again. Hopefully all these bugs can be fix and it could be a nice game. Nice graphic but the bugs kinda make it annoying to play. Rather of saved my $70. Do better ea sports

Gamer Trying to Golf For Real!
15 July 2023

Definitely a good game but there is a learning curve! If a person has been playing the 2K golf games, be warned the gameplay mechanics are totally different and you will be brutally punished for trying to swing or putt like 2K. Each person playing this game will have to tinker with settings to find what works for them. If a practice mode was included, I think this game would become more enjoyable. If you are a gamer trying to golf for real without going to real greens, this is the one to get!

Not sure if its my TV
8 May 2023

Well I have the Sony X90K, which I thought was a great tv for games and sports. I was so excited for this game, based on the realistic images Ive seen before its release. Videos in 4k made the game look amazing. So when I put the game on the ps5, I was totally let down. The graphics are like a ps4. Total let down. Maybe the game I purchased was a lemon (not really) the graphics and images were ps4 at best.

Not what i remember in a golf game…
23 June 2023

So back in the day when the Wii was bug there was a PGA games for it and you could use the Wii motion to “golf” and it was fun and you could connect online to play the real PGA golfers at the aame course they were playing and stuff….This game, while its very nice looking and now has Augusta on it something whoch previous golf games didnt there something i wish i knew before buy this. This game is brutal, and i mean brutal to start….i tried all swing types and had to choose what seems to be the oldest form of golf swing mechanics to hit the ball just to be able to even play the game. Then theres the acutal game….ive made perfect time stops in the swing motion to get what the computer says is a perfect swing only tonhave the ball land not where i targeted or anything! ... MoreSo back in the day when the Wii was bug there was a PGA games for it and you could use the Wii motion to “golf” and it was fun and you could connect online to play the real PGA golfers at the aame course they were playing and stuff….This game, while its very nice looking and now has Augusta on it something whoch previous golf games didnt there something i wish i knew before buy this. Then theres the acutal game….ive made perfect time stops in the swing motion to get what the computer says is a perfect swing only tonhave the ball land not where i targeted or anything! At one point its like theres no rythem or reason the ball goes anywhere it does…you’ll constantly be asking yourself why is my shoot going here and not there get nothing from the game about what to do better or how to imporve that….and the greens i mean its like a slip and slide. Now maybe theres a setting i missed to make the greens less fast but at default settings no matter if you club down or adjust to anything that ball will not stay on that green….unlike preious golf games where you could right away make spin on the ball and get it to at least slow down, not here you have to spend XP to learn that….theres another reviewer on here that said pretty much the same things im saying now, be prepared to start a golfer and if your not dead straight on you up and back motion with your thumbs or super precise your going to be playing the Korn ferry Tournament a lot, and even if you are very good at doing that the randomness where the ball will go will leave you utterly perplexed on how that happen because the game said you made a perfect swing…look golf is hard in real oife, and usaully in video games its hard to but this is just at times punch you in the dace take your lunch money hard…my advice is if you really need a golf game to scratch that itch or haven’t played one in awhile pick this up second hand, dont pay full price or just going golf for real, find a place you can rent clubs if you dont have any and go play the actual game. That way when you hit your ball it does the same thing like in the game goes somewhere you didnt want it to for now rythen or reason youll at least be outside living life…

Sheldon Cooper designed this fiasco.
22 August 2023

For starters extremely poor documentation. Many glitches exist in this game. Actual game play is decent until you are near the green. Club carry seems to vary from hole to hole. Constant adjustments are required in the settings. Don't get me started on how bad putting is. The last time I will ever purchase an E.A. game again. Oh how the mighty have fallen!

Triple Bogey
9 April 2023

I’ll cut straight to the point for any golf fan interested in purchasing this new offering from EA Sports.Don’t.This game is riddled with bugs. The menu’s are the typical antiquated ones you get with an EA Sports game. The game is locked at 30 FPS, which makes the game feel extremely sluggish and choppy. The swing mechanic is extremely unforgiving, and the game is quite difficult even on the “Easy” setting. The on-course presentation and commentary is nice, but that’s the only nice thing I have to say about this game.I’ll stick to PGA Tour 2k23, as that, in my opinion, is by FAR the more superior golf offering.Do better, EA.
