The earplugs themselves are great, but the canister does not stay secure and opened itself in my handbag a few days ago, resulting in me losing one of the plugs only a couple of weeks after purchase.I feel as if the quality of the cases have diminished since I started purchasing these earplugs a few years ago (replacing them every so often when they wear out). That being said, Earasers are the best over the counter hearing protection for musicians I have tried - I’d just recommend getting a more secure case to keep them in!

Because I have loud guitar players friends

I usually play a lot of upright/acoustic bass in situations where there is no amplification used for instruments. Lately I've been playing with electric guitar players who crank up their amps to extreme volume. I know that after being in this environment for long is going to negatively affect my hearing. I need my ears for acoustic jams. So I knew I needed some ear plugs.The associate at GC offered some pros and cons of the various models and gave me some insight to the different designs.The fit on these was good. Easy to put in and take out. Instructions were clear. On my first rehearsal with amplification they attenuated the right frequencies but still gave me enough sound to hear what was going on. My ears didn't feel sore after wearing for several hours.

Comfortable to the point I forget that I am wearing them! They have a special attenuation curve!

These are really something special. I use this for my job on a daily basis and can not work without these now! Loud noises do not bother me and I am able to have a decent conversation with another person. Be sure to check their website for details about what this product can do. They have specific certifications and minimize more of the harmful frequencies and dB. I highly recommend this product!

They really don’t cost anything when it comes down too your Heath and safety! If your friend keeps saying no earplugs sound good or I just can’t use earplugs I loose the vibe Just suggest to get a pair of Earasers you’ll be happy as Larry on stage!

Fantastic Volume Reduction

I bought the EARasers to protect my ears at concerts while retaining the sound quality. They do this really well. I was impressed at how well they retain the sound quality, but just making it quieter. I really like the little carry case they came in also. I took off one star for these because while they were easy enough to insert in the light of day, they were difficult to insert in the darkness of the concert venue. With there being a designated left and right earplug, and also an up/down/front/back, I found them a bit fussy to take in and out during the show. I like to take my earplugs out during a show for favourite songs etc., so this was difficult to do. I also found them to cause a little discomfort/pain, but this may be due to incorrect sizing.

Great Earplugs

These earplugs are comfortable in my ears and create a good seal (I got small). I can wear them for long periods of time without feeling uncomfortable. The resulting sound is not muffled like conventional foam earplugs, but very clear. You can very easily have a conversation with these in, even with a lot of background noise.It’s worth noting that these earplugs reduce different frequencies more or less. The minimum reduction is 5db with the maximum being 19db - this may not be enough for some people, but they work great for me. If you don’t want people constantly asking why you are wearing earplugs, these may be a great option for you.Some people aren’t a fan of the carrying case, but I like it. I used the Zildjian earplugs by earpeace for a short while and found that it was very easy to get them stuck in the carrying case. This doesn’t happen with this case. It easily fits in my pockets. I do think it could be slightly smaller though.Overall, I’m very happy with these earplugs.

Great ear plugs! Highly recommend this product.

Excellent product! Just don’t know why I didn’t invest in a pair of these ear plugs sooner. I went to a night club with loud electronic dance music and I could hear the music perfectly and still was able to have a conversation with friends. Highly recommend this product. I feel they will definitely help protect your ears from harmful sounds.

Hardly any noise reduction

I went to Guitar Center to replace some Hearos I misplaced and the clerk convinced me these are worth the extra money. The reality is these hardly reduce the noise level. I can tell there's some noise reduction, but you have to really pay attention to notice the difference. Needless to say, they are practically useless in a loud concert setting.

I got a pair of Earasers brand in ear hearing protection for my Birthday. These things are amazing! Perfect for practice, gigs, or going to concerts. Essentially they are passive ear plugs, but they go farther than ordinary ear plugs. In a nutshell, as I understand it, what they do is attenuate the sound levels, without attenuating certain frequencies. You still hear the music, as it is meant to be heard, just not as loud as is being played. I could still hear my Fender Acoustic-Electric 12 string clearly, I could still have a conversation with the family, but the levels were quieter. Not dull or muffled, just quieter. Loud music is kept at a tolerable, non-hearing-damaging level, and sounds great as well. I use to suffer from constant, horrific ear infections in both ears as a child, simply because water would get into the ear canal while taking a shower. The idea of voluntarily putting these into my ears was hard to get over. I'm glad I did though. These are extremely comfortable to wear. There's almost no pressure on the ears while inserted in the canal, just enough to hold them in place. They are easy to install, easier than those stupid foam ear plugs you're supposed to use for construction and stuff, and they never felt like they were in danger of falling out. I bought the size "medium" pair, and they were a perfect fit. It is important to get the correct size plugs or they either won't fit right, or won't work correctly.

I accidentally bought small and after trying them out I felt like they were much too small and liable to penetrate too far and get stuck in my ear. Earplugs are non-returnable but the manufacturer offers an exchange deal; send them the old earplugs and $7 and they will send you the correct size. So I got some mediums. The left one seems to fit OK but the right one won't go in far enough to seat correctly. This might be a problem with the shape of my ear, or possibly small was the correct size to begin with? Well, if you look at the graph in the literature that comes with them you can see that they are designed to only slightly attenuate sound until you get to the high-mid frequencies. That is, they are designed to let you hear the music and only block out the most damaging frequencies. If you don't already have tinnitis I think they would do a pretty good job of preventing it. But if, like me, you do have tinnitis they really don't work well. What people like me need is something that will block all the sound, bottom to top, very significantly. Going by their own graph, the clear winner in this is surprisingly the cheapest option, foam earplugs. The other problem with these is that they are difficult to seat properly; once you get them in it's best to leave them in until you are done. For my particular use I need to remove and reinsert earplugs everytime I need to hear what someone is saying, easy with "generic" earplugs but not with these.
