You really have to read Twilight and New Moon (in that order) first before reading Eclipse, because the author doesn’t spend too much time expounding the story-lines of the previous novels but rather drops the reader straight in to the story. You also want to read Twilight and New Moon because they are both excellent novels and, trust me, you are missing out if you haven’t read them. For teens it’s perfect! I remember when I was a teen and just in love with this saga.

I don't really like this book at all. I love to read a long book when it's worth reading, but this one could have been cut down to about half of what it is and the story would still have been relayed just fine. Where to start? First of all, Bella. She irritates me to no end in this one. Why on earth is she vacillating between Jacob and Edward?? Edward is far better than Jacob. Even if you are a member of Team Jacob, I think it's really cruel of Bella to keep hurting both guys like this. Bella has a great life, yet all she does is whine and worry and cause problems for others around her. She is very selfish. I really don't understand what either Edward *or* Jacob sees in her. What a worthless heroine.Second, I was really annoyed with how shmex-crazed Bella is. ... MoreI don't really like this book at all. Usually, it's the males who would be playing this role, yet here is Bella, constantly pushing the limits and begging Edward to do inappropriate things. Disgusting. And it gets even worse in book four. I'm sorry to use such frank languague, but there you go. I can't believe all the mothers allowing their young daughters to read this. I just like to imagine that the books stopped with New Moon, and then I can come up with my own ending.

With her high school graduation fast approaching Bella should be anticipating the milestone with the same nervous excitement that is consuming her classmates. Unfortunately things are never quite that simple in the shadowy and dangerous supernatural world she inhabits. Perhaps the least frightening of Bella's problems is her profound bond with Jacob ñ a bond that became infinitely more complicated the day Edward returned to Forks. By virtue of an ancient treaty the Cullens cannot set foot in La Push the Quileute reservation where Jacob lives; nor is the enmity one-sided: the Cullens are wary of Jacob and his pack of protectors especially when it comes to their beloved and fragile human. By virtue of an ancient treaty the Cullens cannot set foot in La Push the Quileute reservation where Jacob lives; nor is the enmity one-sided: the Cullens are wary of Jacob and his pack of protectors especially when it comes to their beloved and fragile human. Bella finds herself caught in the middle of the mythical monsters' stand-off torn between loyalty to the friend who held her together in her darkest hour and the all-consuming love she thought she'd lost forever. However when the serial killer running rampant in nearby Seattle turns out to be something far more horrifying and deadly Jacob and Edward are forced to put their rivalry aside in order to protect the human girl they both love. In the middle of the chaos as graduation looms on the horizon Bella and Edward find themselves faced with a much more monumental ñ and permanent ñ deadline: the tangled compromise that will give them both what they want most but at what cost?Eclipse is truly the climax of Stephenie Meyer's four-part Twilight Saga. As the paranormal love triangle reaches its cresendo Bella must make her final crucial choice between Jacob and the natural life he represents or Edward and the unknown. Team lines will be drawn amongst readers at the same time that they (temporarily) dissolve in Meyer's fictional world. The ancient enemies must come together to protect the mere mortal girl at the heart of the series ñ no mean feat considering the wild and bloodthirsty enemies they face. When the tension finally comes to a head and the novel's mysteries coalesce into a horrifying realization an unexpected twist will leave readers on the edge of their seats with adrenaline racing through their veins. While Eclipse still has its over-the-top sappy moments they are counteracted more than ever by the twisting and turning plotline of revenge and romance. Readers will also be treated to the dark and captivating histories of several of the saga's most inscrutable characters. These detailed backstories give depth to previously misunderstood characters who may not be as menacing as they seem. The way Meyer's characters see themselves is often quite distinct from the way they appear to the rest of the world and these complex psychologies reinforce the character-centric writing style that drives the series and makes Meyer's tale of paranormal teen romance so surprisingly engrossing. The captivating cliffhanger at the end of Eclipse will send readers rushing to the bookstore to find out what shocking surprises Meyer still has up her sleeve in the final installment of Bella and Edward's twisted fate Breaking Dawn.Rating:Premise: 4/5Plot: 4.5/5Characters: 5/5Writing: 4/5Setting: 4/5Overall: 4.3/5http://thebookishtype.blogspot.com/

Great easy reading
2 July 2020

I read and loved the Twilight series when they first came out, before the films were made. Now my 12 year old daughter is hooked and has reignited her love of reading during lockdown with the saga. Shes spending more time reading than on TikTok, so they must be good! Book was in excellent condition and arrived quickly.

Preparing for Midnight Sun release

Smooth delivery, received this book before scheduled to arrive.I can't believe it took me this long to purchase all four books in this series. I've read them multiple times and just started re-reading them again last week. Once I finished book two, my fixation forced me to finally purchase book three. Just one of my fave love stories, full of magic and passion. Plus I had to re-read them before Midnight Sun is released ! 🤩

I am a huge twilight fan, so when I saw the copy with the exclusive poster I had to get it. I love expanding my collection. This is a wonderful story to tie up many loose ends in the twilight saga. Based off of Withering Heights so youre gonna get a good read. In this installation Vella must face her own selfishness and choose between Edward who is the love of her life, and Jacob who she is inexplicably drawn too. Edward struggles with his guilt from leaving in new moon and his possessiveness. Jacob struggles with unrequited love. Read it! You wont regret it.

I ordered a used book, so I was expecting it to be damaged but I didn’t have a problem with that. But when the book arrived I was totally surprised to find out that the book wasn’t damaged at all, in fact I don’t think anybody used it. The book it’s in perfect conditions, it doesn’t even have a scratch, and it even came with some stickers!I am more than happy with this store. Definitely buying again!

Third Installment In The Twilight Saga Deserves 5 Stars

You really want to have read Twilight and New Moon (in that order) first before reading Eclipse, because the author doesn't spend too much time expounding the story-lines of the previous novels but rather drops the reader straight in to the story. You also want to read Twilight and New Moon because they are both excellent novels and, trust me, you are missing out if you haven't read them.Eclipse carries on not long after New Moon left off. Bella's high school graduation is approaching and she will soon be leaving Forks forever, ostensibly to go to college - but in reality she is planning to join her boyfriend. This is only one part of the story though. Eclipse is primarily a romantic saga, so Bella and Edward's relationship is the primary focus of the novel. Or as I should say Bella, Edward and Jacob's relationship - because there is a love triangle in the plot of this novel. Then the enmity between vampires and werewolves put a huge strain on their friendship. Besides which, Jacob is in love with Bella, who is in love with Edward so this is going to make things awkward between them.At this point, Eclipse descends into soap opera territory - Bella has found her soul mate in Edward but Jacob is the soul mate she should have / could have / would have had if Edward didn't exist. She loves him too but not as much as Edward. Why she loves Jacob is beyond me - he knows that she loves Edward but Jacob still tries to make her feel guilty that she can't love him like he wants her too. Blatant emotional blackmail is unattractive whatever way you serve it up and it detracted from his otherwise fine character.Eclipse is still a really good read. The book didn't feel like it was over 600 pages long, I literally flew through the pages and had to make a conscious effort to slow down my reading so I didn't finish the whole book in a couple of sittings. For teens already hooked on the series, Eclipse is another solid instalment of Forks goodness. Adult readers may be put off by the teenage relationship angst in this novel but if you have already enjoyed the author's previous offerings I think there is still plenty here to entertain. It will be intriguing to see where Stephenie Meyer takes the ideas and characters in this series next. Writing for the Young Adult market always means that there is some expectation for the author to set a good example for impressionable young minds yet criticisms that Bella's character is too dependent and needs to set a better example for young women seem unfair. This is romantic fantasy - enjoy it!5 Stars!
