5 stars is not enough. The craftsmanship of this machine is incredible. One of my favorite features that is not mentioned anywhere is that there is a hidden menu option that tells you group head temperature. The Oled screen is really easy to navigate. But what made this machine 6 stars was the amazing customer service i got before and after buying it. The only negative not so negative thing is that the baskets that come with the single and double spout are Italian, so small and angled inward which I find harder to brew. I recommend adding the IMS Nanotech Baskets which are very inexpensive. Also the bottomless portafilter which came separately has what looks like some defects and stains on the chrome.

This was a big step for me espresso machine-wise. I couldn’t be more pleased with the ECM Synchronika 2. The physical design and quality of materials and workmanship are extraordinary. The polished finish make cleaning up easy (the drip tray usually just requires a quick rinse).Programming the various feature settings is very straightforward and easy. The brewing and steam boilers heat up very fast. By the time I’ve measured and ground the beans, the brew boiler is almost up to temperature. My experience purchasing from Whole Latte Love was completely satisfying to me. They conducted a video conference and walked me through and demonstrated the 2 espresso machines I was considering. The sales support were knowledgeable and very helpful. First upgrade

This is the first upgrade from my Breville. I wanted a high end machine that I can work on. It was easy to set up and I am still learning the proper grind size for the machine with different coffee’s. The taste is way better and less bitter. I use medium and light roast coffee and it brings out the flavors I want. The quality of the ECM is more than I expected and it looks great. I will have this for many years to come. I have to mention the customer service. When I first ordered the ECM I paid for a special order before it was available on the site. When the site finally started to sell them they were at a lower price. I emailed them and they matched their own price. Great customer service!

Last upgrade you'll ever need
30 October 2024

This was an upgrade to my Breville Infuser that I had for 8 years. It was meant to be the last upgrade that I'll ever need to make. The Synchronika IS that machine. It's gorgeous and extremely solid. There are so many ways to adjust the brew that i can keep learning the more I use it. This machine heats up fast (my first E61) and has so much power I can make latte's in half the time of the Infuser. It's a more complex machine and harder to dial in, but it makes the espresso that much better and honestly, more rewarding. The cost is definitely on the high end, but you get what you pay for. The details and power of this machine means you will never need to upgrade anymore. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and just get this machine.

Love my Synch 2
21 November 2024

So far so good! Have had this mid October 2024 and it's been a real joy. Great build quality. Quiet rotary pump. Heats up in 14 minutes (6 minutes for brew boiler, then 7 minutes for steam boiler at 263F). It heats the boilers in sequence, not simultaneously. Built in programmable timer ensures it's at temp for when I wake up. Was extremely well packaged and arrived without incident. My only complaint is water reservoir depletes rather quickly, filling it every two days when doing 2 to 3 milk drinks per day. Cheers, beers, and espressos!

Luxury class
8 December 2024

The Synchronika II represents the luxury class of E61 machines. With only minimal attention to puck preparation, shots are smooth and consistent every time. The different methods of pre-infusion can be used to introduce subtle layers of flavor, but the machine pours great shots without any specified pre-infusion.Everything on the machine feels solid and the fit/finish is top notch. It’s a little wider than my previous machine, but that’s to be expected with a DB. The programmable PID menus are intuitive, with access from a knob rather than buttons, and the screen clarity is excellent. It did not take long to set up.I didn’t have an opportunity to test-drive the other E61 machines in this class, but I can’t imagine one providing significantly better espresso. After years of using an E61 HX machine, the Synchronika reaches an entire new level. My wife’s comment was: “Wow…this is the best espresso I've ever had…better than any coffee shop I can remember. ” That pretty much sums it up.

Needs some work
23 October 2024

I was going to order a Synchronia 1st edition to replace my 10 year old Rocket R58 (it still works perfectly, by the way). When I found out this was coming soon, I decided to wait. It's a very good looking, solid built machine. However, it has one aggravating flaw. I originally thought it may be operator error. However, I was told by Whole Latte Love tech support that I am not the only one with this issue. After setting the Pre infusion using the PID, then turning the machine off with the switch, it resets to the factory seting or turns completly off when you turn the machine back on. I noticed that if I leave the switch on and let the machine turn off and on with the timer, it remains the way I set it. I noticed that if I leave the switch on and let the machine turn off and on with the timer, it remains the way I set it. You have to use the PID control to pre infuse your coffee. There is no way to just turn it off and use the brew lever like my old Rocket. If you set the pre infusion to "off" with the PID, it's just off. No preinfusion. So far, all of the other PID settings seem to work fine. This may seem like a trivial issue. However, with accessories, this thing cost over $4,000.00. I would have thought that the manufacturer would have worked out all of the bugs before selling it to consumers. I do feel confident that the Whole Late Love team is going to make sure this issue is resolved. Let's see what happens.

New ECM

It takes a while to learn how to use this machine. Not only that, the grinder tamping and steaming is a learning curve. I did two coffee casts and both times the person was not familiar enough with the machine to be as helpful as I had hoped. I learned how to steam via tube. I think for this price point someone who is knowledgable about the machine should be there to assist in setting up and getting familiar with it. There are some things I need to know is this normal . How often should I do specific things like backflushing cleaning etc.

Nice Machine
12 December 2024

The machine itself is very nice and easy to use. I received this unit instead of the Synchronika II which is what I originally ordered. Very heavy unit at almost 90 lbs. The display is a bit of a pain to operate but not impossible. I ordered the flow control and the gauge either came broken or broken within the week (I didn't notice so can't say for sure). It's been one week that I reported the broken gauge and I"m still waiting for the replacement to be shipped. Initial shipping was super quick, though incorrect. Shipment of the replacement part leaves a lot to be desired. Machine itself 5 stars.

Coming from a Breville Oracle touch, there is a learning curve to this top of the line machine but once you make it around that hairpin, this machine is a breeze to pull shots from. The National Espresso Machine Finals was between this bad boy and the LMLM, watching a ton of videos on YT and Reddit 2cent-ers. I ended up swaying German with NO regrats, not even a single letter.Set up was a breeze, read the manual so you get a gist of how to navigate the menus. Warm up times were faster than the Breville which is amazing considering a 54 vs. E61 group head.Pump pressure is great, frothing is a breeze once you get hang of it (nothing negative against the machine more of learning curve of the user).Fit and finish- it’s a beautiful machine, I opted for the non wood ... MoreComing from a Breville Oracle touch, there is a learning curve to this top of the line machine but once you make it around that hairpin, this machine is a breeze to pull shots from. The National Espresso Machine Finals was between this bad boy and the LMLM, watching a ton of videos on YT and Reddit 2cent-ers.
