This is a rare negative review because most of my purchases have been flawless on Let's E-Bike but I've run into an issue with this unit not powering from the cigarette port. I've reached out to EcoFlow customer service and they're giving me the run around while only owning the unit for less than a year (2 year warranty). They expect me to send the unit in for repairs while I tell them that the unit is being used for a relatives ventilator. I politely asked them to sent me another unit and I'll send the old one back in the box due to this issue and I still haven't heard anything back. Buyers beware and understand when you're dealing with tech items especially power banks you need to know the company stands behind their products warranty. The new replacement they sent me works like a champ. Charges from 0-100 in around 30 minutes which is awesome. The customer service rep took care of the issue so I give the product 5 stars based on a great product and the customer service issue was handled.

The Ecoflow River Pro is a good mid-sized Battery Generator. I have experience with half a dozen or so brands in this sector and while there is no perfect unit, this one is very good. Some highlights:-Excellent monitor! Very easy to read and has all the data you'd want. It shows which devices are pushing power and how many watts through each, the amount of time until it's discharged or charged, how many watts are going out or in, the exact battery percentage and more. I would say in this sector EcoFlow has the best monitor on the market.-App access to the unit. It shows which devices are pushing power and how many watts through each, the amount of time until it's discharged or charged, how many watts are going out or in, the exact battery percentage and more. I would say in this sector EcoFlow has the best monitor on the market.-App access to the unit. You can access the unit from your phone if it's connected to your router and there is a way to direct connect with wifi. From there you have several options to control the unit including turning ports on and off, adjusting the speed of charging, adjusting the max charge percentage which is beneficial for controlling the battery health over time, adjusting the DC charge input so you don't blow fuses in your car if you don't have a high output ability (can adjust from 4 amps to 8 amps), you can update the firmware (great for adding features or fixing bugs in the future) and more. You can see all information that you can see from the monitor.-You can set AC, Screen and Unit timeout mode so you can control how long it will stay on before shutting off which is key if you have a device that draws low power as many units will kick it off if there isn't a significant power draw.-X-Boost. This feature is very helpful in certain situations but you need to be careful with it. It allows you to use devices that require more than 600 watts by lowering the voltage of output. So it won't put out more than 600 watts but it can allow you to run items like heat guns or tools up to 1,200 watts by lowering the voltage output. Warning: some items can be damaged by low voltage such as electronics like computers etc. so I recommend you keep this off unless you know what you're doing and know if the device can accept power with lowered voltage.-Charge time is insanely fast! I've seen up to 665 watts in from AC and you don't realize how handy this is until you use it. Some of my battery generators can only take a max of 67 watts in and it's night and day difference on how quickly you can charge this and get back up and running. I recommend slow charging it (you can change it in the app) when you don't need it fast as it should extend battery life but this is the feature I find myself enjoying the most. In 1 hour I can get to 83% charged from 0%.-My experience in asking questions with support has been positive with their staff replying quickly and answering my questions.-Internal power supply! No carrying a big brick charger around, just need a power cord.-Very quiet charging. You can adjust it to high speed to keep the machine cool during charging which I do to prolong the components if I don't need it quiet but it's nice to have the option to keep it quiet during charging or use. What could be improved:-I wish they'd add a battery percentage cut off in addition to their max charge rate. Example: I want to set it so my battery stops charging automatically at 85% (which you can do) and set it so it will quit discharging at 20%. This would allow me to leave it on and unattended and not worry about straining the batteries thereby far exceeding their advertised life cycle (which is 800 cycles from 100% to 0% before the battery can hold 80% of it's original capacity).-Increase the AC inverter efficiency. It's about 80-82% efficient which isn't bad for this segment. It's about average, but while we're making a list of wishes it would be nice to see that come up a little.-Add a physical button to shut wifi on and off. As it is, the wifi is on constantly and it doesn't draw much power (tech support says 2-3 watts) but I'd like the ability to shut if off when I'm camping and don't need it.-Use Lithium Phosphate as the battery chemistry instead of Lithium Ion. There is a trade off here and I understand why they choose Lithium Ion as it is lighter/takes up less space for the same capacity compared to Lithium Phosphate and it handles cold weather operation better. So an argument could easily be made for why these mobile / camping units are best suited for Lithium Ion however I like the idea of having the extra cycle counts and safer chemistry that Lithium Phosphate allows.-Add a cabinet to hold the power cords so you don't ever have to worry about forgetting anything. If they made the unit a tad bit bigger and added a place to store the cables that would be awesome although I know that increases size and some may not appreciate that. Overall this unit is superb. I purchased it from Costco for full price and am not being paid for this review. I just really thought it was a very well done unit and worth a run down after some time with it. There are other good units on the market too, but in this wattage range this one may be the best money can buy as of the time of this review.

Just bought the River Pro this month and have been testing it out on various things around the house. Like running a 55” TV with the DVR, external Speaker system, TV ears, Roku, and USB hard drive plugged in to the TV which runs an average of 180 watts per hour. It ran a full 4 hours. Another test was it ran my refrigerator for 8 hours. The other night we lost power for a few hours and used the River pro to watch TV. Other things like the refrigerator, fans, etc were plugged into other battery backups we have.Tested car charger and it puts out 101 watts constantly.Tested solar charging and for the type of day it was it was getting on average 109 watts. One note about this is that I already have some GoalZero products so I use a GoalZero Nomad 200w solar panel. I bought this unit and two "smart batteries" to go with it. This unit charges fine but does not seem to recognize when one of the external batteries is attached. They had me return the two external batteries to have the firmware updated. Eight days later the batteries were back and seem to be working as expected. Rating the product alone I'd give it 5 stars. I now own 3 Ecoflow solar generators, two extra batteries and 2 solar panels. The products are durable, work well and the digital display is the nicest I've seen in the portable generator market. This customer support experience has cost Ecoflow a star as there seems to be some training needed in the first support level.
This unit came well packaged, and fast. We had been looking for a home solar generator to supplement our dual fuel generator in case of an outage. The pros: It charges extremely fast. My experience was 3% to 100% in about an hour plugged in. This was good because if I had to charge it up with my generator, that means less fuel used. I assume the solar charging capabilities would be the same .My first test, and the main reason I bought it was to keep my 7cu ft deep freezer running. I charged to 100% before use and then plugged it in. The unit took the load and ran it perfectly overnight, about 12 hours. You can see the voltage load from the freezer cycling off and on and our freezer stabilizes at about 550- 600 watts after a brief surge. You can see the voltage load from the freezer cycling off and on and our freezer stabilizes at about 550- 600 watts after a brief surge. The Ecoflow handled it perfectly. The next test I did was attach my surge protector power strip to it and plugged both of my freezers 7cu ft freezers into the power strip. The Ecoflow handled both perfectly again but for a shorter time, about 6-7 hours. I could have run it probably a bit longer, say 8-10 but I was about to go to sleep and didn't want it to die overnight. This test was pretty acceptable for me because I could potentially see using the solar gen in an emergency power outage overnight and charging it back up with my propane gen the next day. For a temporary outage, this would be fine for a few days to a few weeks if you have enough fuel or a big solar panel to recharge it. The price is also really good! I got a $30 instant savings coupon and got mine for about $540 us tax. For the money, this is a solid first of supplemental power system. If you combined this with a generator or even two of these, I think it would be very useful in a temporary power outage to keep most things going until the power comes back on. The drawback: It took me a bit of searching but I found the charge cycle stays which state this unit is good for about 500 charges from zero to 100% before it starts to degrade. That seems like a lot except if your looking at an extended power outage or if it's going to be used in an area with no power, that's a little over a year. I'm also pretty sure the max solar wattage it will take is 200 watts. That's kind of on the smaller side if you are a prepper or living off grid. But for most backyard preparedness minded people, that should be fine. Hopefully that helps, overall im very happy with the performance for the money. I will probably be looking I to buying either a second unit to rotate the charge/use cycles and extend the life of the units or possibly something bigger with a higher charge cycle life in the future.
Planning for a camping trip was complicated by the need for a power supply for my wife's CPAP machine. It consumes 20 watts, so I needed 160 watt-hours of battery at a bare minimum The EcoFlow River's 288 seemed like a good size, as it provides a generous margin above that. Testing at home before we headed out confirmed that it was drawn down to about 40% of capacity after one night's sleep. I also bought a 100 watt solar panel, hoping that there would be adequate sun during our trip to charge it up, and also confirmed that this would work. It did. Our trip was scheduled months in advance, and I had to cross my fingers on the weather. As it turned out the entire week was pretty cloudy at our campsite. Another site nearby had 110 V power, and so I was able to charge the River there each day in less than an hour. But I can't blame the River for the weather. I'm happy with its different functions, the useful information on the display, and the fact that I can use it at home during the occaisional power outages to power our wifi router, charge phones, etc. I'll try to maintain it's charge level at around 75% for storage between camping trips to prolong its useful lifetime, and do more camping to get our money's worth. The CPAP is a new fact of life, and this gizmo keeps it from limiting our mobility.
I get nervous about power outages, especially after a storm took out power for 9 days some years ago and I didn't have much back up at the time. (Side note: found out solar-powered yard lights worked through most of the night, so I'd bring them in for a little light.) I borrowed a gas generator after a few days, but it was loud, dirty and gas had to be hauled in; the refrigerator had already 'died'. I first bought a small Ecoflow 600 generator, which helped get through 2 days out power out when repairs were being made; I could run the refrigerator half hour every four hours, but I did need to charge it up at my neighbors (quick charge -- beautiful, and thanks!) As my budget allowed, I bought the larger generator, and now added extra battery to both. I don't "app" ... MoreI get nervous about power outages, especially after a storm took out power for 9 days some years ago and I didn't have much back up at the time. I borrowed a gas generator after a few days, but it was loud, dirty and gas had to be hauled in; the refrigerator had already 'died'. I don't "app" anything, and so far have not needed to communicate with these generators via my phone -- which is good, because when the original storm hit, my cell phone was in my car and I could not get to it nor easily charge it. I don't count on cell phones working, too much can go wrong too easily with them. During power out, I did run light, small DVD player, coffee maker (I didn't try running modem / tv at the time). I have run electric chainsaw, greenhouse light strings (minimal heat for plants), drill and similar with these units.
Having frequent power outages has been frustrating over the years, where my wife and I live. She has no immune system and has to do an infusion weekly. Her medication has to be refrigerated. So, we have had a cooler, and ice packs ready for when the power goes out.I started looking into gas-powered generators, but they were costly and noisy. Our power is usually only out, 3-6 hours. But, has been off as much as 15 hours. Then, I started looking at electric power supplies. After a lot of research, I found that the EcoFlo RIVER pro power station was the one for my needs. I watched a ton of YouTube videos and saw the good and the bad reviews. I watched a ton of YouTube videos and saw the good and the bad reviews. But, ultimately decided to make the purchase. As I did a google search on the EcoFlow RIVER pro, of course many companies had great sale prices. But, Backyard Provider had an almost too good to be true price. But, the reviews were solid for them. Their website is intuitive and I was able to check out with ease. I received my EcoFlow RIVER pro in about 5 days.I unpacked the unit and set it up. The unit only ships with about 35% battery life, so I charged it up. Having only taking about an hour or so to fully charge, I was ready. In the YouTube videos I watched, one of them showed that this little unit could power a full-sized refrigerator for 10-12 hours. Well, wouldn’t you know it, the power went out that day. I plugged in my refrigerator and to my amazement, it said on the display, that it would keep power to that refrigerator for 12 hours. Although the power was only out for a few hours, I felt really confident now that my wife’s medication would remain cold without the hassle of a cooler and ice packs. Of course, you can plug in so much more to the EcoFlow RIVER pro. It even has a solar power option. AND, it only weighs 16 pounds. Thanks to Backyard Provider, and the EcoFlow RIVER pro, I am no longer skeptical. They have great pricing on so many items. I will be making the purchase in the near future on the secondary battery, which goes along tandem with the main unit.
I have a full size mini-frig with a separate 14" square freezer built in on top. I ran it from the full Ecoflow River battery charge for exactly 4 hours and still had 45% charge left. I also ran that same frig, plus the LED light on the Ecoflow battery on high, a small oscillating fan on high and a standard size table lamp with an LED bulb; all turned off right at 3 hours. NOTE: The refrigerator/freezer in a real world need to use the battery, could be turned up on the temps slightly so the compressor wouldn't kick on quite as much and therefore getting a bit more runtime from the Ecoflow. As far as charging, you will not be disappointed especially if you have used/researched other similar solar battery generators. As far as charging, you will not be disappointed especially if you have used/researched other similar solar battery generators. I personally have two other brands I tried out (now taking back and keeping Ecoflow). Both brands were slightly smaller wattage units than Ecoflow River and one took 8 hours to fully charge. The other took 6 hours, 45 minutes. Ecoflow River took 2 hours for a full charge from my wall outlet and the same from the car charger (I was surprised). I only turned on my car ignition to ACC (first turn/push button) and turned off the stereo/infotainment screen, shut the door and rolled down the driver's window, lean through and hit all locks button. This will turn off all interior lights (late model cars). Make sure all parking lights, headlights and other accessories are off (like car cams). This all takes less drain on car battery as it is working to charge the Ecoflow. I used solar panels (found a good third party compatible brand-good price at $150) and they charged 8% in an hour from a 120 watt panels set. See below link. Not great but I guess expected. I probably won't use it much but it was a really good price compared to others so I wanted to give it a try. I will keep it because it came with all the correct cables/connectors.
I bought a Ecoflow River Plus to be used as a backup power source for the heating system of a reptile tank. I picked the EF option over alternatives because ecoflow explicitly states that their product can function as a UPS and - importantly - uses bypass power, meaning the battery should not be used while AC power is enabled and should only be used when the power goes out. Well, in short, most of that is not actually true.First off, the bypass power seems to be a lie. Actually, the EF continuously charges and discharges when plugged in making it not a good option for continuous use. While in early software versions it seems like actual bypass was happening, over the course of the last year several updates have been released and it is now showing constant charge ... MoreI bought a Ecoflow River Plus to be used as a backup power source for the heating system of a reptile tank. Actually, the EF continuously charges and discharges when plugged in making it not a good option for continuous use. While in early software versions it seems like actual bypass was happening, over the course of the last year several updates have been released and it is now showing constant charge and discharge. Then reliability issues started: my unit was malfunctioning so EF sent me an exchange which was faulty, a second exchange which was also defective. Then they told me the EF River Plus is being discontinued and offered a River Max as a replacement. The first one of those was (you might guess) also broken until finally the second replacement worked. So now, 1 year after my original purchase, we had a planned power outage so I hooked up the EF River Max to the tank's heating system and thought I was good - wrong! In the middle of the night the EF decided that it didn't want to keep the AC power on and just switched it off, thereby taking the whole heating system offline and putting my animals at risk. This is not because it ran out of power but completely random. When I woke up the next day I could enable AC again via the app and could see that the EF never switched off or ran out of power - it just switched of AC for no particular reason. So, long story short: if you need a reliable power solution, look elsewhere because the EF products clearly have some quality or reliability issues that the company needs to figure out.
