I bought these for work based on the reviews for it. I love listening to music, watching YouTube, movies, and TV in my free time. I use a pair of older Bose computer speakers that cost almost $400 that I bought like 3 years ago. These things blow those out of the water. I'm telling you, if you're looking for a serious listening experience, this is it. The look great, good build, fantastic sound. For those of you worried about the bass, it's definitely there, but its no sub woofer.

As a college student, I don’t have a ton of room to work with, so everything needs to be really effective and not take up a lot of space. That’s why these speakers are a great choice. They’re pretty small, I can connect both my TV and turntable to them, and they put out great sound. The dials on the side make adjusting the bass, treble, and volume pretty simple. Getting them connected was easy as well and everything you need is in the box. The wood finish is a nice look, and the remote is sleek and easy to use. I downloaded the app as well and it’s pretty straightforward and simple to use as well. Based on the sound quality of these speakers, I’ll be using them for years to come. I’d recommend these to anyone who wants a great pair of speakers that can fit anywhere. ... MoreAs a college student, I don’t have a ton of room to work with, so everything needs to be really effective and not take up a lot of space. I'm not going to lie, I thought these things were going to be horrible toys. The wood finish and knobs on the side just reminded me of a cheap toy speaker that came with a generic PC. Yes, I saw the reviews of people saying that they were happy with their choice of these speakers. So gave it a shot because I was ready for a bigger presence on my desk than the Audioengine A2s(overpriced $250) that I had. The lack of more filling bass had reached its conclusion with those. So after failing to find any speakers that would go with my setup ( needed to find speakers that had dual RCA connections inputs)...I ran into these at best buy but couldn't test them until I got home. After I got home and first listened, I was totally underwhelmed and was ready to take them back. ... MoreI'm not going to lie, I thought these things were going to be horrible toys. After I got home and first listened, I was totally underwhelmed and was ready to take them back. But then I added my stands with tilt under them and allow them a couple of hours to warm up. After that, the sound started to fill in better and tilt gave it more life. I heard more spacious and directional sounds from them over the A2s and of course more bass, finally. Now I'm sure there are better bass tones from other speakers( I would give them a 7 out of 10 for bass quality) but having the convenience of the dual connection for my DJ Deck and my PC with a remote and separate EQ was starting to grow on me big time. It was so nice not to have to go to my PC or speakers to turn up/down the sound while mixing or having to pull out RCA cables for one, then the other when I was ready to use them. Before I knew it, I was sitting at my computer desk and starting to appreciate more and more with each hour that passed. At the end of the day, I would give this speaker set a 7.5 out of 10. There is beauty found in them for the right needs but they aren't game-changing and yes they could be better, but these are $119 and at that price, you are getting more than what you paid for. So at the end of the day, I believe that is the goal for any tech product, to give back more than what the owner paid for.

The Edifier speakers are absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! The sound that comes out of them is beyond excellent. They also fit perfectly on my desk and look great. You will not find a better deal on speakers or better bookshelf speakers anywhere. The write-up on eBay stated that the speakers may have some scratches and so forth. This was NOT the case. The speakers I received were in perfect condition in the original box with all the plastic wrapping still on them. Except for the box probably having been cut open at the top, everything was in new condition and nothing was missing from the box. The speakers were also very easy to connect to my satellite radio system and the wires connecting the two speakers were easily and securely connected to each other in a matter of ... MoreThe Edifier speakers are absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!! What can I say? These Edifier speakers are absolutely dynamite and the price I paid for them was ridiculously low! This is one of the best purchases I've ever made online.
Bought these in brown color to break the drab black theme I have that dominates the rest of my gear and I must say that they look very classy and brighten up my workspace.Box and packaging was solid and each speaker was cradled within it's protective styrofoam shell, also in the box comes the instructions and all the necessary cables that you need to get you started.Upon unpacking the speakers I noticed a nice bit of hefty weight to them which tells me these are of good quality.Decided to use these wirelessly from my computer via it's built in Bluetooth / Wi-Fi connection, setup was flawless and from there onwards tuning the speakers bass frequency from my systems audio properties was simple and fun as this is where I could notice the speakers range in more ... MoreBought these in brown color to break the drab black theme I have that dominates the rest of my gear and I must say that they look very classy and brighten up my workspace.Box and packaging was solid and each speaker was cradled within it's protective styrofoam shell, also in the box comes the instructions and all the necessary cables that you need to get you started.Upon unpacking the speakers I noticed a nice bit of hefty weight to them which tells me these are of good quality.Decided to use these wirelessly from my computer via it's built in Bluetooth / Wi-Fi connection, setup was flawless and from there onwards tuning the speakers bass frequency from my systems audio properties was simple and fun as this is where I could notice the speakers range in more detail.I have been using them as my home studio monitors for my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 channel audio interface for a little over 6 months now and they've been just perfect with no issues.Beautiful rich sound in the trebles and mids with very impressive lower end response, however, you will be restricted to it's size if you're one who likes heavy bass. The impressive:Weight overall isn't too heavy.Color scheme looks classy.Good Bluetooth connection.Nice acoustic sound.Removable speaker covers.Easy to use remote with track skip feature. What sucked:For an older model it is still a little expensive.Lack of input / output options.Cables seem cheap which I replaced.Overall these are a decent set of monitors, wired or wireless these prove to be worthy of my small home studio setup and are a pleasure on the ears.
The R1280Ts have great sound, both in the near field and off axis. They are very accurate and articulate across their stated frequency response - all different instruments and voices are distinct, clear and clean. The high end has presence and clarity without harshness. Cymbals are beautifully reproduced. They excel at reproducing vocals, guitar, flute, cello and violin, etc. Bass is tight and very good for their size with an F3 of 75Hz. They do lack the deep low end of bigger enclosures and/or sub woofer - so no T. rex stomps or earthquake rumbles. These match up well with a Blue Snowball, or equivalent. For low frequency content like bass guitar, kick drum thunk, or if your guitarist does dive bombs into bass frequencies, they are adequate but not great. If you have high end mics and interface, you will miss some sonic content.Overall - happy camper :: so very much better than "budget" speakers at a cost far less than high end gear. If your workstation requires audiophile monitors, and you can pony up serious $$$, then do that. Otherwise, these will do the job quite well for a lot less $$$.
I bought these little bookshelf computer speakers for my new home office setup. First impression is how good they look with their real wood side panels! I opted to remove the covers to reveal the driver units & bass reflex ports. They weigh in at about 2 kilos each, & measure 14.5cm (W) x 24cm (H) x 16cm (D). The speakers are easy to set up. The right speaker is the active one, and has 2 sets of L & R RCA (phono) line-level inputs. The 2 units are connected together using a supplied length of speaker wire. One minor niggle is it would have been nice if this speaker could have been switched to be the right or left one, to aid positioning. In practice, though, this can be achieved by simply reversing the inputs. One minor niggle is it would have been nice if this speaker could have been switched to be the right or left one, to aid positioning. In practice, though, this can be achieved by simply reversing the inputs. The right speaker has a rocker power switch at the back, and the mains lead is permanently attached- I would have liked it if it could be unplugged! It also has volume, treble & bass controls on the right panel. It would have been useful to also have a balance control, although this can be adjusted using your computer's sound control panel. The sound is very clear, if a little bass & treble heavy- the frequency response curve seems to be a tad U-shaped. This can be easily tweaked though, using your computer's graphic equaliser control panel (I have RealTek HD Audio Manager). They sound great at low volume, and they can achieve quite a high volume as well (42W RMS total). The instruction manual gives very little information on how to position the speakers for the best sound- but I guess these days, most people don't bother to read the instructions anyway! Overall, I love my new speakers, and they are sounding better now after about a week of running them in. They are good value as well.
I am very satisfied with my Edifier speakers. The many positive reviews I read before making my purchase were very helpful in making my decision. I find myself in agreement with most of the customers who's reviews I read concerning quality of sound, design and construction. The Edifier R120T speakers are solidly built, they look great and the sound is very impressive. They live in my kitchen/office where I have them connected to an FM tuner, a CD player and occasionally my laptop. With more than 20 times the cost of the Edifiers invested in my home stereo speakers and amplification, there isn't much comparison and yet, the R120T's have transformed the room I spend so much time in lately, into another great space for music. With more than 20 times the cost of the Edifiers invested in my home stereo speakers and amplification, there isn't much comparison and yet, the R120T's have transformed the room I spend so much time in lately, into another great space for music. They really pack a big punch for their size and sound great at high volume but, more importantly for someone trying to preserve a pair of 67 year old ears, the sound quality they produce at lower volume is just as impressive and by experimenting with placement and positioning, I've created a very satisfying sound stage (Image is everything) in one corner of a small room. What would I change? The low end is amazing for such small speakers but, I actually find myself turning the bass down with many music sources so, as helpful as the bass/treble knobs are in achieving optimum tonal balance, I would have preferred the "0" setting on the bass control to be somewhat less bass as a starting point but, that's only my personal taste. The power switch would be more conveniently located on the side control panel and the power indicator light should obviously be on the front of the speaker. Oh well, nothing's perfect but, for the price, these speakers come pretty close. Over all, I'm very happy with my choice.
These speakers definitely bring more than expected. They have great, but not excellent, sound. The bass is definitely much better than I expected, and I was buying these based from reviews and the price. The speakers are hefty, have decent magnets based by the weight and sound quality. Only downside is the equalizer on the side. I can adjust the bass and treble, and is fine except when turning either to the extreme positive end, you can hear the compression of the opposite. Meaning when turning up treble it's fine until it reaches the extreme + side, where you can hear the bass being cut rather than treble added, and the same is true for the bass.Because this is only at the extreme ends of either, I just keep them lower in my settings and they sound fine. ... MoreThese speakers definitely bring more than expected. (Extreme being the last 1/16 of the turn approximately)They really are good speakers, as I am using them as studio monitors and they haven't given any kind of issues. I would recommend these to a friend, for sure.
I used to have a set of Bose computer speakers and they were okay, but I was ready to move up the ladder on sound reproduction. I have a small room from which my computer sits and so I knew that I really didn't need to blow out the windows, but with the fine tuning these have, I would more than welcome the sound that they produced. Just the information sheets state, the bass and mid's are of the best quality for these nice looking speakers. I was very enthusiatic about the sound that would be coming into the room with my computer that was hand made by one of my nephews that used to work for Microsoft, so I knew he knew what he was doing when it came to towers. So, after rearranging my wiring, I got them hooked up and slid in a cd and off I went to the sounds of 3rd Force, (instrumental) music.. I started out at a 3 level, then slowly moved on up the scale until it was blasting out and my ears couldn't take it. I moved the bass and treble around and found a good curve to hold it to. There is not a lot of adjustment to make with the knobs, but I have a stereo equalizer with the system and can adjust them a little better. They sound great. I really don't like highs, so that didn't bother me, as much as it does with not being able to set the bass and mid's. They look good and sound better. I am happy I made this choice.
