I purchased an EGO mower last year and was delighted with its performance so when my 25 yo Stihl died and could not be revived I did not hesitate to add the line trimmer to my shed. The power is vicious. I only use it on low speed and its more than ample for any of my needs. Have not yet had to put new line in it tho, am sure it would live up to expectations. The overall weight is not an issue, the unit is well balanced with the big battery on it. I only paid $219 for it at Trade Tools (comparable with Stihl replacement) so I dont know where the $300 + price tag comes from ??RgdsRussell - Brisbane

I have been using the Ego Anti-Clockwise line trimmer in my gardening business for 5 weeks now. It's now my go to trimmer for my regular domestic clients. I can easily trim and edge 3-4 domestic properties on one 5ah battery without the battery flashing red. I still use my 2-Stroke for heavy slashing, but use the Ego for all my regular clients with well maintained lawns. Quiet, clean and easy to start. No smoke and no need for hearing protection. Much easier to use than petrol.

purchased the line trimmer on line, so when i picked it up from Sydney Tools a couple of days later I was super impressed. I had thought that it would be like so many battery operated trimmers... about 3/4 size. This is a full sized trimmer, quality construction and quick load head. I have an EGO chainsaw, so I have a 2.5AHr battery already, and wanted to test on that before I buy another battery. It went for more than 30min, so I will probably just buy another 2.5AHr battery, because they charge so quickly, and I need a cup of tea every half hour anyway ;-)

We bought my new Ego line trimmer over a month ago, still loving it for its power, weight balance and easy use.
My property is so steep i cant use a mower so my line trimmer is it , the amount of work it has done is incredible, i used to work as a grounds person so hate two strokes, i live on acerage and it maintains it all, well abive my expectations.
I have just started using this machine and find it every bit as good as a petrol driven machine. Less noise and no smell. Great.
I have both shoulders replaced so can't use petrol pull start. It is a wonderful machine to operate, and the guard is in a sensible place, not like some others which have it above head where it's difficult to see what you're doing
