I had been looking at battery gardening equipment to replace the petrol gear. I had not heard of the Ego brand before, but saw their products in the stores which looked well-made, quality stuff. After doing some research online, I decided to buy the power multi tool kit, with the pole saw, hedge trimmer and line trimmer attachments. I have been impressed with the quality of all the products and so far they have performed as well as my petrol equipment, without the inconveniences of fuel, filters, spark plugs, etc. I wish I had bought the Ego mower instead of the Makita battery mower (DLM464).

Great tool. Line trimmer also comes with accessories need to fit the brush cutter blade so save just go and find a brush cutter blade instead of buying the whole kit. You just need to by a brush cutter blade with 25.4mm (1 inch) internal diameter mounting hole, unscrew the bottom section of the safety guard and swap over the bade using adapters provided. All super easy and tools needed to do the job are proved in the line trimmer kit.Lots of power. 2.5AH battery doesn't last too long in VERY HEAVY grass but will be fine for most stuff.

I'm a 60+ female who had a lot of trouble starting our petrol Line Trimmer and too impatient to wait for MM to do the job. I decided to buy an electric Line Trimmer. It is fantastic. I've managed to clean back overgrown grass along the paving. It makes the yard look so much tidier. Another great EGO purchase!

I brought line trimmer attachment last week. I have only used it once but the quality was clear. Firstly the coupling was a lot smoother, more ridged and easier to use than my old brand trimmer. One thing that stood out was just how much power it had at low torque. I only used about half the rpms of my petrol trimmer. The head was easy to load line onto and again much higher quality than my old trimmer.The cons,The counter clockwise rotation was a little disorienting.The support handle on the power head was flimsy and too low.Over all very happy and cant wait to use it again.
Bought the multi-tool system and the multi-tool line trimmer attachment recently. Have used it on couch and buffalo grass, which weren't trimmed for almost 4 months along the edges. The line trimmer was easy to use, except having to awkwardly hold the tool while trimming due to my shorter height (5'7"). Would have been great if the length was adjustable (telescopic) so I didn't have to exert myself while trimming. The tool itself performed excellent and cut through the grass easily, although the line got chewed pretty quickly. Easy to use with bump feed. Auto-load head made it easy to load the line as well. Overall, happy with the product.
I was surprised to find that this attachment was disappointing, as the pole hedge trimmer and pole chain saw are excellent. The design fault with this line trimmer was the bumper string adjustment is too soft. It would go through 2 metres of string in 20 minutes as if you hit any object even lightly it would send out more string. If they stiffen the bumper then it would be more useful. I instead use my old petrol line trimmer as the bumper is better and stiffer. I am a professional gardener.
I bought the multi tool/ line trimmer (and other products) about a month ago. Very happy with the ease of use, ergonomics are comfortable. Lots of power, without the noise and heavy vibrations. The Power Pack that came with it, lasted through out the trimming of a 600sq/metre block lawn edges. Excellent product!

I still use this trimmer out in the fields to trim around trees and fences and to clear brush from the hillside where the tractor cannot go. I love it, oh yes, I mentioned it already. Anyway, since I loved the trimmer so much and as a woman who is retired I can handle it without any problems (except keeping my balance on the hillside) I have purchased the blower, hedge trimmer, chain saw and this new trimmer. Only bought the multi tool whipper snipper and pole saw with extension about a month ago and have been really impressed.Goes together easy and does such a brilliant job.With quality comes some weight but balance is good and with 56v you might expect a little more weight. Pole saw has performed great annd eaten up 100-125 mm natives with ease. Can’t fault it yet. Highly recommend them to anyone who wants to get away from petrol machines. And yes easily compares with my petrol power wise.
I've only used it once but my initial thoughts are- power, excellent, as good as the petrol one it replaced- performance, does the job just as well as the petrol one- ease of use, I need more practice. It is a bit heavy but the shoulder strap will make that less of an issue- construction, it is very well made, and probably all the multi-tool attachments are built better than I thought they would be. I had imagined that spinning a long shaft coupled at each end would be very inefficient, but I've been pleasantly surprised.
