I was surprised to see that the liquid was transparent (should be brown), had no characteristic Iodine odor, had no characteristic Iodine taste. I tried conducting a simple reaction - I applied a drop of Iodine on a cut piece of potato. Iodine reacts with starch and forms a blue substance - that's a very well known reaction in qualitative analysis (I am an analytical chemist). I saw no blue color on my potato.Do not buy this, it has no Iodine! Maybe in some trace amounts, but for all intents and purposes you are buying water.

I'm perimenopausal and over several past years, PMS breast pain has increased. But, then I read that other tissues in the body including breast (not just thyroid) need iodine. Due to my own thyroid issues, I wanted to be really careful and increase slowly. I also want to take half my dose in the AM and half at night. These drops make it easy to work up slowly in my dosage. And, my breast pain has been almost none since I started these (and that didn't happen when I had previously used a much higher dose every other day) .
this seems like the best quality liquid iodine supplement I have tried so far. I'm naturally predisposed to iodine deficiency and have an underactive thyroid. as a result of this (among other factors), I gained a lot of weight over the past 2 years. after taking this regularly, my metabolism seems to be be closer to what I was before my thyroid issues, and I am losing weight too (with sensible eating and exercise).highly recommended if you have hypothyroidism or just general iodine deficiency.
