The Cruiser 1 is a beautiful, sturdily built bike. The ride is very comfortable due to a large, well cushioned seat. Pedaling is easier than expected on all but steep hills, and the brake is exceptionally strong for a coaster. I have owned a number of bikes over many years but this is my favorite. Its simplicity is irresistible and the ride is truly pleasant.

I’ve had my Cruiser 1 since 2012. I have customized mine with Continental cruiser tires, heavy gauge 26” black wheels, a rear stubby fender and apehangers. The saddle is the most comfortable I’ve ever owned and this bike has served as my joyriding machine and commuter bike. The steel frame is extremely sturdy and the pedal forward seating position is optimal. I plan to run this beauty to the ground but I expect that will be 20+ years from now...

Just got my Electra Cruiser 1 bike from Holmes Bicycle shop in Camp Hilly, PA after having an Electra Super Deluxe 3i.Loved my Electra 3i but was bicycling so much using it to pull a trailer w/ coffee grounds, cardboard and leaves that I'm collecting to bioremediate/rehab a delapidated warehouse in HBG, PA plus making lots of fun bike packing trips since I got it in ~June, 2016: from HBG to Williamsport, PA and back, HBG to Lewes DE and down the coast to Chincoteague, VA and back to HBG via Baltimore in late summer, early Fall, 2016 , then fun bike packing trips June, 2018 from HBG to DC and back, then to Baltimore and back, then NYC and back to check out Pride Parades happening in those places. Too funny, think all my bicycling cause the right side of the rear ... MoreJust got my Electra Cruiser 1 bike from Holmes Bicycle shop in Camp Hilly, PA after having an Electra Super Deluxe 3i.Loved my Electra 3i but was bicycling so much using it to pull a trailer w/ coffee grounds, cardboard and leaves that I'm collecting to bioremediate/rehab a delapidated warehouse in HBG, PA plus making lots of fun bike packing trips since I got it in ~June, 2016: from HBG to Williamsport, PA and back, HBG to Lewes DE and down the coast to Chincoteague, VA and back to HBG via Baltimore in late summer, early Fall, 2016 , then fun bike packing trips June, 2018 from HBG to DC and back, then to Baltimore and back, then NYC and back to check out Pride Parades happening in those places. Too funny, think all my bicycling cause the right side of the rear fork to shear but wonderful that Electra covered it and gave me a new bike.I chose the Electra Cruiser 1 Bike since it's beefy and am thinking I'll be able to handle most/all of any maintenance that it'll need.

This bike is comfortable and makes riding enjoyable again. I gave up a road bike and a mountain bike because of sciatic, back pain, and my hands falling asleep no matter how high I set the handlebars. Upright cruising did the trick. I would buy the large version of this bike if REI would carry it.
I bought this as a Father’s Day gift. My husband says if he were to describe his dream beach cruiser in both body and style this bike would be it. Best cruiser bike he has ever owned, hands down. It sure is a purty one! And rides smooth like butter.
First I will say that for the money, this is a decent bike. A big problem is the quality of the wheels, given the seating position and the heaviness of the tires. First thing you'll do is replace the tubes. You'll have to. Next thing you'll do is replace spokes; they are too light weight for these wheels. If you ride more than around the block, you'll be replacing the seat. If you ride djdpw day, you'll be replacing the silly twist shifter. I've done these things, and I can still somewhat enjoy the ride as long as I'm not trying to get somewhere in a serious way. That is...the geometry (which Electra seems to be all about) is kind of a nightmare. Yes...it's true, you can put your foot on the ground comfortably when you stop. And yes, it's true the company has ... MoreFirst I will say that for the money, this is a decent bike. And yes, it's true the company has protected this feature in court. NO ONE CARES! it does NOT make for a better ride. Not even close. To summarize....move on. It's cute, but not for the serious. For me, this will be a learning experience, and a nicely made black frame that decorates my wall. No more Electra bikes for me, thank you.
I live in the Tahoe basin, my neighbor has this bike. I borrowed his bike often. I loved this cruiser so much I bought my own. I'm a girl, I'm about 5'9 and the men's bike fit me perfect and looks cooler than the women's. This beach cruiser is so nice, super easy to ride and really comfortable. I bought the white Electra basket too. I'm decking the whole bike out for Burning Man. Super smooth bike for the price.Ill add some pics after I pimp it out.
We have owned for less than a year, all the parts are rusted. We have bikes that are 6 years old without rust, stored in the same place. The description on main site said, anti rust parts. We’ll all the parts rusted.
I bought one recently from their Norwalk store and I've been impressed with it. This is a bare-bones Beach Cruiser, no more no less. If you are look for this type of bicycle, you'll be pleased with the value.
I purchased the Cruiser 7D about a month ago. First thing I did was install a Phantom 85 engine on it. Boy does it go, it takes me up steep hill country roads. And if none of that excites you, the bike just looks awesome.
