Better and more intuitive than the RC-30 and all other loopers in this price range. The only pedals that best this on the market are the Pigtronix Infinity V1 and the Boomerang. They're double the price. The common complaint is that you need to know what/how you want to play beforehand. Subsequent verse to chorus or layering loops on top of each other, whether you want loop 1 and 2 to be the same length, all that stuff. It's all easy to change after you learn how the pedal works.I got this pedal as you can set a specific bpm and loop to that. It allows you to loop with drum machines without setting up a midi clock.

This is my first experience with a dedicated looper pedal and I am very pleased with it. EHX has been on my board for a while and this thing will probably be a mainstay for a long time to come. Super useful and fun to use and has a minimal foot print so it doesn’t take up too much space on the board. Keep in mind that due to the fact that the left and right channels are completely independent from one another, if you record a loop thru the LEFT channel, that loop will only play back if it’s hooked up thru the LEFT channel. For example when I got this pedal I immediately plugged it in to the practice amp at home and I had it plugged into the left channel and made a few loops. I hooked it up thru the left channel and bingo-bango the loops played back! Just something to be aware of. I was confused and emailed ehx and they promptly responded and let me know what the deal was. There is a minor learning curve but nothing ridiculous. I do believe this pedals functionality will improve with the optional foot switch to cue up presets without kneeling down so I plan to pick one of those up eventually. The one main knob navigation thru options and settings will take some slight getting used to but it is perfectly useable and intuitive in how it’s organized. Sound quality is great, feature set is excellent for my purposes. I intend on using it to cue up samples and to use my pedalboard “as an instrument” creating soundscape and ambient sounds which the reverse and octave functions will help that along nicely. Also as a practice/writing tool to play over loops to jam around on. Overall, this pedal is exceptionally fun to use, useful, well designed and as a long time ehx fan I expected it to be an awesome, high quality pedal and I was not disappointed in the least. Great looper and I definitely recommend it. Once I start messing with it it’s hard to stop tinkering lol.

for the money I like this more than the tc ditto. the things that make it better are the A and B buttons for 2 parts of a song for each memory bank. the reverse and octave buttons are great. the drum/metronome is great too. for live application I am sure I could figure out how to use it smoother, but at home I usually just set the tempo and record, then delete or re-record parts, bending down if I have to. that could be a bummer playing live, though I have seen people do that. I had one before and sold it in a pinch, then a year or so later got another one and got rid of the tc ditto. this pedal is fun, the knob is now silent, it used to have a loud click, they say it has always been silent, but I don't believe them, lol. this pedal is lots of fun and has a good ... There are lots of loopers out there and it can be confusing to know which model does what. After consulting with AMS, I went with the Electro-Harmonix 22500 and couldn't be happier. You get two independent loop controls. You can capture loops with XLR and 1/4" inputs, so I'm able to switch between instruments (guitar, bass, keys) and a mic for vocal ideas. This looper uses an SDHC card for storage (one is included in the box). There are 99 loop slots per card and you can go up to a 32GB card. I don't ever find myself wishing for more looping time.I found recording, stacking, and recalling loops on the 22500 to be easy. I was quickly setting loops to specific time signatures, adjusting loops to fit different tempos, and coordinating multiple loops together. It's ... It's also easy to send loops out to your computer and load audio files back into the 22500! It does take more time to work through the deeper features, but every day I'm realizing just how powerful this looper is!5/5
After reading the manual before use, I was amazed at the amount of features, including multi-track looping. It took about 15 minutes to learn the menu top cycle through the modes and mode values.-there is a selector dial to access all the functions, and the only annoying issue was that the instructions were a little vague on it. However, the instructions are fairly clear on the mode features. There is sufficient memory allowing 12 hours of loop time, built-in drum loops and the ability to imbed internal rhythms in loops. Creating my first basic loop with guitar was fairly effortless. More advanced features simply require more trial and error and time, but the manual is fairly concise in this regard. Creating my first basic loop with guitar was fairly effortless. More advanced features simply require more trial and error and time, but the manual is fairly concise in this regard. An interesting feature is the ability to import .wav files into the device which have been modified by audio software such as audacity creating custom loops. I use the linux operating system and the looper file system was recognized and I could simply drop and drag audio files directly into the loopers memory. The device will take up to a 32GB card giving you 48 hours of recording time. Another feature is their excellent tech support- before purchasing the product I called the support with some specific questions. Without any wait, an audio engineer got on the phone and answered all my questions which gave me confidence to buy the product. The quality of support is important to me in deciding whether to purchase. So no oversees support with undecipherable accents- the company is in NYC USA. All in all, a great product with lots of expensive features at an affordable price, excellent techsupport and fairly easy to understand manual.
Read and reread the instruction. 2 loopers in one. Add your own rhythm and audio track and practice, play, jam, away. It records what it receives, if your EQ and setting are correct, you will be well pleased with what you hear. Live playing is enhanced by fade ins and volume swells. 12 hour of loops on the 8GB it comes with. 2 day of loops on a 32GB SD card, (48 hours). You can do a lot with this unit than advertise, once you understand the 22500! One of many good looper from EHX. Thanks, Specialty_Traders, for this beautiful looper. I am more than happy with this unit.
I am very impressed with this pedal. First off, I made the final decision on this pedal over the competition for the built in drum tracks. The looping and effects are similar to other pedals so I wanted the "extra" and I am thrilled that I did.The looping is great. Undo/Redo, stereo split, parallel or series, and it really sounds great. As just the looper it's a workhorse and can keep up with most anything on the market. As mentioned in another review, it really does feel as powerful as a good sampler. You can use it as simply as a short 4 bar loop, or keep layering into complex parts with changes. The stereo splits opens up so many more possibilities as well. For instance, you can run a vocal into the xlr input, a bass guitar into A, and an electric guitar into B. ... The stereo splits opens up so many more possibilities as well. For instance, you can run a vocal into the xlr input, a bass guitar into A, and an electric guitar into B. Run A out into the PA and the B out to the guitar amp. Now I can hit the drum track and record a bass verse, and a bass chorus, then flip the switch and record background vox on the chorus, then pickup my guitar and record a verse and chorus part. So at this point, alone on stage, I have a bass, drums, and background vocals coming out of the PA, with a verse and chorus, and I have a guitar loop coming out of my guitar amp. Now I am free to sing lead vocals and noodle melody lines over great sounding backing tracks that I just recorded on the fly. It sounds complicated to type out but its fast and easy when you get the hang of it.I will say, there is some learning curve to get the hang of things. Practicing, going back to the manual, practicing, manual for a few days to get the hang of it. I will say, once you have the hang of how to use it the controls are pretty intuitive. So for me, I chose this one because it had some of the advanced features like independent stereo, series/parallel for verse chorus, AND the fact that is has built in drums. (you can upload up to 100 of your own drum tracks). I can play onstage alone, or use as a great writing tool to build new songs. I love it.
I can not say enough about this looper. Once you really study the manual, this thing is a breeze to use. So many options! One time I was doing things in "forward mode", then I put those layers in reverse to record a solo. I then played the tracks in forward again, and voila, a trippy backwards Guitar solo. The Drums make it so much more fun to play with this looper than loopers without them. Run this into your mixer into a bus and then bring your loops in as much or little as you want. The 22500 is just a great looper period. Last year, this pedal was 1/10th less expensive than it is now and with the rising costs of everything, now is the time to get the gear that you want and need. For the money, this looper reigns supreme!
I use this product to create rhythm guitar parts and bass lines, along with included drum loops, to play my lead guitar over. I play mostly in my home studio. This 22500 looper has everything you need to create studio quality, multi-layered loops. It also has the ability to control the playback tempo without changing the pitch, which can be handy for use as a phrase trainer (to learn other people's riffs, etc.) The Loop 1 and Loop 2 buttons provide a number of different function, determined by how you press them (1 click to record initial track, 2 quick clicks to stop play or record, hold down to undo). A little tricky to master, but it works like a champ. It has an assortment of drum rhythms that you can choose for your click beats. I love the pedal, but I just ... I love the pedal, but I just ordered the EHX 95000 looper because it has 6 tracks (or 3 stereo tracks, which is what I use). I am interested in separating my tracks (then mixing them down when satisfied) instead of overdubbing them all on the two loops of the 22500. You can play back Loop 1 and Loop 2 sequentially (Loop 1 then Loop 2, repeat) or simultaneously. My only concern with the 22500 is that, since the Loop 1 and Loop 2 buttons are used for so many things, it is easy for your feet to get a little spastic and accidentally delete more than you want when overdubbing. The buttons are close together, so it is easy for a big-footed person such as myself to hit the wrong buttons, tap too many times, etc. But I am going to keep the 22500 pedal. It is rock solid, a reliable looping partner and easy to operate once you figure out the tools and instructions. The BPM is controlled by a dial and has a screen readout - very easy to read and set accurately. Recorded sounds are identical to the input music - even the most sparkly Strat tones - ultra clean and true to the original. I highly recommend this pedal!!
Overall:After cutting my teeth on the little Ditto, I decided to move up. After much review, I decided to buy this Electro-Harmonix 22500. Now, keep something in mind, you will probably have difficulty for a few days. You must read the manual, use unit, refer back, and forth. But, once you get the jest of it, it’s GREAT! The drum tracks are typically fake, but pretty good, anyway. This unit has a lot of capabilities. Hence the learning curve. If you are the “not easily discouraged” type, you will love it. Let me say, it’s not that the unit is poorly designed. It’s just you MUST learn how to use it, in order to actually use it. Lol. No cheating here.
