I was not a big time of plastic box speaker but this one, definitely got me hype about it! It sounds super good like if the box was made of plywood, good bass and good mids and highs I used for my monitor, and usually I have about 1000 plus people on my events, definitely recommend!

These things sound fantastic. Crystal clear and plenty loud. That's to be expected though. I'm writing this review not to rave about the sound quality, but the incredible durability of these speakers. I had one set up on a stand on a rocky river shore for an early independence day celebration when a sudden wind gust blew it over. Probably 5 feet up, face plant on large river rocks banging up the grill and killing the generator I had it tied into. I thought for sure it was done for but got it set back up, genny fired up and she came right back on, clear and loud as ever, just with a battle scar or two! Awesome product I'm an EV fan for life now!

EV ditched the wood boxes for polycarbonate and have added the DSP menu's like the other series have had. They are 1200w and are bluetooth controlled (they do not stream) so you can do any adjustments by phone or other device. 6 speakers can be controlled simultaneously. There are four presets and you can match the subs and tops.While the ZLX line is 1000 watts with only high and low controls, the ELX has a three-band EQ.

However, on one of the cabinet's I recieved, the LED light on the front of the speaker didn't work. If you are wondering if they are loud enough or if they are louder than the zlx, the answer is yes. However, not a ton louder. What is great though is that at high volumes the dont clip, like ever. I have been using these for almost 6 months now and I havent made them limit once, compared to my Zlx that limited every show a lot. The sound quality at high volume it great also, the highs are nice and crisp but it still has pretty good low end for a 12 inch speaker (I use a sub with mine). I honestly dont have any complaints about them right now. I think they are a high quality EV product and will last a long time.
I bought a pair of these a year ago and used them side by side with peavey dark matter 15" and JBL 15" and the EV's literally blew them away with clarity and sound levels!I was so impressed I bought 2 ELX 18" subs and am totally satisfied with the results I get running sound for my bands! Definitely will be getting 2 more subs also...

The EV ELX200 is a 12" speaker that pushes sound up to 1200 Watts! This has a lot of functionality to it such as EQ control, crossover, a limiter, and programmable presets to customize your sound. The ELX200 is also road worthy. This speaker is rugged and durable making it ideal for live or touring performances. Another cool feature that stood out to me was the phone connectivity that lets you control volume and other functions, allowing hands free performance. Best part about that is that you can even control UP TO SIX ELX200 speakers! All in all great speakers and worthy of any gig you are trying to rock.
Took a Mackie Thump back for these because Mackies clip and the lower end.These are consistently stable at all frequencies, with plenty of non-irritating treble at higher volumes like the cheaper speakers.Don't expect a great low end though, they are not made for it and the specs are clear. You'll never get the very low end bass you would with subs. That given, these are solid workhorse speakers that neither irritate your audience, nor bark back with unexpected frequency collapse or feedback because of a poor box design that amplifies odd frequency ranges.
These powered speakers have it all! They each have 1200 watts of power and a great sounding 12' speaker but are still lightweight! They also have built-in DSP which gives you the ability to control presets for Music, Live, Speech, and Club, crossovers, and a three-band EQ. Not only that, but these speakers are Bluetooth enabled so you can control the DSP from your phone or a tablet!.... It is a good idea to also buy the Electro-Voice ELX200-18SP 18 in. Powered Subwoofer. I'm saving for that.these speakers are to work for a long time.
I've now bought 3 different powered speakers from ProAudioStar (this ELX200-12P, as well as a second one and an EKX-15SP from their Reverb page), and all 3 of them arrived safely with no issues. In addition, they all were thoroughly tested and work as they should. Great, reliable sellers! The speaker in particular is a bit of a sleeper. For the money, the ELX200-12P is probably one of the best values out there for a 12" powered speaker (if the built-in DSP isn't your thing, take a look at the Yamaha DBR12; almost as good as the old QSC K12 but a fair bit cheaper). If you're on a budget, this is a BIG and worthwhile step up from EV's ZLX-12P (which is itself pretty good).
