Do not buy this microwave

Bought this one in March because it looked good, fitted the space we had and brand is usually reliable. Started having the same E-3 problem detailed below, requiring the device to be switched off at the mains each time to reboot. Had enough so ordered a replacement last week - within six hours the same problem came up and it's been happening regularly ever since. Will now seek to return the product to place of purchase and get a completely different one. This microwave is a lemon and for the sake of their brand, Electrolux should withdraw it from the market. I rated it 1/5 because I can't give it 0.

Door Closure Error 3

Bought this product a long with other Electrolux products. Had the kitchen renovation completed last week and went to use the microwave last night for dinner party. This was the fourth time we had used the item and at the most embrassing moment error code 3 happened. Went to the user manual, nowhere is error code 3 mentioned. I guess the arguments now starts with Electrolux to get it fixed at no cost. Hope their service is better than their product.

We bought this item to match with the inbuilt oven we purchased for a new kitchen. Looks great, and worked ok to start with. However about a week of very minor use, the push button door failed to open and then up pops and "error code". You can manually pull the door open to retrieve what's inside, but the only way to reset the code is to turn the power off and then on again. Not so handy with a microwave that is "Built in". That means going out to the metre box and turning the power off and then on.We went back and read reviews of this item and all the stories are pretty similar, with the same fault. So why don't Electrolux sort this out.Currently our retailer is ordering in a replacement in the same model, but we fear it will do the same....... i suppose we will ... MoreWe bought this item to match with the inbuilt oven we purchased for a new kitchen. Heating element does nothing
3 December 2020

I went into this having read the previous reviews, which weren't good, but we had to get a microwave that would fit the cavity we had plus match our new Electrolux oven. I was therefore aware of the difficulty resetting it and so had an external switch installed. No problem there. It's not cheap but I was prepared to put up with that as well. It does look good and does what nearly all other microwaves do quite adequately. Like most other microwaves it's loaded with dozens of options you never use which just makes it harder to operate and 99% of the time you just press the 30 second button to get it going. What I thought I might get, at least, was an oven which would be able to handle small grill tasks, like cheese on toast. It just doesn't work. It just doesn't work. There seems to be no radiant heat coming directly from the element; it just warms up the internal space and it circulates the heat if you choose convection. That's all. You can't brown anything.I rang Electrolux about this and some other things on various occasions and it's apparent that they don't know a thing. If it's not in the manual there's nothing they can do or find out.

Looks great
14 June 2021

We bought this microwave like many others to match the other appliances in our new kitchen. We have used it successfully for almost 10 months but have just had the dreaded E3 error appear. This was not a cheap microwave so it is unacceptable that so many people are having this issue. When appliances are built in they need to be reliable because it’s a real issue to have them replaced. The other issue we have had is that it is slow to heat up compared to our old freestanding microwave, we have to put it on for an extra 1:30 to achieve similar results. Turns out looks aren’t everything and I am now left with a good looking, useless microwave :/

Looks impressive but not user friendly.
20 November 2019

We bought this combination microwave oven to fit into our new kitchen renovation. It has an impressive looking front face especially with it built-in to the kitchen cabinetry. The unit does perform well with minimal operating noise. It has lots of features with 4 different combination cooking options and ten auto programs. However, all these features require endless pressing of the function button and setting the cooking time for anything is time-consuming. Not user friendly at all. Using the microwave option creates a lot of steam in the unit that blasts you when opening the door and then condensate drips out everywhere. On a positive side, the combination grill/microwave option cooks a great pasta bake and for some reason with very little steam build up.

Poorly designed
19 September 2020

We've always bought Electrolux but this appears to be a lemon. Poor interface design made it a pain to use initially. Pretty disappointed when it started to overheat regularly and then shut down. Difficult to turn off when it is built in. Called Electrolux but out of warranty so they offered us a new one at staff price. Fault continues to happen. Moved ti to kitchen bench from the fitted space and working fine. Engineer husband identified the problem as overheating as exit air comes out the front instead of the back. Simply poor design. Our last Electrolux product after 40 years of loyalty.

Terrible controls, unreliable.

We bought this microwave to match our Electrolux duo oven. The duo oven is a fantastic product, so we were surprised when the microwave turned out to be a match in looks only. The microwave interface is dreadful - there are a large number of automatic cooking / defrosting / etc programs but you'll need to refer to the manual to see what they actually do as the microwave itself only displays helpful descriptions like "A1" or "A6". I thought they were error codes at first, but no, just very opaque program descriptions.Imagine my confusion when an actual error code showed up! "E-3", the display advised cryptically. Odd, I thought. Perhaps it's a special defrost cycle? But no. E-3 appears to be microwave-speak for 'broken'. The code can be cleared by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in, which is extremely inconvenient for a built-in unit, but it soon returns.Avoid at all costs.

What a sad example of technology
17 June 2020

First bought this product in November last year (2019). By April this year it ceased working showing a code of E-3. Nothing in the manual regarding this, but looking online, it appears this is a regular 'feature' of this appliance. It apparently requires the main power to be switched off and back on for it to work again because it is a 'built-in' appliance (ie access to the power switch is hindered). Did it once, but it happened again, so asked for a replacement. That was installed on 20 May. How long did this one last - a whole 18 days - then again the appliance went to E-3. Apparently, these appliances are not repaired, they are junked (more rubbish on the planet)!! I am still waiting for a replacement, but I can assure you it will not be an Electrolux product - ... MoreFirst bought this product in November last year (2019).
