We are using one of these on our remote block for our occasional visits while awaiting our house build. It is sturdy, comfortable and smell free when the lid is shut. We are using it with biodegradable toilet bags. An awesome solution for occasional use. We will probably keep it for field emergencies.

Very durable. Lid seals extremely well. We used the elemental liner bags & powder combo which concealed any potential nasty aromas. Some reviews that we read prior to purchase indicated the liner bags were too shallow. We did not find this to be the case. Very practical item. Highly recommended.

Great and simple way for when you need to provide facilities for your lady friend. Use this with a shower tent, compostable bin bags, bamboo toilet paper, saw dust (keeps everything solid) and dig a 30 cm hole deep to bury it (50m away from camp and water), it will break down no problems.
This camping toilet is the best on the market…I’ve tried many different ones including the spinifex folding toilet which was too high to sit on and the bags ripped out of the seat plus the seat was difficult to remove from the frame to put another bag in. The only complaint I have with the thunder down under is the bucket is too large (high) so it’s not convenient to fit into a camper that has compartments that allow for a porta pot chemical toilet which are horrible but are more compact if you take the tank off from the seat. A shorter bucket similar to a chamber pot size with the same seat and lid to fit would be perfect as an improvement on this product.
Our caravan toilet broke with all repairers booked out for months. Gulp! Enter this thunderbox. Simple, sturdy, effective, comfortable. A nighttime necessity. We don't use a bag and empty the bucket each morning in local toilets.
