Perfect for my setup. This mic arm won’t be for everyone, not because it isn’t a very high quality mic arm that’s definitely worth the 100 dollar asking price, but because not everyone will want a “low profile” style mic arm. I used to use a blue (now Logitech) compass, but the springs are too strong for a lighter microphone and I would have to constantly readjust the arm. Not so with the Elgato Mic Arm LP, it sits where I put it and stays there. It also folds up compact at the back of my desk, out of the way until I need it. very happy with it!

Great product, prices and Customer service.

If you are looking for a low profile mic arm, this is a great product.Especially if you are looking at a computer monitor while talking to the mic or if you are recording on a video camera at the same time.It may not be a “perfect” product for everyone but it serves really great for my needs.I don’t like a boom arm hanging over my head and obstructing my view.I must specially mention about the Best Buy customer service. Online chatting really helped me to resolve my ordering issue.Really competitive pricing and free shipping made me to turn away from Amazon and buy it here.

Despite Elgato showing this microphone in use with the Shure SM7B microphone in promotional and marketing videos for this microphone arm, this mic arm struggles to keep the SM7B where you want it. The vertical adjustment on the second level arm is not very secure, even if you wrench it down with all your might; however, if you have a lighter microphone or something like a basic USB mic, this should be plenty. It's a bummer, because this mic arm is actually really fantastic, and I love the low profile; but it is aggravating to use with one of the most popular XLR microphones on the market.

Improved experience
1 March 2023

I have been looking all over for a decent microphone arm that would go over the Monitor but couldn't find anything cheap and usable. Then I saw this product and it dawned on me that an arm UNDER the monitor would work perfectly. Installation was easy, it supports my Samson mic and when I'm not using it, I can just swivel it away. It doesn't get in the way of my mouse and keyboard either. This has improved my experience by a lot. Also, for the money you pay for this, it is quality! Nothing feels or looks cheap, including the magnetic cable management cover plates.

Not as nice as it looks
27 November 2022

Lowest profile mic arm you can find; feels pretty flimsy once you have it in hand. Does not hold the Shure MV7 weight in a low position (like the picture shows for the elgato mic); the extension arm must be pointing in a significant upward angle or it just drops down until it hits the desk. Corsair says it should work, and they even replaced the first one I purchased, but the replacement ended the same result as the first. The weight of a Shure MV7 microphone is too much for this mount to hold the microphone in a low position which defeats the purpose of a low profile mount. This might be an ok option if you don't need to fit under displays or if you have a lighter microphone.

Sleek, Clean, and Easy to Use
3 February 2023

This mic stand is incredible! The ease of use right out of the box was phenomenal. It has made my stream space so much easier to use and switch around. The ability to move the mic out of the way when I'm not using it and still having desk space for writing is a plus. The adjustable arm elbows are breeze to change around the height but also have some wiggle room. The delivery was also fast and packaged nicely. The initial height of the arm connector is just right so that I could hide most of it under my monitor stand. The wires can also be tucked away in the adjustable arms to keep things tidy.

Under Monitor Arm
27 June 2022

Bought so i can swing my handheld dynamic under my 27 inch monitor and out of the way. I keep my monitor higher than most, probably 8-9 inches above the tabletop. This swings under nicely. It's about 6 inches tall without the microphone. With the microphone its taller, but long enough to get around my 27 inch monitor. Note that my monitor is also on an arm, so really i could just lift it when i need to, but the other way is funner. At the straight level the arm will sag and droop on it's own with a Shure KSM8. Lift it half an inch and it's fine.

Useful low-profile design and reassuring build quality
24 September 2022

I'm used to buying/using mic stands by the likes of König & Meyer, and being able to rely on their robustness and high quality. The clever design of this Elgato Low Profile arm ticked all the boxes for a particular layout need at my desk, but I admit I was hesitant about this brand that I didn't know. I shouldn't have been. This arm, made in Taiwan, is very nicely built and finished and didn't have any disappointing weak points. The arm holds the weight solidly (with a reasonable amount of sag when fully extended). The universal ball joint is easy to adjust on the fly. Given the great quality of the rest of the arm, I was somewhat surprised that the adjustment knobs are plastic rather than metal, but I am guessing that that might be to reduce weight. Would be fine if not for MAJOR flaw

I was looking around for a low profile, desk clamp mic arm, and unfortunately all of the well reviewed ones (like the ProBoom Ultima) are triple the price of this one. If you just need a basic LP mic arm, it'll work, but you're definitely giving up a lot compared to regular mic arms at this price (like the Rode PSA1).The Elgato arm uses tension screws to adjust movement (as opposed to a gas spring. As a result, if you mount a heavier mic and don't was it to slowly go down, you need to really tighten the screw that controls vertical motion, and then loosen it when you want to raise or lower it. I understand that using a gas spring on a low profile mic is going to be (a lot) more expensive, and if that was the only downside, I think it would be worth it.The next ... MoreI was looking around for a low profile, desk clamp mic arm, and unfortunately all of the well reviewed ones (like the ProBoom Ultima) are triple the price of this one. I understand that using a gas spring on a low profile mic is going to be (a lot) more expensive, and if that was the only downside, I think it would be worth it.The next issue is that the arm has really poor tolerances. The hole in the clamp where the lower arm segment falls into is just a little too wide, which makes the arm wobble within it. It does have a tightening screw, which allows you to lessen the unwanted movement, but that results also in it being difficult to rotate. The same issue exists where the two arm segments join together, but even worse; Even when I tighten the joint as much as I can, there's still a lot of give between the arms. The worst problem with the arm is the mount itself. It's hard to describe, so I'll include pictures, but basically, the end of the arm has a little nub mount, which a cheap ball socket tightens around, which holds a ball with a 1/4" screw, that can be turned into 3/8 or 5/8 with the included adapters. Unfortunately, nub mount isn't universal, so you cannot swap the mount out with your own. They could have saved money and just used a simple 5/8 pin or something, but instead they use a proprietary design that only works with their poor quality mount. That last thing is what really made me not like this mount. I can deal with poor tolerances, but the fact that I can't swap the actual mount with my own is really frustrating. I wouldn't mind if the the proprietary mount added functionality, it seems like Elgato actively invested resources into making a nonstandard mount that is actively worse than the universal option. If that problem was fixed, I would absolutely recommend this mic arm. The material is really nice, it has these cool magnetic cable cover things, and feels really sturdy. Actually one benefit to not using a gas spring, is that it can hold a lot more weight, I could mount my X-T4 + lens, and it felt extremely secure. At this price, the tolerances are acceptable, although I would be willing to pay more if they were improved. The reason I'm giving it one star, is that, in spite of all that, the most important part of the arm, mic mount itself, is unacceptable, and I'll be returning it. If they replaced it with a universal adapter, I would buy it in an instant, because it does fill a hole in the market of good quality low profile mic arms. The only reason I would get this would be if I was in dire need of a low profile mic arm and didn't want to pay $300. Otherwise, just get a PSA1 (or PSA1+), it's the same price, and is really good.

Dont get me wrong this product is great it has everything you would want and need. Simple design, easy construction, easy use. But one thing i didn’t think about is how low this thing actually sits. If you’re looking for a boom arm to use while gaming get the other elgato boom arm. The LP is like right in the way of your arm wheh trying to use the keyboard. Where this arm shines is on controller gaming and or a podcast. Im conclusion dont buy this if you’re 24/7 pc gaming, but if you are starting a podcast or just play console games this is a 100% buy
