Just bought it, but battery issues make this unusable. My review is regarding mug when it is on the base. My issue currently: The app says the travel mug has 100% battery, but only when the mug is on the charger. The mug displays an empty battery with one tick flashing, but only on the charger. Once I take the mug off, it dies within minutes, and the app can no longer connect. My experiences with it on the charging base: It cannot maintain a temperature of already hot water (200F+). The mug’s temperature starts dropping considerably until it reaches the set point temperature of 140F. But even that doesn’t last long, as the temperature continues to drop. I purchased this mug for my husband Christmas of 2021. I was so excited about it and he was as well. Within 4 months, the 360 leak-proof lid stopped functioning. I contacted customer service and they were very accommodating and helpful. They sent a new lid, as well as the new sipping lid to use in the meantime. About 5 months later, the second lid stopped functioning as well. Once again, contacted customer service and they sent a replacement lid. Now it is past the warranty timeframe, but once again, three months later this time, the lid has stopped functioning. So, now I have opened a claim through the extended warranty I purchased. The cap has a clean open/close design without fuss. However it isn't very durable. I dropped the cap on the ground just once, and it was enough to break the open/close mechanism. Otherwise I was very happy with the product.

1. Lid easily broke after a month of use. Now it will not stay open and is completely unusable. This makes the Travel Mug also completely unusable. And since this is a major problem with this product; the replacement lid is sold out! Surprise! And the replacement lid isn’t the same design as the original (which they do not sell - wonder why?). 2. Touch controls are poorly designed. It is impossible to handle the travel mug normally without inadvertently turning down the temperature. So when you wonder why your coffee is cold, it’s because your finger was too close to the controls and you basically turned the mig to its lowest setting. No way to lock the temp. These types of problems occur because only the engineers “test” the product and not typical users.

I had a very hard time reviewing this product poorly, it works, keeps coffee hot, if you get a charger for your car it is awesome. The issue I have is that the lid stopped working and broke dropping small pieces of plastic into my coffee. The mechanical design is not robust enough to last long and there are internal lid components that are impossible to clean. Considering the $200 retail price that is unacceptable. If this were a $30 travel mug then it would be different. Customer service at Ember is sluggish, I am not sure what the hold up is, this is simple. Ok, if you get the other style of lid everything works fine, spectacular, but that $15 lid cost as much as some perfectly functioning travel mugs I own. Ember, redesign your lid ASAP, it is your achilles heal.
