I was so excited to see that this was available since I really wanted to take my coffee in the car without spilling it and I'm not interested in the travel mug right now. It's a fine lid, easy to clean, and it does the job, but it also tends to leak when you take a sip. By that I mean liquid gets trapped in the sealing mechanism and then kind of dribbles down the side of the cup. I'm not trying to hold it upside down or anything, just trying to take a mess-free sip. For the price, I'd expect a pretty flawless drinking experience. Kind of a bummer.

This is a very good lid for a great mug. It’s smooth to the touch and easy to use. I’m a big Yeti fan with dozen of Yeti drinkwares and lids with mag slider. I attempted to use a yeti lid with the ember cup. Don’t bother, it is too tight and difficult to remove.Ember’s lid was way overdue. Plus it comes with multiple and colorful lid sliders.I am waiting for the ember cup to have a lid before I buy an Ember cup.

When I saw this lid, I thought it was going to be like the quality of the Yeti lid. That was a bad assumption. My disappointment is with the tab that slides open to drink from the mug. The Yeti tab is held on with magnets so it’s super easy to move and remove to clean. The Ember tabs are cheap plastic that snaps in two slots in the lid. To remove the tab, you need to flip the lid over squeeze the two clips. The lid comes with three tabs, black, white, and red. My guess is that there are three because they are not going to last long before breaking. Ember needs to step up and hire some better designers. I’ll be returning this for sure.

Don’t buy it. It doesn’t secure in any way to the cup. There is no purpose for the drink spout part if it because if you tried to drink through it you would end up with the cap in your lap and your coffee all over you. The drink spout is completely useless, dangerous even if you have hot coffee or tea in the cup. It must be just for decoration as it is not functional since the cap can’t be secured to the cup. It just loosely lays on top of the cup. Again it doesn’t snap in or in any way connect or secure to the cup. It is exactly like putting a coaster or other piece of plastic on top of your cup. But as soon as you want to drink from it, it must come off first just like you would take off a coaster you laid on top. And again you could lay anything else on top like a piece of paper and have the same function. Don’t waste your money on this useless piece of plastic.
I have a travel mug, but I got these for two reasons. Sometimes, I’m traveling and just keep the Mug with me and it makes it into a pretty decent travel mug. Also, just waking with my mug to the patio in the morning keeps it from spilling! The next is to preserve heat for longer. The battery life is pretty good on the mugs, but this extends it significantly. Especially if I’m on a second cup and drinking it slower. It comes with interchangeable slides to keep the cups identified, which is nice. Highly recommend.

This top is perfectly engineered. It fit's snugly and there are no leaks. It integrates with the ember mug perfectly and it's very easy to drink from unlike other tops that dribble each time you use them. The sliding top also is just perfect and it pops off easily for cleaning. Attention to detail is what this company is all about. Now I don't need their travel mug, however, I still want one. Also keeps the heat in and the battery doesn't have to work as hard to keep the drink at 144 degrees.

10/10. I suggested this product to the Ember team a while back before it existed, and I am happy that they are listening to their customers (I'm obviously not the only one). My dog loves to get into my coffee while I'm not looking and this has changed that 100%. She cannot get into it at all, even with the slider open. The lid fits super snug into the mug for a spill-free fit. Even when I accidentally over-pour my coffee, then put the lid on, the overflowed coffee will rise out from the top of the opening, not down the sides, keeping it clean and tidy even when I'm not. :)
Finally, a cover! Shortly after getting small mug for a gift, I realized that I needed something to cover my mug while not in use. Dust and cat hair would get in the mug from sitting on my desk for any length of time. I 3D printed a dust cover for when it wasn't in use. It worked nicely. I printed a few more to provide to people that I had given these mugs to as gifts. Finally, a functional lid that keeps stuff out while not in use. It keeps from minor spills due to bumping the mug and helps keep coffee/tea from evaporating while sitting in the mug (with the slider closed). It's a nice addition and easy to clean. I will say this, these mugs are not a gimmick! Though, I have found the desk chargers for the mugs need work. After a while, once of the charging pins gets stuck in the down position causing charging failure. Thus, the need to purchase a replacement charger. These mugs are a bit of a commitment. Deep pockets are helpful once you purchase just the mug!
