My wife gave this to me as a christmas present, and I absolutely love it. As someone with ADHD who can sometimes forget the cup of coffee they poured an hour ago, being able to pick this mug up at any point in the day off its coaster and know its going to be hot is an absolute win. Just add the battery level to the same main screen that shows the temperature!--It is hard to keep the inside of the mug clean. Even dish soap and a scrub brush doesn't get the stains. However, I've found that a Magic Eraser does the trick, so I hit with that once every few weeks.--My charger broke after about 6 months. The little pin stopped popping back up. But to Ember's credit, they shipped me a new one for free with little hassle. Great customer service.Overall, super happy to enjoy my coffee at the right temp all day long. Game-changer.

A lot of thought was put into the design of the mug, and I give them props for that. It's a delight to drink out of. The texture of the mug is smooth and the handle is comfortable. It's not very heavy... but I think this is where the problem comes up. With every minute of extra time available, I'm sure the mug would get heavier and heavier. If it was any heavier, I think it would be uncomfortable to use. Therein lies the rub. It might be possible that there is a lighter battery with longer life, but I'm going to assume that would make the cost go up as well (I could be wrong). We had gone through the steps on the support page about resetting the mug with no luck in change of behavior. So the gift recipient started to use the mug on the charging puck and by mid-Nobember, it all stopped working. We have reached out to support starting on 11/20 when the mug and charger stopped working wholly. It is 12/05 and so far, no response from support.Currently, it seems the support is dismissive and not willing to support a device that has "only" two months of warranty left. That, to me, means the device should at least last to the very last day, and if not, it be supported/replaced even on the last day of ... MoreI purchased this for a gift last Christmas. On my first Ember cup the enamel wore away so quickly it was still under warranty and was replaced. The enamel at the bottom of my second Ember cup is wearing away much more slowly, but it is still wearing away.2. I wish the max temperature were a higher. 160 would be fantastic, but even just 150 would be very nice.3. I have three bases at the three places in the house where I usually drink a hot beverage. I've had to replace all three because one of the two spring contacts fails. These contacts should be made more durable.But this cup is fantastic. They're used for black coffee and rinsed gently by hand. I think we got unlucky with #2. The #1 mug's coating is good so I'm happy with being able to use it for 5+ years. But it's sad we lost use of the #2 mug because they cost SO MUCH. I'm crossing my fingers we're lucky with mug #3. I wouldn't have bought #3 myself (fool me twice, shame ... Semi-disappointed as I am a big coffee drinker, black, no cream or sweeteners, and I want my coffee piping hot start to finish, with refill time. The second mug will not pair to phone (no blue light) and will not hold any temperature, works like a traditional but very expensive mug unless left on charger and used from there. I selected the 10oz white cup because it fits ideally below the dispenser of my Miele coffee machine, white because I wanted that true ceramic coffee mug experience I was accustomed to. Turns out the "paint" on the bottom of the mug was flaking off, I can assume I had consumed it. Ember replaced (2) mugs for the same problem. I was told I should stir my coffee with a wooden spoon, but I never stir my coffee, the frother manages to agitate my coffee perfectly.
