Then I had learned some things about the book and author and wanted to cancel my order before it shipped so I had messaged the seller multiple times with no answer. This book was so entertaining and extremely well written. The story was so original and highly interesting. I couldn't put it down.Highly recommend reading this

Epic!

I started reading this masterpiece at a slow pace in a group read. I finished reading this by bingeing over 500 pages in a day because I couldn't stop reading. I laughed, I cried, I finished it at 4am and felt so hollow inside I can't even describe it.This is a work of art. Jay Kristoff is beyond talented. This book is so much death and destruction done in such a beautiful, yet horrific way. I can't explain how overwhelmed in emotion this left me. Gorgeous book

This special edition is worth every cent, it's so beautifully made and it's easily the prettiest book I own. The colour illustrations are just perfect and I could stare at them all day. If you loved Empire of the Vampire, I definitely recommend getting this edition

While managing to maintain the rough edges his stories and characters are known for, there's a dark refinement at work within the pages.I saw someone mention once that this book.. to paraphrase.. makes The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice look like an opening act. While I don't know that I agree with that, it isn't because the writing in Empire isn't superb. I would re-buy this many times over

Great book, I couldn't put it down. I was searching for a book that was fantasy with a male lead that wasn't just a love story or war novel and this was the perfect blend of fantasy elements with the right amount of adult content so I didn't feel like I was reading another teen novel, I would put it in the same category as "The name of the wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. I went out and bought every other book from this author not long after, this was by far his best and I cannot wait for the second book.
