A bright gem of a light

There are many good things about this flashlight. First, the size, then the brightness, and the length of charge they hold. They are extremely handy to have in case of a power failure or to keep in your glovebox for emergencies. You can’t go wrong with this quick charging little gem of a flashlight. I have given several as gifts and I’m always getting thanked for it.

I have had this Energizer tactical flashlight for a number of months now and use it just about every day. I have found no problem with it. The batteries are some what expensive but if you buy them in bulk, you really save a lot of money. Lowes sells a pack of a dozen which really brings the cost per battery down to what the average guy/girl can afford. I have tried to take good care of it and have not used it for any reason but what it was intended and as stated above, have never had any problem . I always carry a extra set of batteries just in case I get in a situation where I need some fresh ones. I would highly recommend this light to anyone including those in the security industry. Five Stars.

This is a great flashlight because it’s rechargeable. I absolutely love that and that’s why I bought it in the first place. It has three settings of brightness, which is great.! Super easy to use and charge. Overall this is a great flashlight!

Doesn’t work on high with rechargeable batteries
15 September 2019

When I first got this flashlight I was fairly happy with it. It was bright, offered medium and low outputs, and seemed durable. Here are my pros and cons about the light.Pros:Inexpensive. I got it for about $17, which is pretty good for a light with these features.Durable and waterproof. It’s built well, is waterproof to a degree, and seems pretty tough. It’s not as tough as the Rayovac flashlights that are much sturdier, but then again those don’t have the same features. Has a pocket clip too.Bright. Nice and bright on the brightest setting.Relatively long battery life on low setting. Will illuminate a room with the flashlight standing on end on medium or low.Has a pocket clipCons:Doesn’t work on high with rechargeable batteriesGets VERY hot on ... MoreWhen I first got this flashlight I was fairly happy with it. It doesn’t really fit *that* well in a pants pocket. All in all it’s a pretty decent flashlight for the price. I’m returning it though because it won’t accept rechargeable batteries, and I’m not going to keep throwing very expensive CR123A batteries in the trash, polluting our environment because this flashlight doesn’t like them. When using rechargeable batteries, when you press the tailcap switch to turn it on high it flashes for one second, and that’s it. It will not operate on high with rechargeable batteries.

Flashlight is okay for occasional use
28 November 2022

I read a dozen great reviews before I noticed they were written as a promotional scheme. Since they needed fake reviews I'm convinced this flashlight sucks. Regardless I haven't found much to complain about. You can only use the built in rechargeable batteries and I'm sure that will become a problem. I like to have rechargeable batteries but I like to have the option to use regular ones as the recharge ones will always go bad depending on use and/or time. It's bright, med and low look the same. It's not real big or heavy for being so bright. For a light you'll be throwing away in five or six months it's okay for $20. I'd recommend spending a little more and getting a light that will last.

Great product

Exellent torch. Rechargeable, so no running out for batteries, or buying the wrong size batteries. Its a sturdy torch, with good grip and not too heavy. The light given out is bright and there are alternative strengths of brightness. Good value for money.

Poor Battery Life - Battery Cannot Be Replaced
13 December 2020

I've had the Energizer TAC-R 700 flashlight just over a year. I work in the HVAC industry and use it almost daily. This is a great flashlight until it's not. What I mean by that is that in the last few months I've noticed that the battery has a shorter and shorter life cycle with each charge. It has now gotten to the point where the charging light remains red and no longer turns green to indicate a full charge. With most other flashlights this wouldn't be a problem, right; just change out the rechargeable battery and you would be good to go? Unfortunately, not with the TAC-R 700. It comes with a sealed rechargeable battery. I should have read the documentation or did a more thorough job of researching it prior to purchase. It comes with a sealed rechargeable battery. I should have read the documentation or did a more thorough job of researching it prior to purchase. This flashlight cannot be opened and the battery cannot be replaced. Its basically a piece of trash after the battery goes bad. Why would they design it this way? Other than that, the flashlight was nice and bright at the highest setting and had two nice gradual changes to less intense light as well as a strobe function in its first six months, then gradually became weaker. I like the look and feel of it and it seems well built and sturdy. I should have been more skeptical with all of the positive reviews, which almost all included disclaimers that they received the flashlight as part of a promotion. I guess I would have posted an immediate five-star review in exchange for a free flashlight as well. Unfortunately, I bought mine with hard earned money. Had I known this issue sooner, I would have opted for a different flashlight, even if it meant paying twice as much. Just be forewarned of the battery issue if you do decide to purchase this flashlight. Dont expect it to last more than a year.To the engineers at Energizer, make this flashlight with a removable/replaceable battery and you will have a winner on your hands.

Poor Quality
23 February 2021

After I first purchased the flashlight around 2 months ago, along with a spare set of batteries, I used the flashlight for about 10 minutes. It became extremely hot where I could not hold onto it without gloves, I used it once or twice since then totaling around 5 or 10 minutes of use, yesterday the batteries gave out on it and had to be replaced. The energizer 3v lithium seemed promising, advertised like they would last like almost forever. They're not as good as the lowest quality batteries that will last 4 times longer in a flashlight. When the batteries are not brand new, it doesn't allow a high beam, could barely see what I was doing behind the TV prior to the batteries dying off completely. I was like it can't be the batteries, ended up being the batteries.

Quit working in less than a month!
18 November 2023

I thought this was a quality product. it was very bright and felt heavy duty. I used it maybe 4 times and then it stopped working completely. The light will not turn on, it will not charge, and the charging light does not illuminate when plugged in. Even tried with multiple different chargers.

Worked great, until it didn't!!
11 January 2023

I was hoping this flashlight would last a couple of years, actually stopped working after three months!! I live in the country and walk my dog before work, and need to keep a look out for skunks. I thought this light was perfect at first. I wanted rechargeable, as I need a light on daily basis, and hate burning through battery's, and throwing them away!! I have charged this no more than half a dozen times, and it now shows green light on side when plugged in, but no longer lights up. The One thing I don't like about this flashlight , is the lack of any battery level indicator!! I could lived without it, if it had stayed working.
