I plugged the charger in as soon as I received it, so as to charge the 4 AAs it came with, but got a constant beeping which indicates a bad battery. Managed to charge two of the batteries after removing the bad one/s, but that still left half uncharged.Some googling around suggested the problem mightn't be a "bad battery" so much as "the battery/s are too low and the charger only THINKS they're bad". I was sick of my wireless mouse dying because of cheap batteries that is why I bought this. The batteries that came with it are pretty decent. It will save money in the long run.

way better than one that doesn't work with charging batteries its worth the extra 20 dollars in my opinion because of how fast they charge, like if you your controller went flat and the batteries are still charging what do you do? get a faster one of course :).
This charger is brilliant. It detects the battery's state of charge, and correctly stops charging when charged. There are too many chargers out there that do not actually detect state of charge. So this is a big deal, and essential if you want the most life out of your batteries. It can also detect bad batteries, and has protection against reverse polarity
I bought this for my two grandsons for Christmas as they have lots of remote toys. They are 5 and 7 and the eldest is totally incharge of making sure all batteries are ready when charged for use. They say the best present ever as bought more batteries so they have a continuous supply.
