A tablet that dissolves

After reading that phosphorus is needed to properly assimilate calcium, I took a look at my diet and found that phosphorus was seriously lacking. I was excited that NSI offered this product, but when I read the post below, “Typical Tablet Problems, July 27, 2007,” I almost did not buy this product. But because of my need for a calcium product with phosphorus, I decided to buy the product and try the dissolve test myself.I submerged 1 tablet of this product in 2oz of vinegar with 5% acidity strength and gave it a good stir every 5 minutes. In 10 min, the outer coating was coming off and from that point on the tablet dissolved quickly, such that by 30 min, all that was left was some very small granules at the bottom of the 4 oz measuring glass.Hence, I strongly ... MoreAfter reading that phosphorus is needed to properly assimilate calcium, I took a look at my diet and found that phosphorus was seriously lacking. However, I do believe that you should do the above test on all tablets you are taking, to prove that they break down in a timely fashion.Like phosphorus, Boron is also needed to properly assimilate calcium, and this product does not include boron. NSI offers product # TL 010481, Twinlab Tri-Boron Plus, which I purchased to take along with this product.

Enzymatic Therapy Bone Health
17 February 2014

Finally a Calcium blend that has it all! Not only does it provide the daily does of Calcium, but also Magnesium and Vitamin D. PLUS, it has Phosphorus as well. Granted, most of us get enough Phosphorus in our diet, but it is good to have some in the Calcium supplement. The tablets are the bigger size, but they do not bother me. I will continue to take these as long as Swanson offers it.

I was going to give 4 stars but couldn't think of a good reason not to give 5.

I use this product for calcium and phosphorus since I may not get enough of them after cutting back on dairy products. The dose strength per tablet is appropriate and useful. And some of the calcium is as calcium gluconate, which is thought to have good bioavaiiability. The price is good for 180 tablets. The tablets are large and not scored, but they are smooth and not too difficult for me to swallow, less difficult than capsules.

I will continue to purchase this product.

This is an excellent product. I read about it and the supplement amounts in a Harvard Newsletter. I have osteopenia and it has helped tremendously. One thing I have come across recently that if you are taking medicine for your thyroid that you should take the calcium at least 5-6 hours afterwards because the thyroid medicine interferes with the absorption of the calcium.

Nature's Way Ruined These/Taste Like Soap!
12 April 2021

This Nature's Way replacement of Enzymatic is terrible. Not as much calcium per pill and made up of more of the cheaper calcium carbonate. Worst of all, the pills begin to dissolve and taste strongly like soap, immediately upon touching the tongue!

The Nature’s Way Calcium when I opened, there is a very strong “chemical” smell.Upon tasting it, the smell was also very strong.Other Calcium tablets that I took, does not have this issue.

What happened to Enzymatic Therapy Calcium Bone Formula?
12 April 2021

Terribly disappointing to come looking for Enzymatic Calcium Bone Formula and find only this poor substitute. I am glad to have read one review from just a week ago that warned me off from them.Worst of all, nothing else that I can find on Swanson's entire line up even comes close to your former product.
