I brought this printer for use at home. The applications that this printer absolutely requires failed to recognise my wifi, and as such cannot connect to any of my home devices. Troubleshooting online has not helped. Searching the internet for answers tells me that this is a common problem, but I was unable to find advice on how to get around this. I was really attracted to the ability to refill the ink cartridges but think this purchase is a lemon.

This is a printer only. No copier in it. The reason I purchased this is because my existing printer had become very old and wasn’t printing very well and the cartridges were now £40-£60. Pros You get 4 bottles of ink that you literally insert into the allocated space and allow the ink to fill the wells. You must squeeze the bottles. Don’t know why. Anyway the prints are good in eco mode a little feint but acceptable. You can print photos on this but I don’t know if the ink supplied is suitable for this purpose. The Epson Iprint app works with this this item which means you can print as free as you want. You do not need to pay to print a document on the app. I noted someone said this. If you already have the app on your iPad and iPhone then you don’t need to remove it. What you need to do is removed the old printer. When that has been removed then use Wi-Fi to locate the IP address to add to the app. The charge per paper is when you sign up to the monthly ink subscription. If you don’t sign upto this then you don’t need to pay for this. For example when asked how many pages will you print a month if you say less than 60 the it’s not worth the bother. But you need to register the printer and I think that is where the confusion has arisen because they ask you to sign up to a plan. You don’t need to sign up to a plan. I saw that on the registration page. You need to look up the Epson iPrint app on the Apple store. It is free. It is free to print from it as well. It is free to print from a PC as well. It is easy to set up. The size is very compact as well. The way I look at is when you get these scanner and printer in one item you are setting yourself up for problem. For example if the copier goes your are stuffed. Also I found that all in ones tend to have a lower spec for the scanner. Also my previous Epson made it extremely difficult to use it as a photocopier. My new scanner that I purchased separately doesn’t even have to be connected to a computer. The price is a bit steep but you don’t need to use ink cartilages anymore. This was the best price out there at the time of purchase. Cons None that I am aware of.

I was hesitant to buy this as it had mixed reviews, however most were around set up which I wasn't too worried about. So set it up installed the software to install, everything worked as per instructions. Very clear and easy to set up on my computer and phone, have tested printing from both and all good. Would recommend based on set up and initial use. I am looking forward to cheaper running costs than a ink cartridge printer which is all I have ever had

I was hesitant to buy this as it had mixed reviews, however most were around set up which I wasn't too worried about. So set it up installed the software to install, everything worked as per instructions. Very clear and easy to set up on my computer and phone, have tested printing from both and all good. I would recommend this printer to all home users! Saves us a lot of $$ and is very easy to set up. We have been buying cartridges (previous printer) which cost us a lot in less than a year. After reading and watching other people's reviews, i went to buy an Epson Ecotank printer. Best decision so far. We will be using this plenty of times especially we work from home most of the time. Setting up using the app is easy as 123
I've had an Eco tank printer prior to this new replacement one, they are efficient, reliable and with the big ink tanks they are very cost effective, with absolutely no mess on filling the tanks. My only 'complaint' was my own fault, I left the printer on for a long period of time and the ink dried out. After multiple head cleaning sessions, I still couldn't get rid of the horizontal over lines in colour pics. I'm still very happy to replace with a new eco tank too :-) Liz
Cons: No screen. Reliant upon a useless app which takes you around in circles.Poor internet connectivity. Have managed to print only the once, then never again, when was urgent. No problems with my simpler older Epsom printer, positioned in same place. Totally regret this purchase! Likely to have to buy another, which will now no longer be an Epsom!
Absolutely brilliant on ink. You get 4 bottles with it. Replacement bottles are less than £10 each - about £35 set. We bought a different model for work 2 years ago & have bought 1 black ink bottle replacement since. We don’t print massive amounts but we previously paid £25 every 5/6 months for cartridges . I got one for home last year and haven’t refilled any colours yet so half a bottle of each still to go in. As others have said though, read the full description and check out the model specs on the Epson site
First off, please ignore the review left by adfred22. This printer is just a printer and nowhere in the description does it state anything about being an all in one printer. That person has left a very unfair review of this printer because they did not read the description. This printer deserves 5 stars all day long. It's so very cheap to print using bottles of ink instead of cartridges. The photos it prints are of an amazing quality and being WiFi you can easily print straight from your phone, tablet or laptop. I love this printer and it's going to save me so much money compared to my old Epson cartridge printer, in fact it's going to pay for itself in the savings from not having to buy cartridges.
It was going to cost £97 to replace my old printer cartridges, so buying this as a replacement was a no brainer. My advice is to completely read the instructions first. I wanted to connect it to my desktop PC so used the USB lead from my old machine and downloaded the app to my iPad, and followed the instructions to the letter. The ink cartridges are easy to fill (no mess). I can manage without a photocopier or scanner by taking photos of documents etc on my iPad and printing them by Wi-Fi. The first printed page had bits missing, so I followed the instructions to clean the heads and now its perfect - and the refills are as cheap as chips. This machine far exceeds my expectations.
It took me around an hour from unboxing to rolling out my first print on the printer. While unboxing, there were all these blue sticky tapes that held the loose parts of the printer. Have to say, I was concerned whether I got them all. Second thing, I fed the ink tanks with ink bottles that came with the printer. You have invert the opened bottle to feed the ink tank. The bottles have been designed so that it wouldn't leak everywhere even where inverted. Kudos for the chosen bottle design. Third, I had to scan a QR code to install the Smart Panel app. I wonder how many people don't know that you just need to open and point the smartphone's camera app at the QR code to get the link to install the app. that took a bit of time. Third, I had to scan a QR code to install the Smart Panel app. I wonder how many people don't know that you just need to open and point the smartphone's camera app at the QR code to get the link to install the app. that took a bit of time. Don't know whether (a) I was impatient, (b) my wifi was slow, or (c) the app was large (haven't bothered to check). Anyway, once I had the app going, the next thing was to pair it with the printer; that took a bit more than 10 mins. Why? Ahem ... you had to put the app to scan for the printer, and trigger the printer's pairing mode; one or the other kept timing out until I figured out the timing. I'm a developer by trade and the default tech support for people within 2 levels of separation; but getting the pairing's timing made me felt somewhat inept. In the end, I got figured it out; wasn't hard but wasn't fun. The app whipped up a little chat based interface to walk you through the whole process. Very nicely done. It was very comprehensive; very obvious they put a lot of work into that part of the app. One of the things the app helped me to do was to connect my printer to my wifi network. Nothing else mention-worthy about the app. On my laptop running macOS Monterey, it could see the printer, but it needed a driver to add the printer. An installation CD come with the printer; who the heck has a CD these days?!? I plugged in ET-1810 into google and downloaded the driver installer that way. One of the unpleasant surprise was the loading of the paper. This is one of the more expensive printers I've bought. Wait! It's the most expensive printer I've bought. All the other printers to date had a cassette for me to load paper into. This one had all the paper sticking up into its backside. What the heck, Epson? It's sitting near my desk like an old typewrite at the moment, it's mocking me I tell you; and yes, I've taken my meds. Is there a difference? Of course there is a difference. In a cassette, the paper lies flat. The paper sticking up like that right now, the paper bends slightly. If I left it like that for extended period of time, the paper is gonna bend AND collect dust. Also, noticed that when it did the ink initialization, it was louder than my previous printer which was an Epson WF-2760. If that noise starts up in the middle of the night, I'm gonna pee or brown my pants. Or both. Gonna have to look into adult diapers. Just in case. I had to pull out a little flimsy tray to receive the prints. It's not sturdy enough to put my mug full of coffee on. If I accidently back my chair into, it's gonna morph into a fun jigsaw puzzle. Printing wise, the quality is great, speed slightly slower than my previous printer (I felt), sounds slightly louder than previous. Ink wise, the level has not budged even after printing about a dozen pages of documents. Awesome!! The printer also comes with an additional year of warranty if you register. As part of registration, you get to write a review. Like what I'm doing now. By the way, that registration/review page will refresh if you take too long writing. So I had to spin up vim to write this. My first version that got refreshed away was a witty version of this. Sigh. This could've been entertaining. Am I happy? Yes and no. Yes because of the ink tank, no because of how the paper is fed into the printer.
