In every case, I kept the automatically adjusted versions.I also used it to scan several full printed pages for archive storage. I will certainly be doing more of that. It is really fast no matter how you use it.I can't tell you how pleased I was with this purchase. It is a huge upgrade from what I am used to using. The machine is compact, sturdy, accurate, gentle, and screamin fast. It set up wirelessly in about three minutes.I will never get back the time I spent in manual labor on those other projects. I am very glad to finally have a nearly labor-free machine. Now I am eager to take on bulk projects with no worries.I was so happy I went back to Office Depot and bought another scanner, an Epson V600 flatbed for scanning flat media and photographic film. Rather than go back to running slow on those materials too. I scanned a batch of slides from the 1960s a few years back, and I know Digital Ice will work better in this flatbed realm. For stuff I can't run through the FastFoto.

Great little scanner! Compact, but very good quality scans. Fast at 600dpi, and blazing fast at 300 dpi. Used a vacuum cleaner with small, soft brush to clean the inside periodically.Installation took some fiddling with, software is not the most robust, but has nice features. The Restore, Enhance does a fabulous job on some old prints (not all).I scanned 5,057 prints of numerous sizes with no issue at all. Some of these were over 60 yrs old and fragile.This project would have taken at least 2-orders of magnitude longer on a flatbed scanner. The most time consuming part was typing in the folder names I wanted for each batch. Scanning is the fastest part of the exercise.Follow the recommendations in the user guide for great results. I thought this was an expensive purchase (esp since I have a flatbed scanner already). So I expected this thing to be great. I'm a week into using this scanner and I am blown away! I've put in about 5 hours of time (including some photo organizing). I've scanned in about 3,500 photos of various sizes and levels of photographic quality and done it at various resolutions. I have been blown away at the speed and quality. I think my wife was as well as she was quite surprised when I was done with the first batch so quickly. It is a bit finicky on things like sticky notes on the back of photos, but even the oddest items went through with ease with the included carrier sheet. I am impressed!

I don't always keep the AI image, but it will often be better than the original. They're named similarly, so they stay together in the folder. I wish i had bought this a year ago. If there are a few photos that want higher resolution, we can certainly do that later. Scanning color photos was quick and efficient, set to automatically save the original and color corrected versions, and also back side if there was any writing! The file naming conventions are a little quirky, but after some investigation it is more flexible than it seemed at first. Out of a large shoebox full of photos, only one couldn’t scan- a greeting card with attached photo was too thick. Did I say wonderful?
