This is such a good quality carrier and very easy to use too. Hip seats make a huge difference to me personally as I do not feel any strain to my back unlike other types of baby carriers. I started using it the moment I received it and I have no complaints so far, in fact I love it! My little one loves being in it especially in the forward facing position so going for grocery shopping has been a breeze. Money well spent on the Ergobaby Alta Hip Seat.

This was so concerning because of how much we relied on it to get things done and go on walks (he of course also refuses a stroller for walks). The zipper on-off is nice, but there’s Velcro on either side of the zipper making this extremely tricky even with full attention and both hands (who has that and also a baby?) as the Velcro catches the zipper as you’re trying to open or close it. You have to hold the zipper at exactly the perfect angle across the entire section just to make it work without getting caught in the Velcro and sometimes mangled. There must be a better way. We were considering getting a 2nd but will wait and see if this gets fixed.

My bub absolutely hates being in any carrier but my partner insisted on getting this hip carrier as he was advised from an acquaintance that it was a game changer. And so hesitantly we made the purchase and boy was I surprised! The hip seat distributes the weight around the hips and relieves my back and shoulders unlike my other carriers I’ve tried that didn’t have the seat. And my bub absolutely loves being in it (forward facing the world position)! I highly recommend this product and I can tell the hip seat will be useful even after bub has outgrown the carrier.

I bought this mainly as a hip seat as my toddler was becoming very clingy so I couldn't get anything done if I had to hold her. I have the onmi 360 but she didn't like being confined in it. I took the Alta on a 6 week overseas trip and it was a godsend. Even though the base is structured I felt like it was not that much bigger than the onmi, especially since you can take the back and hip parts apart.
I bought my ergobaby alta primarily because of the hip seat. And I love it. It's great and very practical to use around the house or for a very short walk. But as a carrier it's very comfortable for me as well for my baby (and she is more than 8 kg). I think it doesn't completely support the M position of the legs, but my baby is almost 6 months old and she does not have any issues with her hips, so I believe that this carrier is perfect for babies around 5-6 months and older (just to be on the safe side bc of te potential hip dysplasia issues). Overall, I would definitely recommend it. It's 10/10. :)
City-living mom here! Love the hip seat, but I have to take a diaper bag even if it’s a quick trip. The seat should be hollowed out to at least it’s own harness or should fit 2 diapers, mini wipe pack and a disposable diaper pad. The side pocket should be zipper to hold my phone safely and I need a key ring to hold my keys. Cherry on top would be if the straps had a little silicon for teething. I expected more at this price point. Very very disappointed in the lack of storage and the current poor storage option.Maybe consider selling a fanny pack attachment?So bummed out ☹️
The quality is great. But the waste part has too much fabric and trying to cinch it tightly is hard. I decided to fold it and keep it cinched that way. To make sure it's secure around my waste. Overall it comfortable and our baby loves it. No longer straining her legs and putting too much weight on her thighs. It's a great product with high quality. Just wished it fit better without the extra cloth around the waste.
I have the ALTA HIP SEAT BABY CARRIER. My son is in the 97th percentile at 6 months so this carrier has been so helpful for my back. Having the hip seat encourages me to lean back while walking unlike other carriers that I feel like are pulling me forward and making my back very sore! I use the carrier once a day if not more and love the beige color! Once my son grow out of the shoulder straps, I can can detach them and just use the seat like a Fanny pack. Honestly it so versatile and functional.
Bought this as I’ve been wanting a hip seat carrier for the past couple of years and wanted one from a reputable brand. I bought right away when I saw Ergo Baby carried them. The only thing that I don’t love about it is I find it hard to get the waist band small/tight enough to fit me. (I just had our 2nd baby 7 weeks ago so I’m not super slim right now either.) My husband mostly uses it with our almost 2 year old because it fits him better.
