Estee is a classic aldehyde floral, like the description says, a sparkling champagne scent. I would recommend it for anyone who loves Chanel No. 5 but wants something more appropriate for every day, working, running errands, hanging out. It takes the mundane and adds a touch of class and elegance. This scent is truly in a class by itself. It is the Queen of Scents!

First off i have a deep respect for Estee Lauder and her products. Coming from a strong family background of EL wearers i can tell you exactly what the classic, vintage fragrances use to smell like. Sadly, instead of creating a new scent for the changing times these classic perfumes that have devoted followers have been tweaked beyond recognition. Estee Super Spray is still a good fragrance, but it does not hold a candle to the original. Also, bring back the original frosty bottle that matched it's mood perfectly. I,personally, do not care for these new bottles that all look the same. Each fragrance had it's on mood, personality, and the bottle style played a lot into the overall impression. I have received ZERO compliments. It does not have the wonderful long lasting scent. Your response says you are listening yet thousands have asked you to bring back the original and you have no plans to. This is NOT listening to your long time loyal customers.

Since the vintage bottles are selling in excess of 100.00 with no guarantee that it has not gone off, I broke down and bought a bottle of the new version. When it arrived, I sprayed some on my arm, hoping that it would be close enough to the original that I could live with it. It did not smell quite right, so I sprayed some of my vintage stash on the other arm: now that was more like it! Heavenly! Other arm, not so good. There is an after smell, if that is such a term, of the mosses only and not of the bright, floral sweetness that used to linger with the original. And while the beauty of the ... If Estee Lauder would listen to their clients, maybe they would go back to the original formula.
I love Estee and have used it 30 years. I still get compliments & people asking what I'm wearing. I usually buy through The Bay but was getting low so thought I'd try website. I ordered twice and both times packages came in perfect shape. The complaint I have is that for the free gift for year of the Rabbit, the free gift showed a lovely makeup bag with it. A makeup bag wasn't included in either order. When I order from The Bay there is always a nice little makeup bag. Still love the product though.
It's terrible! I knew I wasn't the only one that noticed that the original formula has changed. I too, have worn the original Super Estee for 30+ years. It amazes me how product makers think we won't notice a change. I'm so dissapointed and I am still looking for a replacement fragrance. Shame on you Estee Lauder! I wish I could rate it as zero.
Love Spellbound like no other. I wear different colognes. However, Spellbound is the main one I receive the most compliments on past 25 plus years. I had a bottle of the older version when the new bottle/version came out. The older bottle and color darker than the new bottle/version. I still love it and buy it. But even when I sprayed them on a piece of paper side by side and compared, the older version was stronger and better, lasted way longer. So it's NOT because of medications, or wearing it over the years that has changed on my skin. It has in fact been watered down or missing something so to speak. The oils that were used before must have been watered down or something. I used to spray it on my chest and my chest would have a oil shine to it. Same on my wrist. ... What happened to Estee?! I have been wearing Estee Lauder fragrances exclusively for 45 years. Since I rotate among the various fragrances, I haven't worn Estee for several years. Due to negative reviews, I've been hesitant to purchase Estee. A few weeks ago, I decided to try it. The current version is NOT classic Estee. The iconic bottle is gone. Classic Estee was light green in color; the current Estee is amber. Two spritzes of classic Estee would last all day and result in numerous compliments. The current Estee fades within a few hours. I have experienced this with so many well-loved products. Why are wonderful products revised and made inferior?
My husband bought this as a gift because I used to wear it ALL the time years ago. I had people tell me I smelled so good all the time and had men ask me what perfume I wore so they could buy it for their wives. I was heartbroken to find out they changed the formula and it smells awful now. I loved it when it was in the pineapple looking bottle. Back then, it smelled awesome and lasted a long time. Its awful now. I'll be throwing this bottle away.
