I love this cleanser! I've tried a few of the others, and this one's definitely for me. I like that it doesn't have coconut oil in it, and the ingredient list is pretty plain. I appreciate the pleasantly mild scent (I'm not a perfume fan - strongly scented consmetics give me headaches and nausea). I like that it comes in two blocks and the shape means they get max airflow underneath on my wooden soap rack which helps them to stay dry and last well. They last ages! I double wash to get sunscreen off and my skin never gets that tight overwashed feeling, it stays soft even without a moisturiser. I even love the soft minty colour. I have a mixed complexion, I'm mostly a comfortably oily skin, but have dry patches, am sensitive to many things, as well as suffering from eczema, itchiness, and contact dematitis. Clean green seems to soothe my skin, doesn't irritate me at all, effectively cleans gardening dirt, sunscreen, dust and pollen, yet manages to leave my skin feeling plump, smooth and moisturised. Magical.

I am pretty picky with cleansers. I would usually use an oil cleanser followed by a gel cleanser in the evenings however I have been trying to reduce the amount of plastic I use and my skin care is one area where I use a lot of single use plastics. I switched up my cleansing routine so I use the superstar cleanser followed by this and it is working really well. My skin looks healthy and feels comfortable. I can’t really tell whether I prefer this cleanser or the bliss bar so I have been switching up between the two. I do have problematic skin (super oily and acne prone despite being in my 30s) and I was worried that changing up my skincare products would cause breakouts but thankfully it hasn’t. I should have bought a mini... I couldn't decide between Deep Green and the unscented Bliss Bar, but went for this because it said it was better for oily skin, which is my main concern, where the Bliss Bar is marketed to normal to dry skin. "Natural" beauty consumers don't want to hear this but essential oils, especially citrus, can be extremely irritating to the skin, almost all dermatologists will confirm, as will a simple google search. Deep Green contains both sweet orange essential oil and limonene, but I had hoped it wouldn't be so strong (since ethique doesn't list the concentrations of ingredients on the website) and that I could get away with it as I don't typically have very sensitive skin. I was wrong. The fragrance is so strong and it makes my face red ... MoreI should have bought a mini... I was wrong. The fragrance is so strong and it makes my face red for hours after use. The oils must be pretty highly concentrated because the smell doesn't dissipate from my face for a long time. I love the company and what they stand for but I wish natural skincare companies would stop packing their products full of essential oils, and that they'd list the concentrations of ingredients. If I didn't care about the ecological footprint of returns, I would have already returned this, but as it stands I will likely try to gift it and buy the Bliss Bar next time.

Highly Recommend!
31 May 2021

I was so excited when I saw that Ethique had made a clay cleanser, as I had been gifted a mask/scrub that used clay (which had been doing wonders for my skin) but unfortunately was in a large plastic tube. Recently, I purchased the mini version of Deep Green because I was coming to the end of the other one and was hoping it would be similar, and all I can say is wow! Deep Green is my new favourite, it feels so soft and luxurious when I am putting it on my face, and it smells amazing! My skin looks and feels better after using it, doesn't dry out my skin, and although it doesn't scrub like my previous cleanser, I use the Gingersnap exfoliant twice a week, and they seem to work well together (at least for me)! One tip I would suggest is to NOT store this in a metallic ... MoreI was so excited when I saw that Ethique had made a clay cleanser, as I had been gifted a mask/scrub that used clay (which had been doing wonders for my skin) but unfortunately was in a large plastic tube. One tip I would suggest is to NOT store this in a metallic container if travelling, as I totally forgot that metal reacts with the minerals in the clay, which left some sort of tarnished spot on the container, and turned the bits of the bar that was in contact with metal brown, but as the bar is quite soft I just lightly scraped them off as I wasn't sure if it would be good on my skin. I will definitely be recommending Deep Green to my friends and family, or maybe using it as a zero waste stocking filler come Christmas ;PThanks Ethique! Keep up the amazing work!

I stopped making my own soap for this bar
28 April 2022

I have oily skin and used to be very acne prone. When I was younger, the only thing that seemed to help was a popular apricot scrub. When that scrub changed formula, I learned how to make my own soap so I could make something that cleans and exfoliates without drying out too much. I had a recipe I was proud of, it worked well, and sold well when I had my own business for about two years. For about 11 years I was making my own soap, and once I tried the Deep Green mini a few months ago, I was hooked. Most days I don’t even use a moisturizer with it either, only when my skin feels dry and needs a little extra love.

Love this cleanser!
16 February 2023

I've almost finished using this cleanser and I'm about to reorder it. It has lasted me 6 months and I'm so happy with it. I have oily skin and I'm always looking for a product that will clean my skin without stripping everything out of it, along with keeping the pimples away the Deep Green cleaner does that for me. Sometimes deep cleansers are too harsh on my skin and cause more problems than they should. But this is kind to my skin while getting the job done. It also washes away my makeup well at the end of each day.I'm very happy with this cleanser.

My Favourite - Oily Skin Type
25 February 2023

I've tried a lot of different products to cleanse my face with and none would make my face feel and look as good as it does now. I've been using this product for the last month or so and I don't think I will go back to using anything else.About to order my second batch!Pros:- Eco friendly- Great packaging- Smells great- Applies easily- Leaves your face feeling fresh and soft (Doesn't dry you out)- Great for oily skin- A good amount that lasts you a whileCons:- Its a soap bar so you'll need to either buy yourself a soap holder or find yourself a container (gives you a reason to recycle?)- I cant think of anything else

Non stripping face cleanser
1 January 2023

I love this face cleanser. It's so easy to travel with and does not make my face feel dry and tight even during the winter. You have to be careful how you store it though. It's a very soft bar and so it needs to dry out if you don't want it to become a soft mushy mess. I found a travel soap holder with an insert that lifts the deep green bar above any accumulated water, which works great. I have really sensitive skin and have been using this face wash successfully while also using a retinoid. I love this so much I bought more for myself and others!

The Perfect Face Cleanser
31 August 2022

I tried Deep Green Deep Cleaning Solid Face Cleanser mini. The cleaner smells mild and refreshing which makes it perfect for daily use. I rub the cleanser between my palms and apply it on wet face. The cleanser feels clay-like and gentle gentle on skin. My skin type is sensitive, and normal to dry, and I find Deep Green Cleanser is just perfect for my skin type. My skin doesn't feel dry and tight the wash. The cleanser doesn't wash away the natural moisture of the skin.

The bar I didn't expect to love
29 April 2021

I did want try out Deep Green, but I really about it for my teenage son, at least that is how I justified the purchase. He doesn't want to try it. I did and fell in love with it. My skin leans towards the dry side, especially in the winter months. So I have been using Bliss bar which is non drying, gentle and does a really good job removing makeup. But for the other eight months of the year, it is extremely humid. My face doesn't really get oily, but it always seems to be damp and sweaty in the summer. So I thought I might like a deeper cleaning bar. This feels wonderful on my skin. It has a luscious feeling going over your skin, kind of like the Orange Creme body bar not not super moisturizing.
