Originally got Blink cameras and returned those in 3 days. They were pure junk (terrible picture, worse night vision, terrible sound quality and it had this awful digital squealing over the recordings quite often. Also, only sporadic motion detection). Did a bit more research and chose this Eufy set and the 1080p set. The closed system with no subscription was the original appeal but the quality of the cameras themselves is fantastic! There's obviously a few choices out there and I've edited a few of them but these by far are my favorites for picture, sound, and motion detection. There are a few caveats to them but they are minor in comparison. I'll update on the features as the need arises. Durable and water tight. Cons: Instalation is finicky with several moving unattached parts that can be an issue. Especially if dropped and lost. ***my biggest con*** up to 3 Activity zones but they are only rectangles and cannot be uniquely shaped. This is a problem for those of us that do not have perfect rectangles or squares for property or are trying to avoid / capture certain angles. No continued shapshot capture. This may not be an issue for everyone but it's one preferred feature I have of the Ring. The continuous capturing of a snapshot every 15 minutes or so is not an option on the eufy cameras. That feature has assisted us in capturing and timing of events in the past by capturing things that didn't trigger motion detection or more often are outside of our activity zones but still incredibly helpful. Overall: Absolutely would recommended.

The Eufy cameras are super easy to set up and install. The settings are very customizable so you can get as many or as few notifications as you want. My house is set close to the road and the “people detection” feature is great at not alarming over a passing car. Although it does occasionally alarm when a pedestrian is walking by. My house is about 10 feet from the sidewalk though so I think that would happen with any security system and I can snooze the camera notifications if they’re becoming bothersome. The home security system is also great. This camera system was recommended to me by someone who has it. I looked for other systems that were less money but they were not in stock or had reviews that complained about the monthly charges. This one cost more but you don’t need to purchase a monthly plan. You can, but don’t need to. So, I got this to keep an eye on my puppy when she’s in her crate when I’m not home. I have not really left her alone yet, but I was able to set up the camera and the app without difficulty and I’m not tech savvy. I have one camera pointed at the upstairs crate and the other on the downstairs crate. The picture is clear and looks good. It’s not as clear at night but picks up the motion well. I would recommend this product so far.

I purchased this based on a number of reviews. Setup was not very difficult when compared to other systems out there. There is basic motion detection, storage, and a number of things can be configured. Other systems have better motion detection and more configurations though. It would have been nice to configure that activity range for motion detection for specific areas rather than the sizable rectangle Eufy gives. The big concern is the reliability of the camera system. Out of the box, the first camera synchronized just fine, but then it stopped communicating with the base. I tried removing it from the app, but can no longer add it. It won't even beep when resetting (holding the sync button for 10 seconds), nor will it beep when trying to sync it (holding the sync ... MoreI purchased this based on a number of reviews. It won't even beep when resetting (holding the sync button for 10 seconds), nor will it beep when trying to sync it (holding the sync button for 2 seconds). The other camera had no issues and added to the system flawlessly. Because I've seen others having trouble with synching the cameras, I am concerned. Hopefully this is a one-off.I may upgrade the quality to good or very good if the camera issue is resolved and remains good.
These cameras are very solid for the money. I have one mounted near my garage entry and on in my backyard. Both cameras are great at detecting people, animals, and vehicles. I haven't had many situations where detection didn't work. The image is clear and the app is faster at opening the images than competitors like google. Installation was a breeze including connecting them to my network and network connection is always stable. The battery life so far is pretty close to as advertised. My biggest issue with these is that Eufy just came out with the new base station that is more secure and has expandable storage and they came out with new cameras with built-in solar panels rendering the 2C pro obsolete already. I must admit that I had a few reservations about buying into the Eufy ecosystem. The earlier Eufy cam was quite honestly underwhelming. The reviews were terrible and the customer service tales were extremely concerning. However I did need a security camera setup for my house so I eventually purchased the Eufy Cam 2C Pro 3 camera kit.Previously I had 2 iterations of the Arlo; the original wireless cams which I later upgraded to the Pro3. I also had the Arlo wireless doorbell. Unfortunately the original cameras were quite limited in ability which is why I upgraded to the Pro3. Unfortunately the Pro3 comes with only a short period (6 months?) of access to the website before they expect you to pay. I also had the Arlo wireless doorbell. Unfortunately the original cameras were quite limited in ability which is why I upgraded to the Pro3. Unfortunately the Pro3 comes with only a short period (6 months?) of access to the website before they expect you to pay. What they don't tell you is that remote doorphone operation is dependent upon website access so once you lose that, the doorbell functionality also goes away.I wasn't able to get local video recording and access working either making the whole thing pretty much useless. It also seemed to me that the entire Arlo ecosystem was cobbled together piecemeal.Like many homes, its difficult to get wiring to the front & back doors. There's certainly no electrical cabling nearby and it's a confined space so putting a camera there would make it easily reachable and (potentially) stealable. So, for the original Arlo, I built plates into the corner above the door with a cable through the wall to a battery box. All this still existed when I upgraded to the Eufy so I repurposed it to the new camera system. So the Eufy... It's good and like it but it does have some limitations. Here's what I found:PROs- long battery life- simple installation- excellent app which provides remote access & viewing- NO monthly fees- two way speechCONs- weird setup interface that talks to you- cameras not as sensitive as expected- mounting stand only suitable for vertical surfaces- video does not immediately record (3-6 sec delay)- can't upgrade local storage- no dry contacts on Homebase or doorbell for 3rd party chimesMy primary concerns were that I needed a battery & wireless based system that I could have remote access to without paying a monthly fee. I got that with the Eufy... however I'll also be the first to admit that the features aren't as good as the Arlo (mainly camera sensitivity, clarity & triggering). I note that Eufy have just released the 3C so I suspect a few of the issues might be addressed in the latest iteration. That said, it ticks most of the boxes so although it might not be the absolute best system going, its good enough.I've only just purchased the doorbell and haven't installed yet. Again it lacks dry contacts to interface with existing bell wiring. The Arlo has got it beat there.
I travel for work almost every other week. I originally purchased the Blink camera system because I was thrilled with having month long battery life and the tiny profile cameras I could mount in the corner of my room. They served me well for a time, but like many people I began having major privacy concerns when Amazon purchased them. Eufy's camera systems are different. No footage is uploaded to the cloud and instead all of your video lives locally on your device. Eufy claims it is encrypted, but I wish they would specify if their employees have any way to ever access the footage or not. Some clarification on the privacy end of things would help further set them apart from Blink and their other competitions.I decided to take a chance on the Eufy 2C after having ... MoreI travel for work almost every other week. Some clarification on the privacy end of things would help further set them apart from Blink and their other competitions.I decided to take a chance on the Eufy 2C after having an amazing experience with Eufy's video doorbell.I'm so glad I did! The cameras are low profile and blend in easily in corners or even just mounted to walls. The base station is quite small and looks right at home next to my router, and the app works instantly with no headache. The cameras have crisp video and audio and Eufy provides easy-to-follow instructions for mounting. I do wish the mounts were magnetic or had a way to quickly remove the cameras for charging. Thankfully, after several days I haven't gone down a single tick in battery life so I am hopeful charging will be few and far between. Notably missing is Homekit support and expandable storage, but Eufy promises us that both of these features are coming soon. They seem to have a good track-record for customer service so I am hopeful.Below I will provide some pros/cons but to be honest none of the cons are dealbreakers, just things I hope Eufy will consider for their next software updates and product iterations. This is the best security camera system I have ever used and one of the simplest setups as well. I can't recommend this product enough! Go buy it!Pros:-GREAT video quality-Spotlight functionality-Seamless App and great wireless range-Good installation instructions-Battery life/USB charging-RTSP (record to your network or NAS!)-Clear audio & 2/way audio-Good nightvision performance-Recording light-Built-in sirens on each camera and homebase-AI detection means my pets don't set off the cameras (THANK-YOU!)Cons:-No HomeKit Support-No Geofencing (Auto arm on leaving and disarm on arrival)-16GB/ No way to expand storage with USB or SD (yet)-Mounts are cumbersome, magnetic would be a lot easier to remove for charging-No way to re-arrange order of cameras in the app
I researched this brand, and they are rated high, especially for the price. This is my first purchase of a camera for outdoors and I am not very experienced in mounting anything to a building. These are very easy to install. They supply a sticker so you can easily mark and drill the holes with ease. They need to be mounted at least 10 ft high. I live in apartments and that is about as high as I can get, but it is high enough that someone can't just walk up and remove the cameras. I will be able to use a step ladder to remove them for charging, but the charge lasts 180 days so that won't be an issue. It wasn't difficult to set up the connections to the home base and I am no techie. I labeled 1-unit front door and the other back patio. The range of view lets me see my patio area and the sidewalks, so the range is really good. My front door allows me to see my front door area and my neighbors. I love they are wireless, and I don't have to purchase a subscription! They are very clear visually, day or night. You can set it up to notify you if you leave home, which is a nice option. And you can also set the sensitivity. Living in an apartment people are walking by all day with dogs, etc. Oh, I love that I can speak thru the camera, and it has a spotlight and siren. The siren is pretty loud. I've had some violent neighbors thru the years and knowing I can warn someone and cause a lot of noise in a crisis is awesome They were delivered quickly, and I feel confident because Best Buy stands by their products. I am super pleased and feel so much safer.
This camera was an addition to four identical cameras I have installed around my property. The resolution is excellent, and the ability to be able to view from your mobile or iPad from anywhere as well as control the inbuilt features remotely is excellent. Pairing with the homebase is simple and quick and installation similarly simple. Use the free Eufy app to check that your planned location is receiving the wifi signal before you mount the camera. I use solar panels bought separately to power the batteries even though they have a claimed six month charge. For cameras close together one solar panel can be used to power two cameras using an inexpensive micro usb splitter cord. Up to 15 devices can be added to the homebase. I have 3 of these cameras installed around my house. The batteries lasted less than 3 months. We did not even activate the night vision mode to extend the battery life and instead kept our exterior lamps on at night so the cameras could "see" without the night vision. The disappointing part is that if you turn the night vision feature on, a ring of red LEDs will appear on the camera which make it too obvious on the wall. One reason we bought these cameras was for their small and sleek design and are inconspicuous when up on the wall. So these red LEDs totally ruin that for us. Other companies have figured this out and Eufy needs to improve this feature. Also, cameras miss some of the motions and won't record. Other companies have figured this out and Eufy needs to improve this feature. Also, cameras miss some of the motions and won't record. This problem occurs more often when you have 2 back to back motions (like 2 deliveries back to back, or when kids play outside and a delivery person shows up). In addition, the cameras do not detect or record any motions during the time you watch a footage from that specific camera. This is a BIG miss on Eufy's part, IMO. That means whenever you are watching a recording, no motion will be recorded on that camera. There is ALWAYS a few seconds delay between the motion and when you get notified. As a software engineer, I'd say Eufy devs need to step up their game here.Lastly, working with Eufy's customer service is very frustrating. They send you canned responses and keep repeating themselves without really paying attention to the issue. They are combative and far from friendly. Unfortunately, I have invested so much in their products (cameras, door lock, doorbell, etc...), so I'll be stuck with them for a while before I can switch. I tried to sell them second hand for a half the price but got no interest. All in all, I do not recommend Eufy products and I do not want to deal with the company unless they improve their customer service.
