The doorbell sends you notifications when it detects activities or someone rings the doorbell (all this is programmable thru the app). We're completely pleased with this Eufy doorbell camera!

Then do the swap for zero down time.You can remove the doorbell and charge the battery but that means you will not have any doorbell for about 4-6 hours while the battery is charging.

And you might want to adjust or turn off the loitering announcement that is on by default- I disabled the voice prompt but kept the notifications.It works wired with my old doorbell chime and is powered by that wiring.

The issue I have is my porch is really a just a large step set inward, so I have a little walls to the left and right of the door. While the ring camera could capture who was walking up (but it missed people constantly) and it would not capture the package on the porch due to the angle. The field of view was narrower as well. Someone could walk along the front of my house and bend down and be out of the view of the ring camera and grab whatever was on the porch.With the Eufy E340, the camera pointing down gets 95% of my porch step and has wider field of view for the walkway up to my porch which is important due to the side walls. I wish they offered a mount that would make if flush over siding, but carefully screwing it in so it sits flush. Also, if you have to use the electrical twist caps there is really nowhere for those to fit in. If they had a slightly large wedge mount with opens spaces in the gaps and notches for the wiring to stick out to be hooked up, that would resolve the issue. I had to cut a larger hole in my siding and shove them in there. I do feel the need to caulk around the doorbell mount now to protect that opening as I don't feel it's sealed due to how it had to be mounted on the siding.

Pretty good doorbell, especially when you get it on sale! I chose this doorbell in particular since it has onboard storage meaning you don't have to pay any subscription plan, but you could use their online storage service if you'd like to. I mainly got this for packages and some peace of mind due to some issues in the neighborhood recently. To quickly list what I like and don't like, please read below:Pros:- Dual cameras, one is angled towards the ground so that you can see packages that arrive.- Clear camera quality. I chose this doorbell in particular since it has onboard storage meaning you don't have to pay any subscription plan, but you could use their online storage service if you'd like to. I mainly got this for packages and some peace of mind due to some issues in the neighborhood recently. To quickly list what I like and don't like, please read below:Pros:- Dual cameras, one is angled towards the ground so that you can see packages that arrive.- Clear camera quality. When I review clips, I have been able to zoom in and still see whos nearby.- This can be seen as good or bad but I like the range of detection, I get notifications anytime someone walks by on the sidewalk. I have not been bothered by getting a few more notifications on my phone to see what's going on.- Night vision is awesome and if someone is nearby, the lights on bottom of the camera will turn on.- Installation was very easy, it's what you'd expect from any other doorbell installation. If you've done ring or any other ones, this should be a breeze.Cons:- Amazon Alexa integration is subpar at times. I used this in tandem with an Amazon echo show so that I could view the front door off of it. There are many times where echo will say that the doorbell is offline, but I and all family members can still view the live stream off of the eufy security app.- The package security feature can sometimes drive me crazy. For the most part it has been good, but there have been occasions where nothing has been delivered and nothing is in the bottom cameras view, but it will spam me with 20+ notifications within a minute stating that a package has been removed. Maybe it's just a me problem, but sucks when it happens.Overall consensus:I think this is a great camera and is definitely a great choice when on sale! I am satisfied with this purchase and will look at eufy in the future for any other security cameras if needed!
First off, I truly love this device. The fact that it has a spot light, high def recording and even dual cameras is all a huge plus.The downfalls lie in the poor battery performance. With moderate motion, I have to replace mine every 3 weeks. Where-as with my google nest, I charged nearly every 2-3 months with the same motion if not more. The other thing that lacks is wifi stability. The doorbell will for no reason go offline. I was in back to back emails with Eufy support before I threw up the white flag because they couldn't even figure out what was wrong with it. I returned it to Best Buy and got a replacement thinking the first one I got was a dud. This replacement does the same exact thing, which means it has to do with the camera itself.
