Update:I have used the mopping function and I'd like to report, it's ok. Not capital letter OK, but it's ok.I do 1 heavy mop day each week, I customize the schedule to do max water, otherwise it doesn't cover the floor evenly as it will only streak the water across the floor, but does good enough that I'm not lowering my 5* review.I was so amazed by the 1st one, that I DID by a 2nd one (little overkill for my house) but it is an amazing product. The 2nd one doesn't cover as much area (sq ft) as my 1st, so I use it on our lower level on Saturday's. You can use a unit on more than 1 floor in your house, move it when you need to and map the floor. You can use a unit on more than 1 floor in your house, move it when you need to and map the floor. When you use it, move it to that floor of your house, it will automatically recognize where you moved it to and then execute the cleaning routine that you planned. Can't say enough good things about it. If you want something that mops and mops well I'd consider the X9, but you can't go wrong with this.----------------------------------------I received this X8 on 1-6 after Eufy Customer service sent me a replacement of my G30. So pretty early for a review and I would have waited longer except the X8 has been amazing! FYI. I have yet to use the mopping function. When I received my unit, I plugged it in, and once fully charged, I sent it out to map my 1st floor. It mapped the whole place in around 10 mins. I let it return to the base and then I set up NoGo zones (under my couch), a couple virtual barriers for dog gates that I have and each of the rooms, Kitchen-Dining Room, Living Room, Hallway, Bathroom and my office. The app was very close in setting those rooms automatically but I did have to slightly adjust it, which was extremely easy. I set the schedule and order that I wanted the rooms cleaned in and then I turned it loose to see what it could do.In the partial photo of my living room you can see the cleaning pattern in the floor. It very accurately cleans in rows and accurately displays it's position on the cleaning map. The manual controls via the app work well with a minimal amount of lag between button presses/releases of 0.5-1 second. The photo of the cleaning map is of my dining room where I have a large round table and 6 chairs. This was one of the primary failure points of my G30 that the X8 excels at. The X8 is small enough to get between the chair and table legs and effortlessly maneuvers around all those obstacles. That was the long of it, here's the short.Pros:Precise app control. Manual operation work great. Setting NoGo Zones and barriers is easy and accurate.Cleaning: Hardwood, Tile and carpet. It picks up dirt on the hard surfaces that other vacs I've had (11s, G20, G30) merely push around. It is louder than the other units I've had but it doesn't bother us. We've had these vacs for a couple years so we barely even notice.De-tangler: My wife sheds like she's a wookie with mange. So much so that at least once a week I have to manual clean all the machines in the house. So far, no issues with the X8 and the roller is clean as a whistle. Thank you EUFY!Functionality: As you can see in the cleaning map of my dining room, it easily gets in and around all the places you want it to go. I was able to remove my expensive boundary tape and give the X8 free range over the house and the best part? I've only had to touch it once! It got stuck between the magnetic boundary strips that we had to set up for the G30, now those are gone and there's been no other problems.Cons: The only Con that I have is on me, that I didn't spend the extra money and purchase this over the G30. It is worth every penny. So much so that I see the X8 is on sale today, looks like my G20 is getting replaced as well.Love, Love, Love!

We do not have any pets, so I cannot speak for the robot s ability to clean up after them. But my wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I am now having joint pains, so anything which makes cleaning easier, especially when it avoids the need to scrub the floor, is a great help.I let this loose on our apartment, which has a mixture of laminate floors, carpets and rugs, with some cushioning mats around the sink and stove. The robot transitioned from one surface to another without the least difficulty.I thought I would find out what the robot could cope with; so I left things in the way. Chairs, my camera tripod, a few boxes, and an umbrella in the corner. This robot went round them all with ease. To my astonishment it did not even knock over the umbrella, and was able to navigate between the legs of my tripod, which were spread only slightly wider than the robot s diameter. I even tried moving things around, to try to confuse the robot but in each case it detected the new position of an item and found a new way through sections of floor it had already gone through before.I could post you a video of this device going round and round the kitchen for several minutes but I have cut that down to 42 seconds. For me the question is, how long will it take before I come to think of this as normal, instead of following the robot around being amazed by its ingenuity? I get quite intrigued by its whirling brush knocking all the loose dirt under the vacuum, as well. This device is a wonderful combination of software and hardware design.I am very impressed. Maybe there will always be some level of floor cleaning which no robot will ever be able to do, but the vast majority of cleaning is just a nuisance that one wants to avoid. This robot will hunt down anything loose on the floor, and watching it is still a form of entertainment a week after I first took it out of the box.

We bought this Eufy X8 Pro as a replacement for a 7 year old Roomba. It seems a lot has changed in robotic vacuums over that time. This Eufy was less than half the price of the Roomba, yet it easily has twice the suction power and is so much quieter too. The self emptying bin is a game changer too. With our old robot we had to empty the bin after every run. Our old robot struggled to pick up larger items, the X8 Pro has no problem with that. The control app felt a little clunky at first, but now that I have been using it for a while I find it really ease to navigate. So easy to program and use.We haven't tried the mopping function yet, actually writing this review has just reminded me that it even has that function. The X8 Pro is excellent value just as a robot vacuum. The fact that it can mop too is a real bonus. I'll give it a try soon and come back and update this review when I can.

Bought this not really expecting it to be any good but wanted to give it a bash. I was so wrong. It’s now been named and is classed as one of the pets! The app is simple to set up and very easy to use. I need to look at it further to create no go zones but that’s on me.Easy to empty, takes itself back to base when it’s done and the mop function is fantastic. My advice is to dampen the mop pad before you pop it on so it hits the ground running so to speak rather than it having to wet it using the water tank.As someone who struggles with hoovering and cleaning tasks, this has actually made me tidier as I keep the floors clear for it to be able to clean. It knows where steps are so doesn’t fall down the stairs, readjusts itself for when you’ve placed stuff in the ... MoreBought this not really expecting it to be any good but wanted to give it a bash. Picks up more than my 2 year old shark. The only downside is that it can’t do the stairs! (I use a rubber brush and sweep it all down and leave it for the vacuum). All in all I’m so pleased I gave it a try, the shark is going in the garage so I never have to lug that heavy lump around again!!
Initially there was an app issue that kept me from being able to connect the vacuum to my wireless router. Over a little over a week I worked with technical support which helped give me a workaround to get things working. They have apparently updated the app, so this should no longer be a problem, but I did have initially difficulty/frustration when it came to connecting the vacuum to the internet. Now that that is out of the way- here are the rest of my thoughts about this vacuum:I have a really old robot vacuum, which is my base of comparison:-I found this vacuum quite a bit quieter than my old vacuum for two reasons. It starts out a lot quieter and it also isn't smashing into things like my old one was constantly doing. It's not actually quiet- just quieter. Like you can be on the phone with this running and it would only be a little annoying.-The vacuum generally cleans quite well. I have a cat and it picked up a lot of fur and litter (which is really what I want for it). The mopping function is nice, and picks up some stuff off the floor but will not replace mopping and leaves a lot of streaks. It's really just a wet pad that goes over the floor. I also thought it did an impressive job on my rugs. Not quite as good as my upright, but for not having to lift a finger it does a really impressive job.-This will still get tangled in cords, so you have to tidy any of those up before letting this run.-This is slightly taller than my last robot vacuum, so there are some spaces (under a dresser, for example) that it can't get under that my last vacuum was able to.-The mapping function is awesome. It mapped my place quite well and it was easy to create both no go and no mop zones on the map (it will now avoid my cat's bowls!). It also allows for zone cleaning so you can focus cleaning on one area of your house.-It almost always was able to make it back to the base, however about 1/4 of the time it seemed to push the base somehow and then was no longer able to dock.-The dust bin has a small lip, so sometimes it takes a bit of effort to get all the litter out of it, but it's not a major issue. All in all, I'm having a great experience with this vacuum and living in a cleaner home because of it.
Okay, first let me just say that when I bought this vacuum there were only 6 reviews, and 5 of them were from verified product reviewers who got the vacuum for free, so I was skeptical at best. But we have 5 dogs (2 Shepherds, a Pyrenees, and 2 tiny mutts) and a cat, plus I had a baby 6 months ago, so 5 of us shed really bad, and 2 of us don't. I'll let you figure out that riddle ? Naturally, having a baby who is learning to crawl, I wanted our floors to be fur free, but I'm also active duty military and often work long hours because of that, we have a 14 year old involved in all of the sports and schedules that entails, and my husband and I play indoor soccer two nights a week. Ain't nobody got the time or the energy to sweep every single day. Plus, it doesn't help that I'm the only human in my home that knows how to use a broom, apparently. Having said that, I usually do my research at nauseum, but was really concerned when this vacuum had very little in way of reviews. Honestly, I was 1 click away from buying the roborock quevo when I decided that I had to try this machine. At the time of purchase I owned a Shark. When I bought it, it's biggest selling point was that it was bagless, and I didn't want to spend a fortune on bags, but I'll get to that in a minute. For comparison sake, I'll be comparing the shark to the eufy, because it's night and day y'all. The pros: it has an automatic brush detangler that works so well!! The attached pic is after 2 days of use on what was initially an unswept floor. I am not kidding when I say that the shark would leave clumps 3 times that size behind, not to mention, the shark would constantly get stuck because hair would get caught on the ends of the brush roller and wouldn't allow it to roll at all. So what did I do? Well I bought multiple filters and rollers, and after months of vigorously cleaning it after each use and swapping out parts, it would still get stuck mid-clean, every time. But the Eufy will stop mid-clean, detangle, and go right back to cleaning. You can set multiple schedules to include set schedules for different rooms, which really helps keep the fur down. I could only set 1 schedule for the whole house with the shark, which meant my dogs had shed a whole other dog worth of fur and the shark had to get it all at once and here I am just thinking "may the odds be ever in your favor." Newsflash: the shark was not built of the same stuff that Katniss Everdeen was.It has 3 suction settings. Because we have all these furry critters, I run it on the highest suction level, which does take more battery, but I have it scheduled to basically split the house in half, cleaning 1 half and then the other half 2 hours later, which gives it plenty of time to recharge, and I gotta say, my floors have never been this clean. It has a mop attachment.... that I haven't used yet. But when you have 5 dogs and a doggy door and you're at work when it rains, you're going to come home to muddy paw prints everywhere. I'm just hoping the mop will make less work for me.The sensor is awesome and updates in real time as it runs. Which means that when my toddler rides her scooter to the middle of my living room the eufy sees it rather than knocking it over. Or when my Pyrenees is too lazy to move out of the way, it goes around him.The app is super easy to use and shows you where the vacuum is in real time. It also keeps a log of all of your cleanings. There are no go zones you can set, although I haven't messed with those yet, and you can spot clean simply. Overall it's user friendly. It has a child lock and I have a feral toddler. Do I need to say anymore? It has a do not disturb mode, so that it won't start in the middle of the night (or whatever time you set) for whatever reason (maybe you're not using the child lock and a dog bumps a button). The cons: it has a bag and the bags are rather pricey, but I figure I can just put a zipper in one and problem solved. It sure beats paying for all of the replacement parts I was buying for the shark. It is rather loud, but remember, I run it on the highest suction, so that's to be expected. During the week, I just have the schedule set for when we're not home.Cords are it's kryptonite. And my husband's headphones are usually casualty #1. He constantly leaves them on the ground and then I complain, he does better for a few days, and then it's back to business as usual. However, I feel this is a bigger con for my husband than the vacuum. The battery only lasts about an hour on high suction, but this isn't that big of a deal since I can set multiple schedules. I need that high suction so I can walk around in my socks without giving them a winter coat.Overall , so far, I'm thrilled with this purchase. I can walk around in socks or bare feet comfortably, and when my fam stops by unannounced I don't have to rush to clean up or be embarrassed that I can't keep up with all the things.
I purchased the X8 Pro (affectionately named M-O after the character on Wall-E, which stands for Microbe Obliterator) recently after my old robot vacuum cleaner (Rosie, from the Jetsons) died after 10 years with us. (RIP Rosie!)I watched many reviews videos before settling on this one, which was specifically aimed for pets. I have two mega-floof cats, a birman and a ragdoll, plus a dog and 2 long haired humans and teo short haired humans. So having a robot vacuum for every day maintenance in between proper vacuums is important to our home.So far I've been super impressed! It was so easy to set up and start mapping our house. The app is easy to use. I love watching the app to see what M-O is up to. I love that he goes back to his home and empty's out. When it does this, it is quite loud. But it's not a problem for me. You can set 'do not disturb' to start at whatever time where it won't 'talk' or empty the dust bin during that time.It also cleans the brush underneath automatically which is great for the pet/long human hair.Only thing I found a big funny was it sees the full length mirror wardrobes as 'another room' that it just can't get to. So the map looks a bit odd there. Haha but it's not really an issue.I highly recommend this product, for the cost of it I find it just perfect for my home! Oh and as a bonus it can be linked to google. So I can just say hey google, start M-O. And off he goes. 😂 I don't do this typically as I have a schedule set every day anyway. But just an extra handy feature.
This is the first robot vacuum I've had, so perhaps my expectations are overly high. This thing doesn't do particularly well - the suction is okay, but the rollers and the side brush barely do anything. In fact, when I use it on my hard wood floor in the kitchen, all it does is move the dirt around. When I use it on carpeted areas, it barely picks up anything... put it this way, I have it set to come on once a day when I'm out at work, and most of the time, I'm not sure it has even done anything. As for getting around obstacles, it's not very good. it just batters into things, reverses, turns slightly, batters into the same thing again, reverses, turns slightly... and so on. I don't see any benefit of the mapping function as it routinely is unable to pinpoint itself ... MoreThis is the first robot vacuum I've had, so perhaps my expectations are overly high. I ordered this because since getting our golden retriever I was getting stressed about how often I had to vacuum. I have him on a schedule so he sets off at 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends. He only does the living room and dining room because the dog gate means he can’t escape from there. I’m pretty chuffed with him! He doesn’t do the best job - there have been a couple of times when it’s seemed like he couldn’t get the hair up and he does seem to struggle with bits on the rug - but he does a good enough job that I’m no longer stressing about getting the big vacuum out. I get that out twice a week now, rather than every day. He’s excellent on the hard floors and good (not great) on the rugs, but he does leave lovely lines. It takes about 20 mins to do that room ... MoreI ordered this because since getting our golden retriever I was getting stressed about how often I had to vacuum. It takes about 20 mins to do that room and we lift the dining chairs, pet beds and coffee table out of his way before we go to bed to make it easier for him although I watched him go the first time and he’s perfectly capable of navigating around them. All in all I’m pleased I got him, he’s OK at picking up golden retriever fur, but could be a bit better. My life has definitely improved since having him around. If you don’t have a goldie, you’ll be golden!
As a long-time roomba user, I was curious to try this. We have another Eufy product that I enjoy so thought this one would be good to. It was very easy to set up: plug in, download an app, hook up to wifi and go.Right off the bat I noticed a big positive that is different from my Roomba: The map was populating automatically by what the vacuum was scanning. And you could see exactly where the robot was on the map. It populated the rooms quickly and accurately, and didnt run into things as much as my roomba does. The cleaning was impressive and i was surprised to see how much dirt and dog hair was in the bag after just one cleaning. The mopping is an added bonus. It was very easy to mark off on my map which room and areas to avoid while mopping and it did a good job ... MoreAs a long-time roomba user, I was curious to try this. The cleaning was impressive and i was surprised to see how much dirt and dog hair was in the bag after just one cleaning. The mopping is an added bonus. It was very easy to mark off on my map which room and areas to avoid while mopping and it did a good job with that as well. It seems to clean much quicker than my roomba doesThere are a few caveats. I wont call them negatives just yet as it could be because I am not fully aware of how to use this.1) my robot keeps trying to go outside as we have a large glass sliding door. It doesn't recognize this as a door and sees it as a new room to go to and keeps running into the glass. Its taken me a few tries to figure out how to set a border so that it would stop trying to go to this "room"2) I have it set up for "Multi-map saving" so that i can clean both floors of my house. However, when i tried to move it upstairs, it overwrote the downstairs map. I will update if i can figure this out3) There is only a manual "do not disturb" and not one that you can set. It would be ideal to have this so you could set it not to run at certain times (ie when sleeping). I was surprised and awakened when it started running again at 10:30 last night after recharging4) I mentioned earlier that it cleans alot quicker than my roomba, and Im unsure of if this is a good or bad thing yet. My map shows it covering my entire downstairs (550 sq ft) in just 49 minutes. In comparison, my roomba covering a similar space upstairs often takes a few recharges and several hours. If you plan to have this running a few times a week it will probably do a thorough job, but im unsure yet if it is missing places by being quicker. It doesnt seem like it though5) I cant tell if it both mops and vacuums if you have the mop attachment on, or just mops. It seems like it is just mopping. Would be nice if you could set it to vacuum just and then mop afterwards without having to change anything. I am unsure yet if it works this way; when i installed hte mop attachment it seemed like it was only mopping.I will update if i find any solutions to my concerns, but overall the impressive mapping, quick cleaning, and added bonus of mopping capabilities make this a good choice
