Engineered for speed, comfort and full-throttle attitude, the reimagined 5150 Series Standard is an iconic blast from the past that blends both throwback and modernized features. Like its predecessor, the 5150 Standard features a modified Strat-style basswood body with a deeper upper body curve. The graphite-reinforced bolt-on quartersawn maple neck features a comfortable modified "C" profile, hand-rubbed satin urethane back finish, heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel and color matched "hockey stick" headstock with EVH logo decal. Built for smooth and speedy playability, the 12"-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets and cream dot inlays. While the famed striped original had a single humbucking bridge pickup only, the 5150 is outfitted with an HH pickup configuration controlled by a three-way toggle switch on the upper bout. The custom designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking bridge pickup delivers the perfect amount of punch and articulation with sweet sustain and thick chunky rhythms in a perfectly balanced EQ curve. The EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucker neck pickup serves up no-nonsense, balls to the wall overdrive and endless sustain without skimping on articulate cleans when the volume is rolled down. A custom designed low friction volume knob creates even-volume tapering for the smoothest volume swells, while the high friction tone knob will stay in place even if accidentally bumped. An added feature comes in the way of a lower bout kill switch, allowing you to mute your guitar for those stutter, rhythmic effects - think "You Really Got Me." Decked out with a "dive-bomb" certified EVH-branded top-mount Floyd Rose bridge, the locking tailpiece features fine tuners for each string and a patented EVH D-Tuna for switching back and forth from drop-D to standard tuning in an instant.

Overall I had a fantastic experience with this purchase. The team at Manny are always super friendly and helpful. The only thing that was a little disappointing is that the guitar had dust on it from sitting instore (it was an open box guitar that had been used on display which I knew about before purchasing). Just kinda took the shine off unboxing a new (and expensive) guitar. I just hit it with an air compressor to clean it up.

Ok this guitar is awesome. The neck is perfect!!! Thinner than my Fender Strats, doesn't have that thick Poli nice and smooth. The electronics are first rate the pickups are killer. There is a big difference between the neck and bridge. I've been playing guitar since I was 10 I'm 53. I have Gibson and Fender Custom shop guitars, only American Strats. I thought let me try this, Eddie put his name on it, let me tell you this is the guitar I play everyday.

Consistent quality and playability. I have several of these 5150 Series guitars. Great pickups, great neck. Neon pink in person looks much better than the website photos.

Overall:Plays wonderful. Bridge pickup is killer. Neck was to warm for my taste and had a little too much distortion in it no matter how clean I tried to make it so I installed a duncan 59. It now is exactly what I expected. I hate the switch though. It pops and crackles in middle and keeps loosening up. It's not good at all.
Guitar playing is a hobby of mine. These are qaulity tough and sound great. This is my second one and id like another someday. Guitar center has been verry good to me and i will do more buisness with them in the future.Thank you
Easily worth the money I paid for it. Actually a pretty awesome guitar. If I was going to improve on this it would be to replace the Floyd 1000 with an original and 86 the D-Tuna, that is what I plan on doing in the future. No complaints at all with this purchase except no candy lol, Sweetwater was professional as always and easy to deal with. If you are looking at one of these I would say go for it. Looks great and plays great.
It's very comfortable to play but unsure about the pickups. Very hard to even distinguish between the neck and bridge pickups- the bridge pick up has no sharpness/brightness which is a bit of a disappointment and there's no sustain whatsoever. I think it has a lot of potential with some tweaking, especially since there are virtually no guitars with a D-Tuna & killswitch at that price point, but I do feel a little bittersweet about the purchase.
This guitar growls without an amp, once plugged into an amp this EVH screams. The pickups have major sustain, the bridge and the neck pickup are very distinguishable. The action, feel it is a perfect rock guitar.
Great guitar, arrived perfectly set up and the neck is perfect. I was really surprised by the quality of this guitar and has become my daily player even amongst custom shop fender and Gibsons. The volume knob and tone knobs are incredible smooth, I think the pots are better than my custom shop gibsons
Came setup, I wont change anything. Needs nothing! The neck is the best neck I have ever experienced, it plays like butter. Difficult runs are easy on this guitar and it is super light but the sound of this is truly amazing! Thunderous lows and sparkling highs at the same time! This is the do it all axe! I am buying another one. It's that good. Just get one! I have a ridiculous amount of highest end guitars from Gibson, Fender, Ibanez and more. I am thinking about selling most of them because I wont play them now.
