Was looking forward to this shoe. The description states 'The upper’s layered leather construction is also met....' but if made more clear shoe is mostly synthetic leather I would not have purchased this. Base of the upper is synthetic leather with leather overlay. Toe box is awful. It looks great out of the box, comfort is great, but the plastic ruins it all. Disappointed. So close to perfect... expensive for synthetic leather shoe.

These shoes are extremely heavy. They out weigh my Japan S by more than a ton. Plus, Asics customer service is the worst in the industry. I bought three top tier running shoes during the promotion period and got the $20 off coupon. I used it on this lame shoe and had to return it. Asics charge a restocking fee and render my coupon useless. Go try on Asics before you buy from their own website. It is a trap. Consider how Brooks and Saucony gives you a month to run in their shoes, Asics should learn something. I am a Podiatrist who is a runner and see many athletes. I will certainly pass this on to my patient pool. Avoid buying Asics.

I bought this a few weeks ago in my usual size of 12. When I got them they were a little slippy in the heel and I thought nothing of it. A couple wears later, they slip and annoy me so much. Its disappointing because the soles are comfy. But the shoes are heavy and definitely not true to a US 12

I brought it recently because of sale. I wore it on Saturday. Walking many hours shopping, it is comfortable and I didn't have blisters from wearing new ones. It is very cute and made my feet look small. I'm very happy with it. I think as in sizing, I think it runs a little small but it could be just sizing chart was confusing.
I've used Asics for years with jogging and gym experiences.This inexpensive issue is Great for tooling around town - shopping - visiting friends - casual dining. I've one particularly important addition to my foot care - all my shoes have auxiliary arch supports and none are better than Asics brand. Well worth the little extra expense.
Have been wearing these shoes for a month now. Love the space for my toes and the orthotics insole. I am 23 but stand all day and my previous work shoes made my feet feel like I was standing on jagged rocks for hours. I also want to note this shoe is actually very cool looking, I personally do not think the ASICS running shoes are “cool” (subjective) but I really enjoy what they are doing with the more casual silhouette and how they are bringing the skate shoes to America.
The EX89 was a surprising find at the price I got using the ASICS website versus a retailer like Foot Locker, etc... The pluses are in the fit with the toe box being slightly wider than most other shoes I have. I have normal width feet, and this fit allows my forefoot to relax more. The feel of the insole and midsole feet like to conformed to my foot like a cork sole might versus a super-cushiony midsole. I like this feel because more feet don't feel fatigued after hours of wear. I also received a few unsolicited compliments with the color scheme of the upper with the orange and black option I purchased. That's a plus.
When my khaki pair arrived, they were clearly worn..the soles had rocks stuck in them,the top of the shoe was creased, and there were stains on the cloth and leather. I spent 50min waiting for someone to connect over the phone,once they finally connected all they could offer was 30% price adjustment for a used pair of shoes or a refund (meaning they’re going to try and sell these again for $120)over text they offered even less, 15%.. just another money hungry company. (Not blaming the employees)
I saw these shoes while browsing the site and thought "wow. these look AWESOME." Owning two pairs of Gel Lyte IIIs I can say these are definitely a change of pace: ---they're heavier and feel larger overall on the foot. That being said, it still feels like you're walking on a cloud while wearing them. Extremely comfortable. And a lot of grip too.
