Excalibur Stainless Steel Ten Tray Food Dehydrator EXC10EL

The Excalibur 10-Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator is a commercial grade SUS-304 stainless steel dehydrator that is perfect for both domestic and commercial applications. If you grow your fruit and vegetables, you’ll understand that sometimes you get a glut. The best way to keep your produce is by drying it, and that is where the Excalibur 10-Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator comes into play. Excalibur has mastered their drying technology as cool air is drawn in the back, heated, and distributed evenly across each tray. During the dehydration process, warm air removes moisture from foods and is pushed out the front of the machine. The horizontal airflow feature in the Excalibur ensures even dehydration and eliminates the need to re-stack trays during the drying process.

I'm always hesitant to spend on appliances, but bit the bullet and bought an excaliber dehydrator. Let me tell you, it's well worth it! So far, I've made several varieties of jerkey- salmon, beef, chicken, and pork. I've also made the best kale chips ever! I love how easy it is to control the temperature and cleaning is really simple. I wish it came with more tray-covering sheets, but not a big deal. I can't wait for gardening season and new ways to store my harvest!

I've owned the dehydrator for about 14 days and it's been in use for 10 of those days.Positives:1. You don't need to rotate the trays ever. All 10 trays dehydrate at even rates.2. The temperature is very accurate. I set it at 110 F and measured for 1 hour. It stayed at 110 F most of the time. It spent 10% of the time fluctuating between 108 F and 113 F.3. The 15 x 15 trays are fully stainless steel and can be used end to end. All space can be used.4. The interior is stainless. The build is sold and the dehydrator seems like it will last years.5. It's easy to use. You can set 2 timers for up to 99 hours. I often set one for 140 F for 2 hours, then 110 F for 6 hours.Negatives:1. The doors really aren't that great. I'm used to the typical dehydrator with a nearly sealed chamber and filtered air outlet, likely near the bottom. The fan blows warm air quickly so I'm not concerned about bugs flying in.I've made raw fruit leathers that were incredible. I've made wraps out of young coconut meat and a little bit of the water that tasted like crepes that could be stuffed with fruit and a cashew cream cheese I made in the machine by dehydrating a fleshly made cashew cream with the juice of 1.5 lemons and a little nutritional yeast. I've made vegetable wraps out of spinach, zucchini, and chia seeds that made delicious sandwich wraps, and incredible bite sized snacks.I can't imagine there is another dehydrator that is in this price range that is built this well.Overall my rating would be a 4.4 so rounded down to 4. If I was in the market for a dehydrator, I'd buy this one again. It would get a 5.0 if the door was better. My fingers are crossed for a door upgrade kit although that may not be realistic for Excalibur.

I bought mine in September. It runs constantly. Either making jerky or drying fruit. I opted for this model because it was all stainless. Some of the internal self tap screws have come out and the face plate for the timer was slapped on sloppily so when I wipe it down, the corner catches the rag and I have to be mindful not to damage the unit. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. But I do live it and use it to make apple chips every week. After dehydration, I bake them in the oven for 90 min at 200 degrees. Then they are crunchy as glass. Great with peanut butter.

I really like this product. It's a great brand. It is affordable and it seemed to have worked for me so I was really happy with the results. I recommend it to all my friends and family. I will repurchase it for sure again. I like it and if you're looking for a good product I recommend it.

I was very impressed with the Excalibur food dehydrator. The two zones let me dehydrate different veggies at the same time using different durations and temperatures. The digital display is easy to understand, the trays are durable, and the machine is easy to clean from top to bottom.

I used to work with this at a restaurant to make the garnishes for desserts and cocktails we served and works great! I used it for years and it always worked great! Easy to set up, to use and to clean, you just wash the trays and wipe if any juice dropped on the bottom. You can make sooo many things in here, fruits, veggies, jerky.. you name it! I love how creative you can get with this!

Best dehydrator in the market
24 July 2019

Have been using this for many months now and it works wonderfully. The fan is behind and so it ensures good airflow inside. The plates do not block the airflow as is common in other dehydrators where fan is mounted on the top or at the bottom. Love the stainless steel design as its easy to clean and looks beautiful. The fan is a bit noisy (as is the case with most dehydrators) so we keep it far away from the bedroom for overnight dehydration use.

Extremely Happy
28 November 2017

I purchased this food dryer after many years of frustration with other cheaper food dryers. I had a very large fruit crop this year and knew I needed something better. I like everything about it, especially that it does such a great job. It is also wonderful to be able to put all the trays in my dishwasher and have them come out clean and ready to go back into the machine. Some may think it is expensive, but the time I have saved and the return on the way. It does the job and is worth it to me. I highly recommend this machine.

Great piece of equipment

This is the first dehydrator I have owned. After many houses of researching the internet and watching countless numbers of YouTube videos, I settled on this dehydrator. I used it this past weekend and successfully dehydrated 10lbs of Fuji apples. A huge success. I will be trying Pineapples this weekend. It's easy to use and does a terrific job. Get one! or Two!

Horrible Doors / Extremely Overpriced
20 November 2022

Like a lot of people have mentioned on the internet, the doors on this dehydrator are horrible. I am extremely surprised that excalibur has not done anything to address this issue, which is a bad sign of the excalibur as a company. For the high price, I would expact doors that functioned well. You can find other brand dehydrators for $300 that are better built.
