This clamp lamp is ideal for my turtles basking area. It has a good sturdy clamp which is suitable to clip to a variety of tank sizes and is very easy to get to the desired angle. It also contains a clip to suspend from a separately purchased lamp stand which I have not used. The glow gives a short period of fluorescence but isn't necessary for a turtle. I have purchased a larger version to use for UV lighting to give a wider coverage, but this size is ideal for basking. Exo terra are always a good, trusty brand.

This lamp works well but it didn't arrive with an appropriate bulb, and it doesn't dim. Neither of these were mentioned in the description of the lamp.

I have used these for the last 4 years. I change it every year to year and a half. Never had one blow on me yet and I no longer have regular blown bulbs either since changing from using the Exo terra bulbs with it. Zoo med and Arcadia bulbs are a must. (Arcadia I find are the most reliable)I use a 75w infrared bulb with a habitat dimming thermostat, the glow dome is attached to the Exo terra light bracket that sticks to the side of the terrarium taking any strain off the wire of the dome itself.Ever since using them this way there are no issues. I get on average 6 months life from my infrared bulbs which is on for 12hours daily during winter and 10 and a half during summer.Very cheap way to provide the heat my reptile needs.

I got this small glow light for an African fat tail. I haven’t set up the terrarium but I let the light run with the recommended Arcadia 50w bulb in the care guide. The hot spot in an empty tank reached about 85-87 degrees. The glow in the dark coating really works as advertised but it doesn’t last too long. If the company that produces it could make the glow last longer it would be awesome but some is better than none. I can’t wait to use it.
I have a few of these lights for different vivariums and I wouldn't buy anything else. Quick and easy to fit, either sit directly on top of the vivarium or use an Exo terra bracket to hang it above the vivarium. I have some hanging and some sitting directly on the screen top ,either way works for me. Just be careful if you are using a bulb that gets warm if you are sitting it directly on the top the mesh top. I have read that the heat can melt the plastic on the screen cover of the vivarium. I only use mine for UVB so don't have this problem but it is something to keep in mind.
The fixture does exactly what it's base function is with no problems. The problem I had is what was suppose to make this item special. The glow was gone within 5 min after turning the bulb off, after it was on for most of the day.
Own 3 of these they are well made and seem to last i have had 2 for over 7 years, so can be bad. The only bit of bull shit with this item is there claim of "Night Light" is a load of toss. Even the highest uvb bulbs dont give you more that a few seconds of reflected light. No use to no-one.Saying this appart from the bull shit its quality for the cash.
Works perfectly with a deep heat projector. Didn’t realise it was a glow in the dark version, which obviously doesn’t happen as dhp has no visible light but would be interesting with a different type of bulb

I have had about seven in the last two years as the bulb keeps blowing and contrary to what the other review here says, it is not plugged into any timer and never has been, it is plugged straight into the wall . When you then replace the bulb it doesn't work. Clearly there is a manufacturing issue with this product. There used to be a lot of poor reviews on this product but they have been removed. DO NOT BUY IT.I went to Pets At Home to have it replaced again yesterday, got it home and it worked for an hour, the bulb blew again and once again it now no longer works.
