This came with a rather expensive tank I bought for my tortoise, so I just left it because it looked nice. Tortoises like to burrow, so over time she just dug her way through it at the bottom, resulting in the sound of rubbing styrofoam that was truly awful. I won't complain about something that basically came for free, but I just hope it didn't result in her eating any of it... wouldn't recommend going out of your way to buy this because it looks 'pretty'. Your animal doesn't care.

Item works as it should, a Reptile Terrarium Background, I agree the material is simple Styrofoam but it makes working with this item real easy. Its not a slap in and go item, depending on use it may need cut and you may need more than 1 so measure your job and order accordingly. The size is off from description, its actually a lil smaller than 18 x 24 its more like 17 x 22. when mounting you have to glue or use caulking and any seams will need caulked and I use moss to fill un evenness. Bottom line is unless u can make ur self its not a bad product, I like and will continue to use. I use this companies background products in every reptile enclosure I own and am HAPPY. Try it you may like it..

Our Beardie is a climber. She has detroyed other backgrounds. So far so good with these. Natural looking, snug fit, easy to place.

I won't complain about something that basically came for free, but I just hope it didn't result in her eating any of it... wouldn't recommend going out of your way to buy this because it looks 'pretty'. This is easy to install, hides wires and my beardie climbs it! I cut out the vent holes on three vents and you don't really notice. Looks great!
I had been struggling with insulating my terrarium and i had just taped polysteryne around it, which wasn't very attractive. I decided that i would just buy these and put them in. They insultate amazingly and keep humidity in. My gecko loves them and 'nestles' up to them. He was deifntely happy! I did have to cut them down a bit to fit but surprisignly they were relatively easy to do so (not a huge mess) and they are really sturdy.
I bought this for a background for a reptibreeze enclosure. Had to trim some off for it to fit due to the tray inside the enclosure. Definitely looks better and has made the reptibreeze a bit more sturdy.I use these backgrounds in exo Terra terrariums too, they’re great
I love the look of this however because of the small bits that come off it was damaged in the post but some of the middle falling out! I'm not really bothered to much about that.I have been advise due to the small bits that fall off it not to use it in my Viv as it can cause impaction if ingested.However I shall get some aquarium sealer to place over the top to prevent this from happening.Over all I'm happy with the look but it is quite hard and messy to cut and it can cause bugs to escape under it so make sure you are accurate when cutting!
its not the worst but it basicly looks like polystyrene, with a little gold paint, for the price you could make your own, but for people who isnt good at craft it would do as with plants you hardly see the back round, my snake always goes behind it so its easy enough to take it off to get my snake out.
