2 week trip to Italy

After having the originals for backpacking I decided to try these lighter ones for travel. The thinner fabric with flatter seams and better waistband are nearly perfect. I used these for 2 weeks walking all over Italy. I have skinny legs which is probably why the leg portion rode up a bit under my shorts as the days went by walking. I think they lose a slight amount of stretch back after wearing a while. But that is due to thin fabric I think. Still they were 100 times better than cotton for so much walking, and I had zero chafing, which is a problem for me in hot walking all day conditions. Also, these kept me much dryer. I would buy again as they are the best I have found so far.

I have spent a lifetime (40s) looking for the 'right' pair of boxers. I have tried many different brands over this time (cheap and costly, silly fashionable one like Calvin Klein to sport geared stuff from Under Armor) and have never found one that met all my needs. Waistbands are always uncomfortable (I'm not doughy, waistbands are not kind to me), some fabrics are to thick and non-breathable; some do not hold up to wear and tear of my highly active job and fitness profile. None pair was ever that 'glass slipper' for me. But I'm tenacious and ever on the hunt for comfort...then...BAM...enter Exoffcio. Finding this particular pair of boxers is now a high point in my life...I cannot believe such a creation exists. The waistband is the single best waistband I have ever found on men's underwear. Solid enough to keep things in place, even against the most physical activity (hiking, running are mine), but still loose and non-pinch -these things are the most flattering pair of undies I have ever worn for my love handles. The length is appropriate and mid thigh, dueling seams on the rear prevent a wedgie under any condition, and the fly.....WOW. The caressing pouch is supportive enough for running/sports, but rather non compressive on anything - it's an oddly refreshing situation there as I've grown so used to things being somewhat tight/squished with a number of brands lacking a discrete 'pouch'. My junk is rather average, but my jaw dropped, my wife's jaw also very literally dropped at how complementary this pouch is. Plus there is a fly - I see this missing in men's underwear with surprising frequency nowadays...I did not realize how much I have missed this simple feature. I find the fabric to be light, barely noticeable and extremely breathable. These things stay dry. But, the material is very durable when cared for as directed. I treat these things like the most delicate family heirloom - even the Mrs. knows to make sure these things do not get abused when washing/drying and they have served me incredibly well. And cost - seriously worth every cent compared to other on the market. Thank you Exofficio!! You have exceeded my crazy high and unrealistic expectations and have earned a loyal customer. I cannot express my appreciation enough, these undies are life-changing.

For years I wore some amazingly good underwear, then they ceased making them. Time to search for a replacement. I looked on line, ordered 1 each of those that looked promising for a real world comparison. This is the winner. One other brand made from bamboo had a slightly softer hand, but they had a slight tendency to ride up. After a few washings it also became clear the Ex Officio boxers were holding up better. Waistband is comfortable, they stay put, wick extremely well and have a smooth itch free feel. My only wish is that the legs were an inch longer, but not ultimately a problem or a big deal. Recommended for comfort, fit, wicking performance and durability.

Have to say I really love it
10 November 2022

It's nice that someone understands how to make men's underwear with a waistband that's not rolling down constantly. Finally. That in and of itself is a major plus. But overall, I really love it. In fact so much I got my first pair in and just washed it every day till the second order came in. It stretches, it breathes, it dries really fast. I can sweat in the gym and then by the time I get in the truck and am home... it's already dry. The legs don't ride up - although I prefer the 3" version so I just ordered that, but the 5 inch version is great for wearing pants. They stay put, just the right stretch but also just the right hold... definitely a fan, and I'm SUPER picky about clothing. Much more comfortable than earlier versions
23 November 2022

I first got hooked on Give-N-Go's in 2015ish, and pairs I bought then were used for years until they were falling apart. Travel, hiking, day-to-day, they were all I used. I've been ordering new ones as needed in 2021 and 2022, so this review is after wearing these on hiking trips & every day for over a year. The great: I'm surprised buy how much more comfortable the newer fabric is; whatever ExOfficio did in the past few years feels in the right direction. It's less abrasive on skin and also seems to have a better stretch/fit.The questionable: There's a possibility (not yet confirmed) that the finer fabric reduced durability. I've had some of the thin threads snap when I accidentally stretched pairs a bit too wide, but those breaks (some happened a year ago) don't seem to have affected anything yet. The fabric simply feels flimsier, but seeing as I got 5+ years out of my last pairs, I'd still be happy if I get even 3-4 out of these.I'm mixing some merino wool boxer briefs into the mix specifically for backpacking trips as the Give-N-Go material does start to smell bad after days on the trail, but otherwise these are what I currently wear every day and will continue to wear every day.

Paying for the name&durability

Being into biking, motorcycling, hiking, etc. I look for the most comfortable, breathable, long lasting, and best fitting boxer briefs I can find. I held off for a long time to buy these because of the cost. I purchased 4 boxer briefs. Honestly, they are made nice. I think they are very overpriced at $30 each. I honestly think these should sell for around $15 each after now owning them. They are pretty comfortable. I'd give them a 7 out of 10 for comfort of materials, a 7 out of 10 for fit, and a 9 out of 10 for quality of the material since it seems like the fabric will be very durable which I think they sacrificed a little bit of the comfort (feel) of the material for longevity. Perfect for travel or everyday

These are among the most comfortable underwear I've ever tried. I normally do not like boxer briefs, preferring traditional boxers for comfort. My experience with boxer briefs in the past is that they are too tight and therefore uncomfortable. However, I'm going on a two week trip before the end of the year and needed some easily packable and washable underwear to take along. Cotton boxers just don't fit the bill for that. They take up too much room in your pack and dry very slowly when handwashed. After trying these I may end up wearing them all the time not just when traveling. I'm a 34 waist but ordered a large and that ended up being perfect. They're not too tight yet are supportive and comfortable. After a while I forget they're there. All in all, I'm very happy with these and will probably order a couple more pair before my trip.

Poor Quality
24 February 2023

I have been using ExOfficio underwear since 2004 when I first got into backpacking. I have enough pairs now that I can wear them almost daily. My most recent purchase from Exofficio included three pairs of boxer briefs. Two of the pairs elastic is starting to shred from the back. I machine wash and hang dry these underwear. I am a 32 waist and bought a size medium, so I don’t think it’s my waist that is the issue.I have contacted the warranty department but they are very slow to respond. Something seems to be different about the quality this time. Usually, the elastic wears out on these underwear after a few years. This is extreme and I’m very dissatisfied with the customer service. Duluth, Lulu Lemon or other high end brands might be better options at this point.

Sadly, Not the Best Anymore
19 September 2023

I started wearing Exofficio Give-and-Go briefs in 2008, and, despite the high cost, I was blown away by the comfort and quality and eventually converted all my underwear to Exofficio boxers. Many of those original boxers from 2008 lasted a decade or more. These 2.0 boxers are no where near the same quality as the originals and the waist feels looser than the originals as well. I just got a new pair and they were damaged right way in the first wash (I don’t ever put them in the dryer). I do like how soft the 2.0 briefs are, but I would take the original model over these newer briefs any day. One plus is the warranty is very good, but I miss the good old days when the quality was so good I never had to do a warranty claim. The picture is of my new pair that I have not ... MoreI started wearing Exofficio Give-and-Go briefs in 2008, and, despite the high cost, I was blown away by the comfort and quality and eventually converted all my underwear to Exofficio boxers.
