Variable Temperature Control by turning the knob, you select your desired temperature ranging from 135 F to 212 F. LCD Screen, a discreet, black LCD screen indicates the desired "Set Temperature" and the "Real Time Temperature" with an illuminating element to show the heating progress. Hold Option, when the toggle on the back is switched to HOLD mode, the Stagg EKG will maintain your desired temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius for 60 minutes. When the toggle is not in HOLD mode, the kettle will go to sleep after reaching the set temperature. Brew Stopwatch, after your water has heated, use EKG's built in Brew Stopwatch to time your extraction. In addition, the Stagg EKG has a precision pour spout and counterbalanced-handle just like this original stovetop kettle but with amall, minimalist base and a Celsius/Fahrenheit option.

Amazing Kettle

I searched around for a good gooseneck kettle to find one that is true to its temperature gauge and found lots of folks saying the Stagg was the best. So far I think this has played out perfectly for me. I just have three small things I notice when I use the kettle. One: the max-fill line is on the handle side of the kettle, so while you're filling it at the faucet, unless you hold it uncomfortably, you can't see the line. Over time this is less important because I've figured where the line is and just estimate and check before I put it on the base to heat, but it was something I noticed initially that seemed like a less-than-ideal design choice. And two: the nearness of the temperature knob to the kettle. This is being totally knit picky, but if you're not careful ... MoreI searched around for a good gooseneck kettle to find one that is true to its temperature gauge and found lots of folks saying the Stagg was the best. Obviously there are strategies to avoid this, so it's not the worst thing ever.Three: the lid is totally flat and it will collect moisture after being used. So if you go to set it down on the counter while you fill up the kettle, it will stick. These are all really small things, none of which are deal breakers. It is an amazing kettle and I'm glad I purchased it.

Edit: since my review, I have actually decided to remove a star for another issue that I am having. The button to turn on the kettle is not very sensitive and sometimes takes 4-5 presses before the kettle turns on. Between this and the loading screen, it takes a lot longer to turn on than an average kettle that only requires a flick of a button. This combines with my previous cretique to get a 4/5: It reboils when you put it back on the base (and there is no option for this not to happen). I often use the entire kettle's worth for a pourover, and then instinctively put it back on the base, where it could start boiling empty if I'm not careful to turn it off each time.Original review:There are lot of electric pourover kettles out there that are similarily priced ... MoreEdit: since my review, I have actually decided to remove a star for another issue that I am having. Coffee fanatics just know the shape from a mile away. And for good reason, there's really nothing wrong with the kettle except being a little expensive. I bought this after having the stove top version for a couple years, and it boils very fast. I love the version I got with a walnut handle and the Easter egg is awesome though I won't spoil it... I have 2 little gripes that don't make or break the kettle, but it would be nice if they were fixed. Number 1, the rubber feet aren't balanced and it rocks pretty badly. One of these days, I'll modify it, and I'm fine with doing that. The second, is that after you pour and go to replace the kettle in the base, it starts boiling again... And it's usually empty after the pour too. I wish it behaved differently, but once you get used to it,byou just put the kettle to the side instead, or turn off the base. For these reasons, it's actually a 4.5 star for me, but I've rounded up to 5.

We've had a few different electric kettles over the years and either the electronics failed, they were noisy and slow, or weren't really designed for use in making pour over coffee which is our primary use. I had been eyeing the Stagg EKG kettle for awhile but was hesitant as it's certainly more costly than the average kettle. Randomly we received a coupon from Fellow which finally induced me to make the purchase. I don't regret. To begin with it's a beautiful kettle and looks great sitting on the counter. Functionally it's also been fantastic. The controls are simple to use. The shape of the spout for pour overs is perfect, it heats the water quickly and quietly and the feature to maintain the water temperature actually works. Ergonomic, Practical, Beautiful Gooseneck Kettle

I upgraded from the stovetop Stagg (which I already loved) and am incredibly happy and impressed with the EKG. Being able to dial in the exact temperature is fantastic for coffee geeks like myself. I was honestly shocked at how fast the EKG heats up as well.Being a Fellow product, it's a given that this is both a stunning and ergonomic piece of equipment to have on your countertop. I went with the stone blue and maple color. It's truly gorgeous. The ergonomics are basically flawless. The other is that, on my kettle at least, the maple handle and knob are not close matches at all. The handle is a striking bright solid white maple and the lid knob is a very cool looking darker maple with much more prominent grain so the two wood pieces look slightly mismatched. Personally, this isn't something that bothers me at all though as I suppose that's to be expected with, and part of the charm, of a natural material like wood.Having said that, neither of these issues impact how much I love this kettle. Fantastic piece of coffee-making equipment!

Well, it's beautiful to look at, I will give you that. Water dribbles out of the holes in the lid and leaves a white mineral residue. The max line should go all the way around the inside. I can never see it without rotating the kettle to an ugly position, which I then have to reverse once the filling is accomplished. That sounds absurd, but the kettle was $$$ so I was expecting near perfection. If you don't mind the fill line, boiling water will erupt from the steam holes and I don't recommend testing that. There is very little wiggle room with the max fill line. The wooden handle is gorgeous and you should definitely get it. I don't understand why that couldn't be made from wood, but ok. This kettle is a bit pricey and the design is lovely. It has flaws, and if the price is a stretch for you, just emotionally prepare yourself for some irritation. Hopefully, it will be tempered by the warm feeling you get from admiring its beauty.

Great kettle, would recommend for brewing with Flair Pro 2
23 July 2022

Works perfect for making espresso with the Flair Pro 2. I use a silicone funnel placed on top of the kettle to stack the brew chamber and portafilter for preheating. The kettle looks great and holds the temperature right on the set point. Heats up quickly and is pretty quiet. I do wish the max fill line was indicated on the sides of the kettle instead vs at the back where the handle is, as I'm typically looking at the kettle from the side when I'm filling it, but not really a negative thing just have to get used to turning it a bit when I want to fill closer to the max. Works great for pour over brewing, nice and balanced in the hand, easy to adjust flow and direct the water where I want. I had to get used to placing my thumb carefully at the top of the handle. If you're not careful with your thumb you can touch the metal ring near the top of the handle and it can be hot, but it's easy enough to learn how to grip the handle. I wish there was a place to hook the lid when removed, as I don't want to put its bottom down on the counter when it has condensation on it. The counter could be dirty and it might pick up crumbs/sugar/etc that could fall back inside the kettle when replaced. But, flipping to over to set it down is also tricky especially when it is hot. I would certainly recommend this product to a friend.

Full disclosure...I'm more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker, especially when it comes to home preparation. I'd been wanting to purchase an electric kettle for a while, but am very particular and was having a hard time finding one that I liked aesthetically and had all the features I wanted. I had eliminated the Stagg because I didn't care for any of the colors, so I'm glad they released the Sweet Cream color because this kettle has all the features I wanted! The kettle and base are very pleasing to look at! It also feels thoughtfully designed and is a pleasure to use, although I find it slightly heavy with water.Feature wise, it checks all the boxes for me. Personally, I find the size to be perfect! No one is drinking more than a cup or tea at a time. I like not having to boil way more water than I'm going to reasonably use in time. The automatic hold feature is very nice although I haven't gotten much use out of it yet. The variable temp was crucial for use with tea, and I appreciate that I'm not limited to presets. It also has a memory function, which is nice, but it's also super quick and easy to set the temp. I like the stopwatch feature in theory, but I wish it had a timer option instead/in addition. It would also be nice if it could chirp or something when it reached temperature. I find the water heats up super quickly, as well - within a few minutes.Overall, it's a huge improvement in form factor, precision, and efficiency from my stovetop kettle and thermometer setup. I would say I wish I had purchased sooner but I'm really obsessed with the color so I'm glad I waited! Can definitely see myself purchasing another for the office this fall/winter.

Pretty and functional

A little pricey but quite nice (both in aesthetics and functionality) and is working well so far.Liking the wooden handle, though I did need to tighten its screw after only a couple uses (luckily I had a 3.0 mm hex bit on hand). The temperature control is great, I especially like that it keeps the temperature for a few minutes even when the "hold temperature" feature is turned off (holding for an hour seems excessive, but a few minutes is perfect for me). Would prefer if it turned off automatically when the carafe is removed from its base -- after setting it back down, it will try to bring it to temperature again, but I often empty the pot entirely. I'll have to get used to turning it off manually as I don't want to rely on it eventually detecting that it's ... MoreA little pricey but quite nice (both in aesthetics and functionality) and is working well so far.Liking the wooden handle, though I did need to tighten its screw after only a couple uses (luckily I had a 3.0 mm hex bit on hand). The temperature control is great, I especially like that it keeps the temperature for a few minutes even when the "hold temperature" feature is turned off (holding for an hour seems excessive, but a few minutes is perfect for me). I do like that it remembers the temperature setting between uses.Since it's only 1200 watts it's not the fastest kettle, but its smaller volume makes up for it. I tend to boil just over a mug's worth at a time. The interior is all high-quality stainless (except for a small silicone seal around the temperature probe), no plastic. The cover is stainless steel as well, and is fully removable instead of hinged, which is so much easier to work with.Would have appreciated a limescale filter, but I guess this will force me to descale more regularly :-)The plug is "upside-down" for me (the typical orientation of wall sockets varies regionally), which combined with the very short cord makes a very awkward loop in the air on my counter.

Stagg EKG Pro - beautiful, but expensive
9 January 2023

The Stagg EKG Pro kettle works really well for its intended use as a temperature controlled pour over kettle. It is expensive though, and not "necessary" for pour over, as there are other less expensive temperature controlled pour over/gooseneck kettles on the market. That said, it is aesthetically pleasing and you are definitely paying for that. On the aesthetics, one thing that oddly struck me was the inside of the kettle - when you first open the lid, the internal base is a mirrored stainless steel and you can perfectly see your reflection (it is oddly beautiful, even though no one else will see that). The slow and controlled pour from the spout is great for pour overs and allows you to really control where and how much water you pour. The only "caution" would be, if you intend to use this kettle for other generic kettle features (i.e. boiling water for non-pour over uses), the slow pour is annoyingly slow. Again, great for its intended use as a pour over kettle, but I wouldn't want it to be my only kettle. The Fellow app that works with the kettle is a little disappointing. I'm still not sure what the purpose of the app is - it will allow for future updates for the kettle, and connects the kettle to wifi, but doesn't do anything else. It would be nice if the app could also control the kettle, like turning it on, setting the temperature, etc. Though I don't think a kettle needs to have wifi and wireless control features, since there is an app and it is wifi enabled, it is odd that they don't have these features built in. Perhaps in a future update...I'd say that this kettle is a piece to add to a brew bar for aesthetic purposes. If you've already invested considerably in all of your other brew gear, this is a nice add on, though an expensive one. It might also be worth considering purchasing the original Stag EKG (not pro) to save some money if you don't need the additional features of altitude setting, schedule, etc. that come with the pro model - although I'm not sure what future updates/features may come in the future with wifi updates (what can you really "update" on a kettle?).My last comment, and this is more about the electrical wiring in my house than the kettle, is that it causes my lights to flicker as it comes up to temperature. It seems that some of my lights are on the same circuit as the outlet to which my kettle is plugged in, and as the kettle regulates its temperature to stay at a precise temperature, my lights start to flicker. Apparently this may be common if you have your wiring on the same circuit - it is not an issue with the kettle.

The ultimate end game for kettles.

I bought the Pro Studio black/walnut version. Holy smokes is it incredible. It is one of those products that hurts a little at the point of purchase, but the pain is almost immediately forgotten the first time it is used.Let’s get this out of the way - the pour/flow rate is sloooooow. Whatever. It’s a good match for my Varia VS3, which is also on the slow side. I have learned with both to enjoy the process, instead of turning it into a rat race each morning. And as mentioned in other reviews here, the control over the flow is nothing short of impeccable.I look forward to using that kettle every single morning (that I don’t go down the espresso road with my Dual Boiler). The Pro Studio is as elegant as it is beautiful.I was a little concerned because I had ... MoreI bought the Pro Studio black/walnut version. The Pro Studio is as elegant as it is beautiful.I was a little concerned because I had seen a negative review online. So glad I blew it off and took the plunge. The features are set out in the description. I use and enjoy them all. The altitude adjustment is especially useful. I never knew why on all my prior temperature controlled kettles, they kept boiling for a long time, instead of shutting off and holding the temperature upon reaching a boil. The guide mode is also very useful. I also very much enjoy that feature as well.If you want to cut to the end game without wasting a bunch of money on lesser kettles along the way, throw down on this one. You won’t regret it. Who knew that boiling and pouring water could be such a fun, elegant thing each morning. This could very well be your last kettle (I hope mine lasts forever).
