Very easy to use and saves a lot of time by automatic feeding of paper. Highly recommended if you need lot of shredding done without wasting time manually feeding the paper.

This shredder has a large-capacity bin so it's useful not to have to empty it too often. The downside is the bin is made of rigid cardboard, rather than plastic, the corners of which are already getting scuffed and we've used masking tape to protect them.When the shredder doesn't jam it is great, however the waste paper needs to be very neat and of the same size in order for it to shred without jamming. E.g. it doesn't like A5 and A4 paper being mixed up in one pile.Very pleased with the size of the shredded pieces i.e. small.

It is quite slow, but more importantly, it does not a;ways pick up the papers in the tray to shred. The papers have to be adjusted all the time before it would catch them for shredding. So although it is meant to be automatic feed, it is not really.

Very good shredder, nice and quiet but is quite picky when it comes to the size and thickness off the paper. Its seems to stop shredding if the paper is slightly in the wrong place or it is thin paper so it can't quite grab it. Other then that a nice shredder.

This product does exactly what it says it does. It is extremely quiet and copes easily with 500 A4 sheets in just a couple of minutes. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

A good shredder if all you need to deal with is A4 paper.Torn pages or A3 torn in half won’t go therough the auto feed and have to go through the cd slot.The extent of the shredding is good but for the list price I expected better.

Perfect for what we needed in school following the new GDPR regulations.We always have lots of old paperwork to shred at the end of the summer term which used to take me weeks to shred and get rid of but with this it took me just under 2 days.The autofeed is great, just so long as nothing is stapled as this can cause it to jam and the paper is stacked carefully.All in all we are very very happy and would recommend this to any busy office/school environment.

DO NOT BUY!

I purchased this product through Office Max/Depot. It was very expensive! I tried it and it takes an hour to shred 500 pages. Meanwhile every page must be in line as if it were a perfect ream of paper or it doesl not work! Be advised this is not a returnable product - as they claim!

First Day Review

We've only been using the AutoMax 550C for a few hours now, here at our small office of eleven staff members. Our associates are loving the autofeed feature ... where you set a stack of paper inside the drawer, it shreds, while you walk away! It's also a great compact size, for what it does, compared to our old, C80-C model that was huge and took up a lot of space and got to be pretty loud! So our first impression of this nifty shredder is a total thumbs up!

Sleek Shredder

This is a great shredder. It is sleek in design and quiet while shredding. I can put a stack of papers to be shredded and push the start button and leave. If I only have a few sheets, I can feed them through the top slot without opening the lid. It is very safe and will stop immediately if you raise the lid. I highly recommend!
