I purchased the fender A- B switch so I can have two guitars connected without needing to unplug and plug in guitars. I do a solo acoustic act and have two guitars with different tunings and the footswitch allows me to have both guitars plugged in at the same time. When I change guitars I just step on the switch and I'm ready. the pedal can be powered by a 9 Volt or AC current, but the power only powers the lED lights so you can see which input or output that is active. It could also be used to feed two amps. It seems to work well.

I really wanted an ABY switch so I could switch between and use my 2 amps together to help shape the tone. I did a lot of research, and even though a lot of reviewers suggested getting an isolated ABY switch, I didn't want to spend that much money on something I wasn't really sure would really work out for what I wanted to do. The box is well built and looks great ! But, once I had my 2 amps plugged in, I got the dreaded ground loop noise. I read some people returned the ABY switch for this reason, but I decided to by a 3 to 2 prong adapter for one of the amps to remove the ground loop. It worked like a charm ! Now I am getting a wider variety of tones by switching between amps, and playing them together. The footprint is a bit larger than one would want, but it comes with the ‘both switch’ so i guess thats the tradeoff.Built sturdy enoughRubber feet weren’t glued on very well (not that this is a problem as it went straight on my board)The switches need a bit of welly but overall aren’t badI had a few problems with it initially but it seems to be working fine now

Does what it says on the tin! I am using it to switch channels on a boutique two channel amp similar to Vox but with no channel switch facility. It enables me to switch channels and also switch to run both channels together (sweet). After I bought it I read some reviews where folk had buzz issues using two amps with the footswitch but in my application I have no problems at all. Well worth the money to add more functionality to my amp.
The service I received regarding the purchase and subsequent return and refund for this - unfortunately - faulty pedal was absolutely first class.Just a pity Fender’s QC leaves something to be desired. No problem, whatever, using PMT again.
This is replacing a japanese made unit I used for a long time. The switch went bad on that one, so I started looking for a replacement and I found it this unit.I am very pleased. The price is fair, the quality very good (compared to cheap plastic I had),the added possibility of switching both channels on at the same time adds another option.Lastly, in todays world of having regulated transformers with a multitude of hook ups as a power supply for all your effects on the board, this one can be hooked up too!Not having to worry about another battery going bad adds piece of mind ??
Not the most exciting type of pedal UNTIL you get into various pedal routings. Making good use of it alongside a Gamechanger Audio Plus Pedal & a separate delay line.
Bought this AB/Y pedal to allow me to use both my guitar amps.....Fender 68 Custom Princeton Reverb and Blues Jr. NOS (Tweed). I waffled back and forth between Morley, the Fender, and a more expensive one with lift, ground, etc. switches. I figured for the price (it was on sale after Thanksgiving) it would be noisy, hum, etc. but it's dead quiet and works EXACTLY as advertised.Years ago, I'd use my two Black face Fender Deluxe Reverbs by going out of the #2 input on the 1st amp and then go to the second Deluxe Reverb input #1, but you always had both amps on and the second one had to be set at a higher volume due to the #2 output being attenuated. This AB/Y pedal allows switching from one amp to the other, or having both on. Get one if you've got two amps and want to use both!!
On one 2-amp setup I have that is fairly simple it works fine with no unwanted noise. So I bought another Fender ABY for setup number two which is more complex with additional pedals and different amps which include my vintage Kustom 100 and a new Roland GX80. I got a hum/buzz right away. I located my ancient EBTech Hum Eliminator and problem solved. If you haven't bought this Fender ABY yet you might consider the Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher. Before I thought of my EBTech Hum Eliminator, I almost pulled the trigger on that one because it apparently solves grounding issues. If I ever need another ABY, that's probably what I would buy.
besides its amazing red, it is the only ABY switch that works with battery and ac power adapter, also has the AorB and AandB switches, most of the other ABY switch are not completely foot accessible, the small ABY switch provides only 1 function at a time, and you have to change the mode switch by your finger, but with the fender you have AorB and AandB by foot switches, no any change in the sound.Note: the volume will be decreased when you activate the 2 o/p at the same time, so the signal volume is splitting between the 2 outputs, which is normal as there is no any opamp inside.totally recommended
