My Fender cc60s bought new in November 2018 arrived with me in perfect condition. This is the left handed version and is only available in natural, high-gloss finish. The set-up out of the box is good, with neck relief correctly set and the nut slots perfectly cut so that the string height at the first fret is correct. The action at the 12th fret measures 3/32" for the 6th string and 2/32" for the 1st. I prefer it a little lower but this is standard "medium" action. The build quality is very good and I can't find any faults. There was a clear plastic sticker over the sound hole that was difficult to remove and it was hard to clean off the residue from this. The strings fitted are Fender brass wound and I will replace with phosphor bronze soon. The solid spruce top ... MoreMy Fender cc60s bought new in November 2018 arrived with me in perfect condition. The strings fitted are Fender brass wound and I will replace with phosphor bronze soon. The solid spruce top is good for this price point and gives a clear, bright sound, while the body is large enough to give plenty of resonance, even at the lower end. The body measures 18 5/8" long. The lower bout is 14 5/8" wide and the upper one 11" wide. The depth is 4 3/8" at the bridge end and 3 5/8" at the neck. All sizes approx. This is about what one expects for a "concert" size guitar, making it easier to manage than the larger dreadnought size. The much-vaunted "easy to play" neck is a "c" shape and quite comfortable but I don't like it having a gloss finish. The fingerboard is walnut and the frets are quite thin and not very tall. The fret ends are well finished. Looking at other offerings at this sort of price, I think that the Fender is good value for money, as many others have a laminate top. I wish that there was a matte finish or "open pore" version available for left hand.

I like this guitar very much. It sounds beautiful, it looks beautiful and it plays well. The action on the guitar was a bit too high(0.012" on the 1st E string above the 12th fret). I had to adjust a truss rod a little anyway(instructions are provided with a tool included). It lowered the action a little(to 0.010"). Still not enough, so I will have to remove some saddle with sanding paper-a simple task, down to 0.007"-0.008". Eventually I want to replace a saddle, nut and pins with a natural bone and a new set of phosphor bronze strings, which will notably improve the sound...I can barely wait. A cost of these parts is affordable and well worth it for this beautiful guitar. For somebody who is new to these tasks, there are videos on You Tube that show you how to do all that correctly and it's a fun challenge. TWO TIPS: 1) There is a plastic film cover over the sound hole. It will leave some adhesive around the sound hole, when you remove it. Don't get frustrated by it. It gets easily removed by using Naphtha-a safe dissolver used by professionals, that won't damage guitar's finish, if used correctly-sparingly on a piece of cloth. 2) A pickguard is covered with a transparent film. Don't bother removing the red sticker, just remove the whole film along with it. Hope it helps...best wishes.

I bought this guitar becuase I thought it might give me some inspiration to get to playing again. And, it is a nice guitar but I find I like my 40 year old Montaya better. The action on the Fender is a little high and it doesn't have the resonance of my Montaya (not as deep and full). Part of this can be the depth of the box and the newness of the strings. I'll continue to play it and hopefully come to enjoy it as much. But, out of the box with a couple hours in, I really expected something a little better from Fender. 3.5 stars, actually. At least the price was good.

I've been playing this guitar and taking weekly lessons for a little over 6 months now. This guitar has held up just fine being toted around, played regularly, and overall being used in my daily life. This instrument is my first, and with minor set up I've been able to love it beyond the price I've paid for it. I've already bought an electric and a classical guitar (As well as a banjo) and I can say that without the simple blank slate that is the Fender cc-60s, I would not have such a new love for music in such a short amount of time. I had of course some fret buzzing, but I was able to spot and clean up the frets with some help from my tutor. But overall I have no complaints, the tuners hold tune, the guitar sounds great, and I would recommend this guitar to anyone ... MoreI've been playing this guitar and taking weekly lessons for a little over 6 months now. I had of course some fret buzzing, but I was able to spot and clean up the frets with some help from my tutor. But overall I have no complaints, the tuners hold tune, the guitar sounds great, and I would recommend this guitar to anyone interested in learning how to play. I could not live without it, and I don't know how I have for so long. What a wonderful guitar, give it a shot.
I'm a total beginner on guitar and I'm loving the Fender CC-60S concert acoustic guitar! I like that the concert style guitar is smaller than the dreadnaught style, making it more comfortable to play. The guitar is nicely set up and easy to tune and seems to stay in tune pretty well. It's also a very nice looking guitar, the natural wood finish is attractive. I would definitely recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a great value in a guitar!
I had been looking to get back into the guitar after a long hiatus. I didn't want to jump in the deep end with something expensive at the start, but still wanted something decent to play with, after some research decided upon the CC-60S. The guitar does exactly what all the reviews say it does for beginner learning. It feels comfortable, sounds great and isn't as tough when navigating the frets with chords and notes.PMT delivered the CC quickly, was securely packaged and I've found no defects. Would recommend anyone thinking of learning the guitar to purchase this from PMT.
This guitar package is an incredible value for the price! The quality of the guitar is as good as other guitars I have played that cost several hundred dollars more. I often find myself wanting to play this guitar over my Martin because I love how it sounds so much. Most reviewers have recommended this guitar for beginners, but I would honestly recommend it for almost anyone.
I have not picked up a guitar for well over 20 years so the big decision to buy a new one, was huge. I opted for an acoustic, and knowing Fender is a well respected make I opted for the CC-60S concert. I find the action is very good and the neck is exactly the size I needed. This is a quality guitar but at an affordable price. I would recommend this guitar to anyone starting out or just wanting to have an acoustic on hand for practice. I look forward every day to my practice session.
This guitar has the body constructed of solid spruce top and mahogany back, sides and neck along with rosewood fingerboard. The bracing pattern of the body top is scalloped X which help produce its full sound. The overall length 39.5 inches and the tapered body approx. 3.5 inches to 4 inches adds to the comfort of playing this instrument. The slim neck design good for playing all fret positions. An excellent beginner instrument and also good for intermediate and light professional playing and performances. Add a sound hole pickup for amplified sound for performances.
I wasn't sure what the case would look like. There were no pictures or descriptions. The case looked like it was $150+. It had that extra clasp on the bottom , which will help keeping it from falling apart for years. There are metal feet at different points where you would lean it, or set it down. The main clasp has a lock on it.The guitar itself was beautiful, especially the wood grain on the headstock. All of the descriptions I've read said the bridge and fingerboard are walnut, when they are actually rosewood. I see how they can confuse this with the CD 60S. I am very happy with this purchase.
