They should be a higher quality for case in this price range.

A good guitar case to get when it's on sale!

I bought this Surf Green case when it was at a discounted price ($164.99) for a Fender USA '97 Stratocaster. It fits the guitar fine but there are a few things you should note before buying this. The inside layout has changed from old Fender guitar cases. I have another case from 2014/2015 and the little compartment used to be in the center of the case, not the corner. I prefer the old layout but I am also ok with this new one. Another thing that I noticed is there is little dots near the carry handle, not sure if this is intentional but I know other people who also have the dots on their case. Finally, be careful when you do get the case and want to open the little compartment inside. There is a little silver button on a black strap that you need to pull off then ... MoreI bought this Surf Green case when it was at a discounted price ($164.99) for a Fender USA '97 Stratocaster. There is a little silver button on a black strap that you need to pull off then the compartment will open as intended. If you don't do that then you will cause the inside green material to peel off. I included some photos so you can see the things I'm talking about. Overall this case is a good one if you can get it on sale, it is sturdy and fits my Fender guitar. It comes with a key to keep the case locked in case you're gigging. In my case I just prefer hard cases over soft bag ones.

Better than anticipated; no regrets here

The temptation was always great to get one of these, as it is not everyday where you can find a distinctive Sonic Blue case, which is a good match for my teal color Strat. However, I was a bit hesitant to buy one after all the reviews, that cited various quality control issues with this case. But decided to take a chance anyway, due to the return policy, but also because there was a sale on it, at the time. Could not go wrong with this. As it turns out, had none of the issues that people mentioned. Interior of the case was nice, too. Unlike the Hofner bass case, which had internal issues. No complaints here, whatsoever, with this Fender Case.

Not worthy of being called fender. It's like I bought a knock off brand. This was supposed to be for a Christmas present and so I ordered the dark blue one. It had the same issue of the leather falling off on the inside. The only thing keeping it together was a thin amount of glue. It was falling apart. So we returned it for another one. And got this light blue one. The problem was worse. We are having to glue it on ourselves. But honestly this is unacceptable. Not only was the leather unglued but there was several holes in the outside, and the fender logo inside is just plastic wrap on top of a metal button. My husband is dealing with it because I got it for him but I expected better. He loves fender, and I notice quality details right away and this wasn't it. They need to reevaluate what they are doing to save money. Definitely would not gonna buy again or recommend to anyone that wants a case that will last a long time. All of them on the store were like this by the way.

Excellent case, would buy again (owning 4 already)

This is absolutely a phenomenal case. Very protective of the guitar & very good fit. Remember, put the guitar in headstock first* & it'll fit in perfectly. Some may say a tight squeeze, but do you want your guitar moving around in the case? I feel very confident the instrument is well protected when inside. Sleek looks as well, even just sitting in the corner of the room.

Great case for a Great Fender Price

I had to get case for my American professional Honey burst Telecaster guitar. First thing upon arrive I notice was how attractive the color and contour the case was. The inside is dead gorgeous, mine was green almost custom shop but not custom shop cash. The Fender cases are considered bargain next to there upper line G@G cases. I bought mine brand new through musician friends. Please get the bargain cases at these prices before everything go up sky high. They come with the keys and the latches are sturdy and not cheap. Handles are nice and fit. So I highly recommend buy this case, if you see one used at a reasonable offer buy it. If not keep your eyes open for one of these case. Just Didn't fit
8 October 2021

Alright so, I just bought a Fender Strat Pro2 and wanted a more vintage case to house it in. Once I got both the guitar and case I tried putting my new strat in. It was a REALLY tight squeeze to fit the guitar inside and I didn't feel comfortable with it being left in. Turns out the new case that came with the Pro2 was the perfect fit. I also tried an old Fender Squire which there was no chance being able to fit inside. Overall, it's a great looking case, love the interior and exterior but not the right one for the job, just wish it would have said so on the description that it only fits specific Strat and Tele models. My only con would be the handle did seem a bit flimsy, perhaps made of some kind of cheap plastic; other than that I would say it's a cool vintage ... MoreAlright so, I just bought a Fender Strat Pro2 and wanted a more vintage case to house it in. Looks great but has a few workmanship issues
15 October 2021

Certainly a really nice case color and is different from the norm. The Guitar fits very well with lots of protection. I have lugged guitars around since 1958 so I think I would hesitate in using this for any serious gig work. It has a certain fragile feel to it that is hard to define and feels more like a novelty than a working case. But for my current needs it will be fine. Looks really cool as well. What stops it getting 5 stars is the poor workmanship on gluing the tolex on the accessory compartment lid and on the end binding. Sure it is fixable and is minor but should not have to do it at this price point.

NOT a normal G&G Case
27 May 2021

This case is not what I expected from a G&G case. I've owned numerous G&G cases over the years and currently own two that came with my 70th anniversary Broadcaster and AVRI 62 Telecaster and this case is not the same quality as those. The first thing I noticed is that this case is extremely light. That's because it's made of thin, flimsy material and the top will flex under light pressure. The overall quality is nowhere close to the older G&G cases; tolex, latches, handle...everything. Also, my guitars fit very snugly in the older cases and with this one, my Tele has room to slide back and forth about a quarter of an inch. These cases aren't bad, they're just not great quality and what you'd expect from G&G. Very cool, just need to pre-squish padding for best fit!
27 February 2019

I purchased the tweed/red case and really love it. I had read some negative review in the past so I was a little hesitant but the one I got arrived in perfect condition (quality materials, latches all line up, etc.) and just looks fantastic. One thing I would like others to know (should be more common knowledge and the case should come with a small instruction sheet, for which I would give a Fender/G&G a full 5/5 stars), is that at first you might think the case is a little small because of the padding -- it is actually fine as long as you know that you need to "pre-squish" the sturdy padding and then properly insert the guitar (and also let it get settled for a bit). Indeed, this particular tweed case has very sturdy padding where the headstock and bottom of the guitar touch (also a little on the sides). This is a good thing in the long run but at first it appears as if the guitar might not fit (either a Tele or Strat with regular size headstock). There are forums explaining that it is best to put the head stock in first and then slowly push the bottom in. I would also add another very important step before that... With a little patience and elbow grease (but careful not to overdo it), spend a bit of time carefully squishing down the padding on both ends. After a little while, check (and re-check as necessary) to see if the guitar is getting easier to fit in (be especially careful with the high "e" string tuner when test fitting to avoid getting bad pressure on it). Your patience will pay off when you get to the point where the guitar fits very snug all around (without any loose movement). I suppose they could use more squishy material for the padding for an easier initial fit but it seems that would risk a loose fit in the long term. Since these cases are more for vintage vibe than, say, super-duty TSA-approved for heavy travel, it is more good than bad that the padding needs a bit of initial coaxing to get the best fit so it stays more snug long term.
