It's a novelty item I keep on my desktop. I can actually play my guitar through it, but it doesn't produce "good" tone. However, it does produce a tone that sounds 'cheap' but not horrible if you make a little effort to 'dial in' the best sound you can get working with what you've got. This is not a product for gigging or recording. It is what it is.

I use it as a little fuzz box when I want to mess around. The Main thing I like about it is you don't have to plug it in, it takes a 9v battery and it has a headphone plug. So you can literally play it anywhere, even in your car parked somewhere or at a picnic in the park or on your neighbors porch at 3am (lol not really though). It's obviously not going to be astonishing, none of any little mini amps are, afterall it's a little plastic speaker box just like all the rest of them. But I've played it to a chime thru my single coils and a good fuzzy tone too. I put my wah thru it, it'll take pedals but the dynamics aren't all there, it will be lacking in some range of depth. You put it on the wrong setting and it'll sound bad and brittle, just like any amp. You gotta ... MoreI use it as a little fuzz box when I want to mess around. If you have a quality instrument and know how to play it, you can make this thing sound good.

This is a great guitar amplifier for the price. It would be even better if it had Reverb functionality and a Line Out option that wasn't necessarily only for MP3, but for the price it's a pretty good deal. I'd recommend it for both beginners as well as more experienced guitarists who just need something small and compact for practice purposes especially given that it does have an output jack for headphones (and it accepts the standard 1/4" input plug). Just like the good ole days did.

Im confused why so many people are giving this Little guy such bad reviews, Its a 1 Watt mini Amplifier so if your expecting it to sound like a Fender Deluxe Reverb or something your going to be out of luck lol. Personally I find that these Micro Amps are really more for Look rather than Function, Needless to say you can still get some pretty decent tones out of this Tone Master! One thing thats defiantly cool is that it does have 2 2" speakers so even though its only One watt of power it can make a somewhat decent sound. Its great for if your in a hotel room and need to practice or need to practice in a quite space. One negative thing ill say, you cant turn up the gain past halfway or it starts to sound really staticky, especially if the volume is loud too. ... MoreIm confused why so many people are giving this Little guy such bad reviews, Its a 1 Watt mini Amplifier so if your expecting it to sound like a Fender Deluxe Reverb or something your going to be out of luck lol. Purchased this little amp for my daughter. She is just beginning to learn to play and really wanted this thing. Against my judgement, it was purchased. To play with a clean sound, turn the gain to 0, but you can barely hear the thing. Turn the gain back up and you get decent volume and sound. I guess it would be okay if you just wanted to make some noise in your bedroom. As far as a practical amp for guitar learner, spend a few more bucks and go with a Fender Champion 20 or similar. We will defiantly be trading up.
I collect mini amps and added this one to the shelf. I did plug it in and as expected, not much in the way of power or tone, but I had no expectations beyond looks. It is nicely detailed with corners, handle and grille with logos. It's is what it is. A detailed scale model of a Fender Amp. Fits perfectly into the collection. Not likely to plug it up again. Equally poor on AC or Battery. Rated 5 as collectible replica. Rated 1 as an amplifier. Hence the 3. Wouldn't recommend as a guitar amp.
Nice little amplifiertakes pedals well and ideal for Low volume jamming! This looks the part next to my other tiny amplifiers And I was surprised that something so small could actually sound quite good, Make no mistake that this would not be suitable for serious rehearsals, if you want a bedroom amp then you should be looking at something around the 10 watts range, this amp I think is three watts and dose not have reverb, but if you like the look of it and want a working gimmick that actually sounds good for its size then this could be for you!, but dont expect to much from this little amp!!, after all its powered by a 9 volt batteryand I would say is sold as a gimmick rather than a serious amplifier.
This is not a stadium amplifier, or strong enough for a concert hall. It is a great small amplifier for practicing when overwhelming volume will wake everyone in the house or start the neighbors complaining. It has great sound and dissolves any fuzz or squelch. The controls are easy to use and adjust with great range for such a small amp. I bought the amp for an inexpensive junior guitar (38") so i could practice and improve my skill after a 3 decade hiatus. I did not want to invest a lot of money only to find that I was no longer interested in really stepping out. It is perfect for me to relearn, and to sample some new music with an electric acoustic guitar. It is perfect for me to relearn, and to sample some new music with an electric acoustic guitar. I made a very good choice, and recommend this amp if you want to practice on your front porch or in your living or rec room. The sound is incredible for a one ampere peak to peak amplifier. Much louder and more defined than one would expect. The fidelity is excellent. A great buy for a small start without having to take out a 2nd mortgage.
First, look at the dimensions so you won't be surprised. It's small. The sound from the 2 speakers is surprisingly good. The mini amp is fragile since it is made entirely of plastic. Won't take too many falls. And it's so light that the cable pulls it off things easily. It's fun for the home and easier to take than my 10 watt for practice when I go on short trips. I bought it for the portability for home practice and outside of the home practice.
I plugged a cheap 30" kid's guitar into this, fired this up, and started to play with it. The brand "Mini Tone Master" is no lie! It will crunch like a metal extremist, it will clean up and get glassy like a Strat. The tone knob is what blew me away- it's not muddy bass and twangy treble, it works like a variable pickup switch! Set it on 0, and you're in the neck pickup. At 5, and you're neck/mid pickups (that glassy Strat tone!) At 10, and it's the bridge pickup! Plus, you can fine-tune on that for the perfect pickup tone. Add gain, and this thing literally rivals guitar tones like Clapton and Allman. Add even more gain, and you're into Billy Gibbons tone. No really, this thing is a tone monster in an (almost) pocket-sized package! I can't wait to plug my guitars ... MoreI plugged a cheap 30" kid's guitar into this, fired this up, and started to play with it. The brand "Mini Tone Master" is no lie!
