I originally was in the market for an electric guitar, but the bass section at guitar center kept calling out to me. I've tried many basses over the span of a few weeks to get a feel for the tone and feel of the instrument. For tone, i'm not at a level where I can tell a ton of differences between instruments but it's very apparent for the player II pricision (If you can see it in person, i think youll be able to tell as well). Secondly, the strings were very easy to play compared to the ones on the other models I tried such as the squire. Maybe it has to do with the specific unit i have I don't know. BUT this bass has been awesome to play, and has been amazing for learning. I was in the market for a starter bass, but I think I found my end game from the get go.

Overall:I have been playing a beat up cheap bass for years and finally upgraded. This thing rocks! Sounds and feels great. Also noticed when I was doing the setup that it has near perfect temperament on every fret once you set the intonation. The color is stunning too!

First time bass player but have been playing guitar for 30+ years. The neck on this bass is super smooth and makes it easy to glide up and down. The rosewood fretboard has a very nice feel and the body gives the bass some great tone. With the Fender Precision Player II, tackling larger strings and wider spaces between strings has been quite enjoyable. It's a solid bass at a decent price! I love the sunburst colouring on mine.

Killer bass. Awesome looking bass. Confortable bass.
Overall:I am extremely pleased with the responsiveness of this instrument! Due to the sensitive pick-ups, small changes in gain and/or EQ settings bring forth a wonderful palette of tonal color. The instrument volume and tone controls are quiet and very effectively 'fine tune' the timbre to match whatever your needs require. The feel of the rounded fretboard edge is a welcome addition for comfortable playing. The gravity balance of the instrument is very good and tends to stay in place, where you need it to remain. The tuners are smooth in operation and easy to manipulate. I made all setup changes to comform with Fender's recommended specifications. No further adjustments outside of their parameters was required for my needs. In short, regarding my recent purchase ... MoreOverall:I am extremely pleased with the responsiveness of this instrument! I hadn't owned a Fender bass in years. When they added the rolled fingerboard edges to this model I bit. Out of the box the fit and finish was very good It was pretty well set up properly. The action, though a little high was passable. The pickup height was right on Fender spec. The intonation was right on. It had a curious vibration when the open E was played open, almost like a tuner or the truss rod was vibrating. I'd been through this before. The slot for the E string was improperly cut. I had to increase the downward angle of the back of the nut so the string would seat properly. Also, the neck alignment to the body was off causing the strings to be closer to the treble side of the neck. Looking at it from the front all the strings were visibly over to the ... Also, the neck alignment to the body was off causing the strings to be closer to the treble side of the neck. Looking at it from the front all the strings were visibly over to the treble side of the neck by a pretty good bit. I had to loosen the strings and all 4 neck bolts and physically pull the neck over to the E string side and re-tighten the neck. Neither problem was earth shattering but not expected on a brand new instrument. Other than that it's a nice bass. Good sound. Plays well. Well balanced and not to heavy. Fender could tighten up on their QC a bit.
I love Fender Precision basses
Overall:I had to send the bass back for a refund because the bridge was off center about an eighth inch to the right so the strings didn't line up. But the Jazz Bass was fine that I ordered so I recommend that.
Loving this bass so far, and I’m confident it will be my new “number one” bass. Comfortable to play, looks and sounds great. Everything you’d expect from a p-bass. Bought as b-stock as it had presumably been damaged in the shop, but this is minimal and hard to spot.
